I had an eggnog latte and BF had a drip coffee. My latte tasted great and BF was happy with his black coffee. He said it was a smooth, nice roast. I also had a muffin, which was fresh and tasty. A good find, worth hopping off 80 for a minute if you are just passing through. Definitely would go back. read more

Several of the staff weren't wearing masks, including one woman at the register (which is someone who speaks directly into the face of someone ordering), as well as 2 customers I saw, which made me super anxious. Also I did a call-in order because we were in a hurry, but when I got there it wasn't completed. Drinks were good but overall a stressy experience. read more

I stopped in because being from out of town, I needed the free wifi, and the coffee to work on some school assignments. So, I ended up turning to Yelp, and found this little cornerstone of the Elko community. I love the theme, decor, and atmosphere of this place. I asked for suggestions from the ladies at the counter and they mentioned that their cowboy coffee was their signature drink. I ordered a medium and reluctantly paid the $4.44 for the thing. However, I found out that I drank all of it, as it was VERY GOOD. And worth every penny. I ended up sticking around for a few hours, taking advantage of the free wifi. If you choose to do what I did and need a quiet place to work this wouldn't be the greatest option. They do have country music a little louder than your typical coffee shop. All in all, I took advantage of their "caffeine" card (punch card) as I plan to be here many more times when I find myself here. read more

It's just another coffee place. There is nothing spectacular that stands out at Cowboy Joes. The baristas are friendly if they know you as a regular, which is more obvious when I go in with friends that frequent it often than when I drop in myself on occasion. Seating is quite limited since they put in their own toaster, too. With all the available coffee options around town, this is a take it or leave it type place. read more

I sometimes, come here to work and every time I come I have a great experience. Whether you like fancy coffer or like me a regular cup of black coffee there are many options to chose from. The menu is very big and can be overwhelming, but the environment is so chill, there is not rush, to place an order. The décor is eclectic, but very warm and inviting. Internet is fast and free. I can't really speak on the food, as I have only had bagels, but from my observations of others eating there, it appears as though the food is very satisfying. I loved this place. It's my new favorite coffee place in Elko. I went in on a Wednesday morning at 8 am. The service was quick despite a lot of people there. They have a walk up coffee bar. The decor is really cute cowboy decor. They sell mugs and tshirts. I'm going back tomorrow! It's next to McAdoo's on 5th. There is street parking and a public parking lot around the corner. There is comfy seating in case you want to bring a book and enjoy your coffee. It's walking distance to all of downtown, and right next door to the Western Folklife Center. read more

The dacor it has all these pictures that are panorama's of the area very interesting. And coffee's good staff is oh so friendly and even the customers are boisterous. We ordered a cup of coffee and chai latte with almond milk. The coffee was rich and smooth. The latte was tasty with the mix of spices and a subtle sweetness. We chose to try Cowboy Joe's instead of Starbucks, and we're so happy with our choice! This will be our new stop when traveling through Elko! read more

I have been to Cowboy Joe a few times since I've lived in Elko and I have to say that I understand why so many people in Elko recommend this coffee place. It's got a great little seating area and some drinks that are personal to Cowboy Joe. They have a variety of syrups too. I had a cherry latte the first time I went there and it was absolutely amazing! Their coffee is great and the caffeine kicks in quite quickly! All in all, this is a great place to go when you would like a quick cup of coffee and they have a great punch card system for drink rewards as well!! read more

Not good coffee. Not good service. The cashier doesn't wash her hands before making your food and it's just gross. I would have to say that you should just hit the local Starbucks and get what you expect. I try so hard to support local coffee over chains like Starbucks but they also have to meet me half way and provide good service/good coffee. Sorry but this place offered neither. read more

Elko is an interesting town. On one hand the downtown area has its roots firmly set in old school casinos and businesses, and on the flip side there are a handful of local spots that could be considered, depending on your perspective, city-esque. Despite the name, Cowboy Joe could easily be transported out of Elko and dropped into a city. Coffee drinks abound, including chai, specialty drinks made with almond and soy milk. It must be that everything in Nevada is just average at best as this place is not a good. I ordered an almond milk cappuccino and it came back luke warm . When I asked for another one the girl tried to tell me that's how cappuccinos come. WTF? This place is NO 4 Star and not worth spending $5 on a coffee that you won't drink. read more

I thoroughly enjoy coming here and as tomorrow is a Thursday plan on going in to get my rewards card double punched. I have only drank their espresso and made business calls on the cute and quaint back patio but am going to make a point to try more of their coffee drinks as the weather turns colder. We drive through Elko several times a year going from SF to SLC. This is a great place to grab a tasty latte. Smooth and mellow (not overly roasted or burnt) flavor. I'm always looking for something that tastes better than burnt/bitter Starbucks. This is a great option. read more

This place seems a little cramped and cluttered, but it was a very comfortable place to sit and enjoy my drink anyway. Only about a dozen or so people could actually hang out in here at a time.
