Compared to actual gas station food, this is much, much better, though it'll be very strange if a pizza joint sold bad pizza. I like their toppings, and they give a good amount of it spread evenly between slices. Each pizza comes with garlic sauce too, which is nice. They have some interesting specialty pizzas that I should've tried, but I don't see myself coming back anytime soon for them. Most people order carryout, and while there is some seating, it's not much. It's not bad to eat there, the tables were clean, but I didn't find it comfortable due to the space. We ordered from Cow Pies for dinner one night from the Airbnb we were staying in for a family gathering. We called in a delivery order and person taking the order was friendly. The order came in the promised time. We ordered one garden pizza minus onions with light cheese and one sausage and mushroom pizza with extra cheese. The pizza came as ordered and was nice and hot. Everyone enjoyed it. The crust was tasty and the cheese and toppings were yummy. I could have used a bit more sauce, but I'm a saucy girl so it's probably fine for most people and had a good flavor. I often order extra sauce on pizza, but didn't in this case since we were accommodating a large group. We also enjoyed the garlic sauce they included. Leftovers tasted great reheated in the oven! Let me start off by saying I have had too many average pizzas in this vicinity. I have been looking and looking for a good/excellent pizza and they have eluded me until today. This is my first time having Cow Pies and I was very pleasantly surprised! We ordered a thin crust pepperoni, mushroom, onion, jalapeño, feta and black olives for the main course and some wagon wheels for an appetizer. Let's start with the wagon wheels, these are absolutely genius it's basically a Stromboli cut into bite-sized (or 2 or 3) pieces. They were made out of pizza dough, pepperoni and cheese. how can you go wrong? And they also provided a garlic dipping sauce and some of their fresh marinara sauce. (More on the sauce later.) The thin crust pizza was fantastic, the toppings were nice and fresh and the pizza was loaded down nicely. Another nice touch was that the toppings were under a layer of deliciously cooked mozzarella cheese. The thin crust had a beautiful crunch too, especially when you get to the crispy edges. Now for the sleeper in this whole entire experience....believe it or not....the sauce!!!!! It was so fresh and delicious, I wanted to drink it with every bite. Well done Cow Pies! Good enough for me! Co-owner Josh has been in the pizza biz for 11 years. His 2nd restaurant, Cow Pies is 1 month old. There's also one in Macon. SPACE/SERVICE Clean and quaint, it's more of a carry out space with a few small tables. Get ready to sit with a stranger if you dine in but everyone was friendly. No public restroom. You can order online, pick up or have it delivered. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and quick! FOOD To die for! I ordered a large pepperoni pizza ($10) and munched on it the entire weekend. The tomato sauce was wonderfully smoky and spicy, and the delectable cheese was perfection! The appetizing Greek salad was large enough for me to make three meals out of it. It was loaded with fresh romaine (no iceberg here), mozzarella, olives, banana peppers & topped with well-seasoned warm grilled chicken ($10.99). The handmade garlic, buttery breadsticks paired flawlessly. I can't wait to try the wings which are smoked 3-4 hours before the sauce is cooked in. Mango habanero? Yes please! Signature sandwiches (buffalo chicken, steak, meatball, BBQ) also look tasty! PRICE Because everything is made fresh & the portion sizes are large it's a terrific value. Sandwiches are $11. Pizzas range from $10 (large 1 topping) to $27 (giant specialty). There are lunch specials - 2 slices/drink is $6 and I used a 20% off coupon for my salad. The wagon wheels were great and could serve as an entre if just one person eats them. The garlic bread was a little on the bland side for me. We were not overly impressed. Based on all of the hype, we were expecting better. The good: The staff was super-friendly and helpful. The bad: We didn't call ahead. We were visiting my Mom and doing some shopping for her. This place got good reviews on Yelp, so we decided to stop by and place an order in person. My wife is allergic to tomatoes, so we tried to order the Cowboy but they were out of the steak. Instead we ordered the Spinach and Artichoke pizza for her. We added ground beef to it and despite paying extra, there was no ground beef on the pizza. We would have called to see if they would correct it, but it took so long the first time and it was so late (we were heading back home at 6 am), we decided to just chalk it up to bad luck. The second pizza was a Cowpie Deluxe. It was OK, but nothing to write home about. The pizza was a bit bready for our taste and the toppings were pretty sparse. The pictures on Yelp look a lot better than what we were served. My Mom lives in town and has been looking for a new pizza place, but we were all in agreement that this isn't the pizza for us.
