A breakfast sandwich served via a takeout window should have two pieces of some baked good surrounding meat, egg, and cheese. I ordered a breakfast "sandwich" and was served an open faced conglomeration meat, egg, and cheese on a plate. Something that would have required a knife and fork to consume. If I had wanted something that required me to sit down and eat, I would have gone to a real breakfast restaurant. This is not what someone going through a drive-thru window at 6 in the morning is looking for. At least the coffee was hot. read more

Looking for a quick breakfast before taking on the day, but want something more than the normal pastries you get from other coffee shops? Look no further than the Mudd Hutt in the Albertsons/ Pizza Hut parking lot!! Not only does Mudd Hutt have all the normal coffee combos you could want, they have a pretty decent list of specialty drinks, smoothies, and Italian sodas. My favorite thing however is their 'Red Bull Italian sodas' which is any of their Red Bull drinks add cream. They're all so good and really get my mornings going! The coolest thing is that they carry Ogi Deli food, including their Breakfast Burritos! The chorizo one had big sausage link style chunks of chorizo, egg, potatoes and cheese and it was super good. What's even better, is they have a drive thru! So you don't even have to get out of your car to order and you'll be quickly on your way to work with a unique drink and good hot food! Mudd Hutt is the best for fast and friendly breakfasts. I find myself going there regularly! read more

Great little drive thru if you're going through Elko, NV. We went through the drive through and it was very fast and wasn't a long line. The Carmel macchiato was so good with a lot of Carmel. The food was delicious and was perfect for starting our long drive. read more

Stopped by at 6:30am on the way out of town. Only drive through was available. There was only one person working. She was friendly, quick and polite. There is a good selection of specialty drinks. My coffee was hot and tasted good. read more

The coffee tastes watery and terrible and when we asked for milk in the coffee, they charged us $.52 for the milk! Never again.

Got an americano and it was salty and gross. Upon dumping it out it smelled like soy sauce. Terrible coffee.

I went into Mudd Hutt Elko to get a simple coffee. there were no other customers in the building at he time. while I was ordering a small coffee another lady walked in and ordered behind me. the two young ladies working at the time both went out of their way to help this lady and fill her order first which included several coffees and some sort of food items. It wasn't until her order was filled and this lady was on her way out of the building that I walked up to the counter and asked if there was a problem with my order. both girls looked at me like I had a third eye in my for head and then stated that they were working it. Both girls knew I had my order first and blantantly chose to ignore my order. This is very representative of the customer service in Elko and I'm not sure if management knows or care about the level of service being provided at their place of business but I would recommend another coffee establishment. read more

First of all, I don't usually go to coffee shops. It's an every once in awhile occasion for me. I am perfectly capable of, and usually do, brew my own at home. I decided to treat myself to a $5 cup of flavored coffee this morning. I know coffee is hot, so I let it cool on the 3 minute drive to work, anticipating pouring it into my insulated cup once I got there. When I pulled off the lid, this was the "fill" line in the cup. I get the "froth" level may have dropped, but this much? In 3 minutes? Heck ... let's even give it 5. At this point I'm thinking "whatever" and go to take a drink of what I expect to be comparable to other coffee shops. Even having been to Mudd Hutt before, I know their coffee isn't supposed to be this bitter and bland! It tastes like the bitter dregs from the bottom of a pot of old coffee. The flavor was lackluster, and the cup was sticky as she handed it out the window to me. Like I said, I can and usually do make my own coffee at home. I probably won't go back.I'm feeling disappointed. (And yes, I drank it anyway. I paid $5 and I needed the caffeine.) read more

This was genuinely the worst breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The croissant looked and tasted like it had been backed over and then soaked in water overnight. I took one bite, was soggy and tasteless. Would not recommend it at all. The coffee was not bad, but in general nothing special. The only saving grace for this establishment was the employees. Both of the girls working were super friendly and very busy, but still managed to make my order in a timely manner. read more

Grabbed a coffee from the Mudd Hutt via the drive through. There were 4 cars in front of me and I was in and out in 5 minutes. I ordered a Vanilla Late and it was good as well! Not too sweet! Lobby is closed due to COVID, so drive through is the only option. However, the employees were not wearing their masks. read more

I have been going to mudd hutt off and on for the past few years since I moved to Elko. The first year everything was consistent and satisfactory, but the past few months, drink sizes have been inconsistent on top of which the other day I just went there to get a cup of coffee, I was charged eight dollars and some odd cents, and I find out my credit card was charged two extra dollars so they gave themselves a two dollar tip when I given them cash for a tip .... when every dollar counts and a couple extra dollars come up missing out of my account that I was not expecting, it can be very infuriating. I guess I will NEVER use a card with them ever again and they only get cash payment, and I won't be tipping anymore until the consistency happens again and may be a bigger smile. Some of the employees have resting bitch face and it's kind of annoying..... in the service industry you kinda have to fake it unless you make it.... I know for a fact because I used to work in the service industry, so making customers believe you're in a good mood is part of their job... and some of the employees really suck at it.... it's truly disappointing cause I love supporting small local businesses..... but this kind of treatment makes me wanna go to Starbucks cause at least they're consistent on pricing and sizing and behavior towards customers.... read more

Self proclaimed coffee snob here. This place is solid. After throwing out our super gross drinks from Cowboy Joes, we came here. Not disappointed in the least. Ps. It's been difficult to find good coffee on our road trip but Mudd Hutt did it! We appreciated all the sugarfree options and the taste was good. My sugarfree nonfat snickers was quite good with no weird diet taste. My husbands sugarfree caramel mocha was good too. We are 'coffee snobs' as we are spoiled by all our PNW coffee options and this is a place we would go again. read more

I am justy catching up on remote work here, and it such a beautiful scenery and in its own unique spot in a parkiing lot ,I was able to have good drinks, and greaat service from the morning shift to the afrternoon shift .VERY SWEEET Dust devil frappe i had with oat milk, The teams know where everything is and can make a green tea in 2 seconds well of course after it steeps ,but the fastest tea ive ever been served in the country. How refreshing!! After checking out of the Holiday Inn express and trying both their Keurig coffee in the room and the coffee at their so called "breakfast" which we promptly dumped, we were thrilled to find Mudd Hutt!!! Their coffee was excellent - it tastes like real coffee, very fresh. And the Chai was even better. Perfectly blended and yummy! Wish I'd tried their Dirty Chai but that's for the next time we're driving through. Oh, and the gal who greeted and helped us was very welcoming and friendly. We'll be back! read more

Nice local coffee shop with bagels and breakfast burritos. We were tired of the casino Starbucks shops on our trip through Nevada..so we decided to give the Mudd Hutt a try. Very friendly service and the guys liked the breakfast burritos a lot. My bagel was ok but not toasted enough. It was still cold but it was soft and fresh with plenty of cream cheese. I'd ask for it to be toasted longer next time. My latte was not quite hot enough but the coffee was tasty. We'd definitely return on our our way through Elko again. The friendly service was enough to bring us back...the casino coffee shops were lacking in that area. read more

I always try to support local coffee places when I travel. I tried going to Mudd Hutt this morning. The sign said "open" and I saw the barista serve two cars in the drive thru. I wanted to go inside since I had never been there before. When I tried the lobby door for the SECOND time and the barista saw me and completely ignored me, I decided to go to Starbucks at the Albertson's next door where I was promptly greeted and served. I would strongly encourage management at Mudd Hutt to improve their customer service training. read more

A drive thru style coffee shop. Lots of drink choices, I mean a crazy amount. Lemonade, Italian sodas, many coffee drinks. My cappuccino had way too much milk in it, but the coffee was good. My wife's Americano was much better and much hotter. Overall, the quality and service here is fine, and I'd certainly give them another try. Although true Italian styled coffee this is not. For Elko, it is cool that there's an alternative to the casino based Starbucks. read more

This place is so much better than any other coffee chain. There were only two people working when I went in and they were such a dynamic duo killin both drive thru and seat in customers. The drive thru was super busy but I believe they were super fast for just them two. The guy who helped me was so nice and personable, I love when people treat you like a friend and not just another sale. The inside was super clean, cozy, and modern cute. The whole ass menu was hand written and it was something to appreciate because it was literally perfection- all down to the spacing between each letter and sizing. I got the Titan which was a 20oz large hot specialty coffee. Whoa mama did it wake me up- since it contains 3 espresso shots, but not too sweet nor overbearing. My husband had a frozen hot chocolate since hes a child, lol but it was a huge cold medium served like a frappuccino, also not too sweet. Wish we had this place where Im from. Great find. read more

I wish I would've read the reviews before I went in, they were right, the older chic with the short curly hair was extremely rude. I was giving my order and she stopped me and with a very rude tone and raised voice said " stop, first of all, do you want that hot or cold?" Then it didn't even taste good. I am admittedly a huge coffee snob, so had low expectations for being able to get a decent espresso when passing through Elko. The line at the Starbucks in the Red Lion was too long, so I went to Mudd Hutt. I am SO GLAD I did, as the espresso was 10x better than I've ever gotten at a Starbucks. The staff was very nice too. After all the times I have been here, I have been never thoroughly impressed with the shop. I come here many times to study and hang out with friends due to the proximity to where I live. Pros: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - Drive-thru - Fair selection of pastries - The visually nice indoor setting - A very large selection of flavored coffee Cons: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - Machines making a loud indoor atmosphere (hard for studying) - Usually slow service - Beans are not good - espresso seems highly unbalanced with overwhelming elements of earthy, grassy astringency and bland sourness and little-to-no sweetness (seems over-extracted or poorly-roasted). It is full-bodied and relatively fresh though. - Drip coffee presents the same flavors with not too much strength. When considering this shop, the main turn-off I get is the quality of the coffee. The shop would benefit greatly from experimentation in changing their beans and extraction methods. The same review goes for their Elko shop as well. read more

This is a great little coffee shop to stop in while driving through Elko. If you want something different than your commercial Starbucks on every corner, surely stop in here for a delicious custom coffee to keep you awake while driving I-80 to Utah. We had a Ruby Mountain, a Nutter Butter, and a home made cake pop. Service was fast and friendly. They make all their delicious drinks hot, iced, or blended, and all are named after famous candy bars or cookies. Thanks for the great coffee pick me ups on the way through. They had great lemonade! Their bagels are gross. Tasted like old, overly moist, bagged bagels you get from any grocery store. The staff doesn't listen well because I asked for 2 lemonades (received 1), and 3 bagels (received 2). I eventually got the rest of my order, but after biting into my bagel I wish I hadn't paid the extra amount. read more
