We had a very good experience last time visiting here so we returned. 3 miles from our hotel so convenient. As we were ordering, we were told they were out of one of the specials and most beers(not a good sign). Our server was pleasant and the falafel appetizer was still good but my Greek salad had little feta and my gyro was average. I'm writing this review because I am extremely disappointed in how I was treated by the owner at Greek Village. Greek Village used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I went there at least twice a week and regularly recommended it to friends, coworkers, and others. Unfortunately, my most recent experience completely changed how I view this business. On this occasion, my coworkers picked up food for me to go. I ordered my usual -- the Famous Greek Salad with an added boiled egg. When I opened my salad and cut into the egg, I immediately noticed black mold spots on it. It was clearly not safe to eat. When I cut it open further, it released a very strong, foul odor that instantly turned my stomach. I placed the egg in a small container and brought it back to the restaurant after work because I wanted to speak privately with the owner, Mrs. A. My intention was not to ask for a refund or a replacement meal. As a loyal customer who has supported this restaurant for years, I simply wanted to let her know what had happened so she could check her food and prevent anyone else from being served a rotten egg. When I arrived, I politely asked the staff if I could speak with the manager. They went to the back and returned looking uncomfortable and slightly embarrassed. They asked what the concern was so they could relay it to her. I showed them the egg, and they were immediately shocked by how bad it looked and smelled. They even took it to the back to show her. However, instead of coming out to speak with me, they returned with a new egg and told me the owner refused to come talk to me. They apologized and even mentioned that she often loses customers because she refuses to take accountability. I explained that I was a regular customer and that the owner knows who I am, but they told me it wouldn't matter because she would not come out or apologize. What shocked me the most is that I wasn't there to complain, demand a refund, or cause a scene. I came back because I respected her business and wanted to protect it by bringing a serious food quality issue directly to her attention. Instead, I was met with complete disregard. There was no apology, no accountability, no appreciation for years of loyalty, and no concern that I had been served food that could have made me seriously ill. At the end of the day, this situation isn't even about the egg. It's about how I was treated as a loyal customer. I choose to spend my money where it is appreciated, not where it is tolerated. Unfortunately, because of this experience, Greek Village has lost a customer for life, and I will no longer be recommending this restaurant to anyone. read more

I'm writing a bad review on this restaurant. Lisa, the manager or owner of the restaurant was completely short with me, mean, and disrespectful. All I wanted to know is the flavor of the cakes that was in the window. Her disposition was VERY NEGATIVE, as if she didn't want me in her establishment. It had gotten to the point that I was reluctant to ask questions. So I simply GUESTED at what I wanted. Lisa doesn't belong in customer service, if she treats her customers in this manner. I have not been there in a long time. I did a take out order and was charged a gratuity fee, which should be voluntary via the customer, I was not happy about that, left a note about such on receipt. Also, bought an expensive slice of dessert and asked if it could be sliced in half due to it being a birthday gift that was going to be shared by two people. The staff asked owner if it could be cut, owner rolled her eyes, huffed and at that point I stated since if it is a problem, don't bother. Well, she didn't bother, they gave it to me uncut, not sure what the problem was but the response to my request did not have to be rudeness. I was feeling like a gyro for lunch today! I decided to walk in and place a to-go order to see how that goes. Out of 13 tables, 10 of them were full at lunch. It was a little loud at times, but fully expected with the amount of people there. I was greeted within about a min by a very friendly waitress asking if I would like to be seated. I said I really just wanted to place a to-go order for a gyro and asked how long it might take. She said she wasn't sure but maybe about 5 mins, so I said I would wait. While waiting the owner came up to make sure I have been taken care of and she said my order will be ready in just a minute. She is such a sweet lady, she was making her rounds to check on all her seated customers to see how they were doing....literally every table! All the food coming out smelled delicious, one plate was sizzling as it went by. Yummy! After about 15 mins another waitress went to check on my food. Total wait time was about 30 mins. I got a gyro and a Diet Coke for $15.60. I'm not sure if they rang it up correctly, but that's seems a little high for just a gyro and a medium Coke. Looking at the menu it looks like the gyro by itself was $10.99, and I didn't have a side. The gyro was okay, the bread was fresh and meat was hot. I would probably give them another try to see if they were just "off" today. They were very busy, I think next time I would call ahead for a to-go order too. read more

My mouth is watering just thinking about how good the food is here. Greek Village is a small, indendent-owned restaurant located on Watson Blvd inside the front of the International Square shopping center. If you blink, you will probably pass it, so drive slow. Parking is plentiful both in front of the restaurant and on the side. If you make a "to go" order, they have a drive-thru window that someone may or may not come to if you pull up to get your food. The restaurant is quaint, so it fills up fast. Definitely order ahead because there is no place to sit, and wait if you order inside. The service is friendly. The owner is the primary person that I've encountered picking up my orders. All of my experiences have been amicable. The food is so delicious. Hands down the best Greek salad that I've had. My favorite dish is the Salmon Giovanni. Every bite is like a party in my mouth. My husband's favorite entrée is the Chicken and Shrimp Piccata. There is no website, only a Facebook page. Personally, I stopped using Facebook years ago. Online ordering is not an option,you have to call in your order. Also, their hours are limited, closing at 8pm Monday-Saturday and 4 pm on Sunday. The Greek Village is a smaller restaurant located in in strip mall just down from Subway and Churches Chicken, probably less than 15 booths and tables combined BUT Adriana, the owner has a well oiled operation there with just the most fantastic, authentic, Greek and American food. Went for lunch today and my son and I both got the greek fajitas. My husband ordered a sandwich with soup. Our appetizer (mykinos fries) came out relatively quickly and I had assumed my husband's soup would have shortly followed. However, my son and I received our fajitas, my husband received his soup 5 min after that. We should've immediately said to cancel the sandwich. I have been dining at this establishment for years and always enjoyed my food. However, the prices for lunch have gotten over the top. A couple of weeks ago my granddaughter and her friend were visiting from out of town, and we decided to eat dinner here. It was a cold, rainy night, and the restaurant was freezing cold inside. We were all 3 shaking. The young server didn't come to our table for a good 10 minutes. She seemed to be in a daze and said she had not realized we were there. There were only a couple of other tables seated so business was slow. We ordered and food arrived slowly without silverware or salad. We had to ask for both. Two of us had chicken wraps, one with fries and one with the salad. The chicken was dry and cold. My coffee was old and cold--very sorry cup. We had no alcohol and the girls had water. The bill was $60+! I asked about the owner and was told that, "she had been in her office all day." One of the go to restaurants for years. Unfortunately there seems to be problems of late..table of four with individual meals coming out at separate times. We saw four diners at the same table eating at different times due to their meals being served at different times. Turnover with employees is very frequent. Food quality is not what is was in recent years. A typical wait for your meal is 45 plus minutes. I am afraid that this highly regarded establishment may not be around much longer.
