I can't believe I haven't written a review about this place! I used to come to Elko, Nevada for work once a month and would always eat here at least once. Several years later I found myself back here for work and told my co-workers we have to eat here. Inside is a quaint little cafe that has been around for years. On the day we were here the place was very busy because of the Cowboy poetry annual event was in town. Either way service was awesome and so was the food. I got the daily quiche with ham and veggies with a side salad. This was delicious! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone passing through or visiting. Honest dine in experience: well worth having to find a parking spot: 5/5 will be back the next time we're in the area! When I think hole in the wall, this place has all the vibes to give you some of the best indications that the food is going to be simply amazing... we were met by some warm greetings as we were taken to our table; it was nice and cozy and welcoming and we made it work as it was just 3 of us. We were even offered a larger table when it came available, but we made it work happily. Between my fiancée and I, we tried the blue cheese burger and the monthly breakfast special. I'll highlight some of the best touches of our meal down below: -Parmesan crusted potatoes: 5/5 I still remember this bite of potatoes a month later... grated Parmesan cheese over what feels like a poached potato that's fluffy on the inside and crusted on the outside with panko, simply just a well rounded bite to complement our meal. Croissant monthly special: 5/5 Decadent and just light and fluffy you're met with a sandwich that had the buttery flakes you'd expect from a croissant and the lightness from the greens. Add the savory fillings from the sauce and combining the egg and you're just met with a balanced bite that alone just gives you a savory experience. My fiancée had the blue cheese burger and I will say... that was one of the best burgers I think we've both had to this day from a local diner, on our 4000 mile trip, this was the best first stop we could have asked for. Really cute, small eatery. Clearly popular as it was very full and we had a 30 minute wait. Service was prompt and friendly. Quiche was just okay. A bit overcooked. Nice pancakes. But the star was that tri tip dip sandwich and salad. Good flavors. The salad had a lovely raspberry peppercorn vinaigrette. We are driving across the country to relocate back from California to Pa and after a dispiriting night in Winnemuca, we did not have high expectations for finding a decent place to eat lunch. However, we had to stop for gas, and we found ourselves in Elko, which proved to be a lot more charming than we expected. McAdoo's exceeded all of our expectations - the service was warm and friendly and the food was simply outstanding. I had the BTLA on toasted multigrain bread with half salad and potatoes and everything was amazingly delicious - the bacon was cooked perfectly, the avocado was just ripe, and the sandwich was packed with greens. The potatoes had some sort of garlic crumb thing that was highly addictive and the salad was delicious. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich and he said it was the best chicken sandwich of his life and then he got the strawberry cream cheese pie which was incredible. We are sorry that we are not likely to return to Elko but would HIGHLY encourage those driving through to stop here. read more

Had the French Dip, French onion soup, children's quesadilla, mixed green salad and everything was perfect. The French Dip bun was soft while the meat was tender and the au jus flavorful. I actually didn't try the quesadilla but the child ate piece after piece, foregoing the side of chips that came with it, which is evidence in and of itself that the quesadilla was delicious. Green salad was deliciously tangy and sprinkled with crushed sunflower seeds. The coffee also was aromatic and yummy. The restaurant itself is small, almost like a hole in the wall but cutely decorated, with fresh cut flowers adorning every table. For those of you passing through and wondering if Elko is a safe stop, it is. My party was all Chinese-American, and we felt welcome from the time we walked in until we left. Stopped in here for a lunch with my family and was greeted with the best service! They were so busy but we were able to get a small table in the corner right when we walked in. This is an adorable little place off Main Street. Kylie was our server and she was just so bubbly and informative about the menu. There were three different variations of quiche available with interesting ingredients in all of them. Kylie explained to me that they used leftover items from different dishes to make their quiches, and it was just based on their imagination. I could eat a different quiche there every day and be a happy girl. The pancake were delicious, and I normally don't clean my plate but at this breakfast I did. This was our second time having our breakfast here in McAdoo's Elko. When my husband attend the mining expo every yerat, we always have our brunch here, because the food tasted homemade and the ingredients they used were quality. I ordered the blueberry pancake, just to check if the batter is a premix or from the scratch, and it did not disappoint: the pancake is fluffy and there's no store-bought-pre-mix-pancake after taste. I usually order it's artisan coffee, but this time I chose it's brewed, and it also tasted good. I tried my husband's quiche, and the crust is not thick and overpowering like the other quiche that I tried in other restaurants. Expect a full-packed morning, but it was worth waiting for your seats. The staff were efficient and can handle a busy brunch. The ambiance is inviting and comfortable. On a roadtrip and stopped by McAdoo's for lunch. Great service, ambience, and delicious food. They were busy and we were a big group but we were seated immediately, and the service was prompt. Our family ordered the veggie wrap, roasted turkey sandwich, kids quesadilla, and tilapia tacos. Everything was delicious. The veggie wrap was amazing - the filling and the wrap - and the side salad - so much better than a regular house salad - in fact my five year old gobbled up with her quesadilla. Stopped in to McAdoo's for brunch after my doctors appointment this morning. I had never visited before, so today seemed like a good time. Monday morning was slow, therefore there wasn't a wait to be seated and parking right up front was a breeze. I entered, and they allowed me to sit at their cute little bar where I got some good pics of their holiday decor and the front of the house. Seeing as how I arrived shortly after 10:30, I was given both breakfast and lunch menus which was nice because at that time I wasn't sure which I'd want. Now I have to admit, I believe it was over priced. Even a simple breakfast sandwich was over $18. That's a lot for a bagel with some bacon. So I wanted to make sure and order something I thought would be worth it. I've also been recommended their Quiche by locals, and at $13 it's not bad... but by 10:30 am on a Monday they were already out of Quiche. Le Sigh. So I ordered the Grilled chicken with marinated, house-roasted bell peppers, mozzarella, red onion, and chopped basil on toasted Garlic Ciabatta, with Side Salad and some Coffee. This sandwich was AMAZING. Juicy flavorful grilled chicken, yummy melt in your mouth bell peppers. The basil added an herbaceous element that was a nice contrast to the rich peppers and fresh mozzarella. The Garlic ciabatta was soft and delicious, not hard like some ciabattas can be. If I had one thing to say is I wish it had one more slice of the mozzarella so that it covered the entire top of the bread. Otherwise the sandwich was well worth it and the customer service was great. My waitress was super nice and made conversation with me. It was inviting and welcoming and the food was awesome! I'm ashamed of myself, living in the area for twenty years and this was the first time I ate here. A coworker of mine ate here numerous times and raved about the food and suggested we go there for lunch. When we walked in we were given a warm greeting and seated without delay ( I liked this place already). I had an ice tea (unsweetened) and ordered the hamburger. The hamburger was served on soft bun which tasted and felt like it was made in house. In between this perfect bun was a juicy burger topped with bacon , fresh jalapeño and whipped cream cheese. I had the potato's for a side which were fresh diced potatoes bite size topped with shaved Parmesan cheese. I don't know what they were cooked in but they were amazing. Back to the burger, it was one of the best I have ever had in my life. My coworker had a salad which looked like a pure work of art and the French onion soup. Gordon Ramsey himself would give a nod of approval if he saw what was being served at McAdoo's We didn't wait long for our food to be served and the staff is second to none. Nice decor and relaxing atmosphere. When in Elko you must eat here. I will definitely be coming back for more. read more

First thing that hits you is the decorating . Curtains, variety of textures on walls and ceiling, wooden chairs and tables and curtains and cloth napkins . Warm greeting and take my seat at the window. I selected their French toast and my husband the BLT with avocado. Unfortunately my toast missed the mark and didn't give the promised flavors but the BLT was terrific. I abandon my toast and ate half his sandwich and shared the Parmesan potatoes. They had both ground and flaked cheese and cooked perfectly. Husband said Bloody Mary very good. I would definitely go there again. Ok everyone! Strap on your seatbelt for this review. It's going to be long. I grew up in the Bay Area and also lived in Vegas for 20 years. I was an elite yelper for a few years. I have eaten everything from hood food to fine dining. I haven't done Michelin but that is happening in Chicago this summer with my favorite chef. Let me tell you this! I don't understand why this restaurant doesn't have a line around the corner right now. They stay busy but there should be a waiting list. Elko is lucky to have this place. I come here just to eat their food. I made sure to eat here at least 3 times before I did this review to make sure they weren't accidentally great.....LOL! They aren't great. They are AMAZING! Service: Every restaurant should model themselves after this place for everything. Their service is STELLAR! Friendly, fast, attentive and also no rush for you to go anywhere. They are the example of what service should be. There aren't enough stars that I could give this place. Food: I apologize for my French but all I can say is FUCK YOU McAdoos. You have made me a snob to food now. I compare everything to your food and so far nothing compares. Kiss all your chefs and give them gifts. They are rocking it. The food is fresh, tasty and different. I'm not a breakfast guy but even your breakfast food is better than most restaurants dinner food. Lunch is just amazing. I have not had a bad meal here ever. What a pleasant surprise on an absolute slam-packed weekend in Elko! Came for the cowboy poetry gathering along with countless others who crushed the local dining facilities, but McAdoo's rose to the challenge in service and quality! To be honest, we almost didn't stop because it looked tiny and my partner in dining that day had reservations. We're so glad we went for it! Fresh, tasty options with so many great items on the menu we'll have to return. Of all things, I'm spouting off about the salad with a bit of grilled chicken and orzo with, get this, fresh roasted vegetables. Not sauteed. Not nuked. Hot and juicy roasted. They had lots of creative beverage options as well and I settled on something involving cactus pear juice. This is a solid 4 star. I had the veggie wrap with egg whites, potatos (that they are known for), and a small buttermilk pancake with real maple syrup. The wrap is made with roasted vegetables and has a very distinct flavor. The potatoes are pretty much to die for, and the pancake was excellent. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I stopped by at 7:30 am today, and ordered the new seasonal pumpkin menu, the pumpkin cream cheese pancakes and the pumpkin white mocha latte. The menu was released only yesterday, and the staff was learning the the drink, but accommodated my requests beautifully. I am an iced coffee fiend because I like that caffeine to hit my veins ASAP, so I asked for the drink to be iced (it's recommended hot). It was perfectly delicious and I had a long drive ahead back to Reno and this breakfast really hit the spot. I'll have to spend some extra time on the peloton to make up for it, but it was well worth it. Make the time to go to McAdoo's for breakfast when you're in Elko, it's cozy and welcoming. The bison burger is great. The combination of salty and sweet bacon with the meaty patty with the perfect amount of salt and seasoning. The avocado balances out well. The Parmesan potatoes are delicious with the non spicy salsa on the side. The atmosphere and aesthetic is cute and clean with a modern small town vibe and the servers interact with you and are still pretty quick. I really wanted to give it 5 stars but something needs to be done about the amount of flies that come in when the door opens. When passing through Elko, one might be tempted to select the first restaurant they see right off interstate 80. But if you venture into the old central business district of Elko you will find this well kept secret. The restaurant is located in a turn of the century building, so it is narrow tight and crowded. But the food makes up for it. Everything here is made from scratch, you can't miss. I recommend the Chorizo Breakfast Burger, the chorizo patty was flavorful with just the right amount of heat. The egg was sunny side up, so the yolk evenly distributes itself within the burger. The brioche bun handles the mass together nicely. MaAdoo's also offers a wide selection of bakery goods that you will want to take home. And finally, the serving staff are so friendly and accommodating. This place is AMAZING. I highly recommend the tri tip dip with side salad. The meat is tender, the bread is excellent, get it with the cheese melted and you won't be sorry. The dip they use is broth from their french onion soup and adds the perfect flavor to the meat. They put a ton of shaved Parmesan on the side salad and the ranch is home made.
