Upon reporting the issues, front desk was not apologetic or seem to take the comments seriously...therefore we are disappointed considering the rental was $1150 for 3 nights and would recommend overall improvements in cleanliness.

Our campsite was concrete with a patio, not level side to side. It rained quite a bit while we were there and there was a literal swamp completely surrounding our site. You couldn't get to the basement on the side or to the hookups without standing in water. The roads were fairly easy to navigate but many people parked out in the road which made it difficult to maneuver in the RV when leaving.

There were lots of activities that my teenage kids took part in. The hubs and I also took part in a couple activities. We tend to keep to ourselves and I think that is what saved us from this place. It is so large and there are so many people in this place that the staff really has to crack down on non-paying customers. So much so that we saw a fight break out between staff and a family whose kid either lost or wasn't wearing his wristband. They were paid campers and it got to a level that it shouldn't have gotten to. I later read other reviews complaining of the the way the staff handles such situations, even when it is small children involved. The chaos level goes from 0 to completely bonkers in just a few seconds. There are A LOT of golf carts. Many are suped up and the owners insist on blaring their awful music as they roll through the grounds all hours of the day. That isn't management's fault, just an observation of the kind of people who stay there. I didn't go to the pool but my kids did. They said it was dirty and there was all kinds of stuff floating in the water. They probably could have made sweet bank selling black market wristbands with all the ones they found in the pool. The bathhouse. Oh lordt. Many, many campgrounds half the size of that one clean their restrooms and showers 2 times a day. This place should definitely start doing that, especially since the floors pool water from the showers. Shower shoes are not enough. Waders would be better. The laundry rooms need help, too. 3 washers and 3 dryers in the one near the front of the campgrounds. Out of order signs on 1 w and 1 d. I watched a woman try to put quarters in one of the "working" dryers and the slot looked bent and unless she jammed the quarter in, it wouldn't go. Then, when she decided that wasn't normal and didn't want to try her luck, it wouldn't give her money back when she pushed the coin return button. That's when I decided I don't mind doing a couple extra loads of laundry when I got home a couple days later. Oh... and no change machine. I walked up to the ranger station for quarters and the guy was a little bewildered when I asked for $3 in quarters. My family had a good time but I seriously doubt we will be back. I would only recommend staying there to friends who I know have strong ties to and are exceptionally comfortable with the redneck, diehard tailgating, and rebel rousing communities.

It is the perfect location for a park, right off the road, quiet, close to the bayous, space center and other towns. The owners will come out and meet you, they are so sweet and friendly. Don't be surprised if you talk for a while. They were helpful and knowledgeable. If we could give them more stars we would. We will definitely be back! The sites are decent size gravel back in with a cement pad and picnic table. There is a laundry mat and bathroom. Jeff (owner) is working on adding amenities as we speak. The people who stay here seem to be nice, everyone waves and smiles when you pass. There is plenty of grass and shade trees and pets are welcome on leash.

However: We got to New Orleans in the middle of a heat advisory. It was REALLY hot. We don't have A/C in our vehicle but are prepared to manage it...and we did. Lots of ice, fans, and we spent a lot of time during the day inside venues. The swimming pool at this place was HOT. Like, 95 degrees hot. I suppose, aside from actively cooling it, there's not much they can do about this, but I also know that N.O. is prone to being hot like this so I wouldn't expect the pool to be much of a perk. Having 24/7 ice machine was great. We definitely used that. There was a very nice australian couple at the spot next to us that we struck up a conversation with on our first night. They had a rental RV and the A/C was broken so they were struggling like we were and we had a good laugh about that. The next day, we came back and the gentleman came over and told me that the people that run the RV park had refused to let him put some water bottles in the freezer and that they had called the police on him so I shouldn't be alarmed if the police showed up. Sure enough the police came and the nice couple was trespassed off the property....because they had tried to put some water bottles in the freezer inside. They were not offered a refund. The officers were nice enough but....this seemed like a total dick move on the part of management. Everyone was VERY hot...like...flex a little, you know? You've also read other reviews so you know that they're right by the freeway. We knew this and were prepared. HOWEVER- there is also a SHRIMP PROCESSING PLANT on one side...right over the wall from our spot...and let me tell you, during a HEAT ADVISORY the last place you want to be is next to a SHRIMP PROCESSING PLANT. It smelled like low-tide and death. It was horrible. Also, the trucks began showing up at about 5:30 to load up on, presumably, shrimp. The workers were yelling at each other and revving their cars. We were woken by it most mornings. The place is for sale. There are signs up in every parking spot announcing that it's for sale. While the location is clean...they don't really seem to care much for the customers...like maybe they're already checked out? Another odd thing: the first morning that we were there (we got there Friday night so I'm talking Saturday morning) their grounds crew started mowing the lawn at 7am. Mowing and using the weed whacker right at our spot. There was no sleeping. They were literally mowing around our trailer. A foot away from my head. The next day, Sunday, after the nice australian couple had vacated their spot, there was a guy there weed-whacking that spot. Very early in the morning. So- we were woken early every morning by unneccesary noise and shrimpy fish stank. Short story: This place is super expensive. If we were in an RV we might have been happier, but...they are not going out of their way to help anyone in need, and in fact are making decisions that are not in the best interests of their guests. If you do something they don't like, for whaterver reason, they'll just boot your ass off the property and use NOPD to do it. I don't think I'd go back, but if you're looking for a spot close-ish to Bourbon Street and are in a sound-proof RV, it might not be so bad.

The park is very well thought out, only a couple of minutes from I-12, and can accommodate huge Class A buses all the way down to my little Class C. All of the spots are cement, so no gravel flying out of your tires for the first 20 minutes after you pull out. Some walked while some biked. Sugar Mill is a looping trail about a mile long. The alligator boardwalk trail was closed, likely due to damage from Ida and hasn't been repaired yet. There was another trail, but we did not take it. The massive cypress are just awesome! The Spanish moss slowly wavering in the air as you walk underneath these giants is just captivating to me! We did not encounter any creatures except squirrels and a male Orchard Orbweaver and his impressive web. Sooo much space and things to do here we didn't even do all of it. There's big open fields for playing, a playground, tons of parking available. I did see the pier and water of Lake Pontchartrain in the distance, but we were too hungry to keep exploring lol $3 per person to enter the park - 100% worth it
