While moving from Centennial to Co Springs we had rented a U-Haul and thought, psh.. we got this! (just the 2 of us...). Then we came to our senses and realized it was going to take us forever and we are definitely not spring chickens! So we started calling around for quotes on moving our 2 bedroom condo to a home in the springs. We spoke to Sherry who provided all the hourly costs for 2 guys and for 3 guys on a Saturday with a $30 charge for gas since it was an out of town move. Not too bad. We weren't sure exactly how long it might take but we anticipated the move would be about $1500. On moving day the truck (giant truck) pulled up and 3 happy guys greeted me. Mike, Justin, and Pena. They took a look around and got right to work. They had us out of the old house in about 2 hours and handled everything with extreme care! As they were finishing securing everything in the truck we left ahead of them to head to the new house. Thinking they would take much longer than us we started unloading our cars and they pulled up behind us immediately! Moving in was much simpler since we just wanted all the boxes in the garage and all of the furniture in the living room. They cleaned up their truck, settled the final bill, and went on their way. Ended up being about $1400 and worth every penny to be all moved in with out the aches and pains and days it would have taken us! read more

After a full month of attempting to HIRE AND PAY, Cowboy Moving and Storage they have refused to return a single phone call and are in possession of hundreds of thousands of dollars of my belongings. This is NO LONGER going to be handled amicably and Mike will now incur severe legal expenses. He has had OVER 4 weeks to return ONE CALL!! Failure to plan is a plan to fail, and Mike has failed everyone in Denver and sadly all of his employees will need to find a new home as I will be taking this business in court and probably his home as well for good measure, maybe actually take all of his belongings and pets and send those to some foster shelter and see how he enjoys being in my situation lawfully deprived of his property rights. They got off to a rough start but they completed the move with no lost items and no damage.

I am very disappointed. It started off well, movers came in and packed us up in a reasonable time. Came back on day two to pack us up onto the trucks. They didn't pay attention to the traffic and charged us extra for transporting to Colorado Springs. They finished at 10 at night because the commute took them an extra hour and a half. When it came time to tip the guys, the lead guy said "just tip us each $100 dollars because we worked our asses off for you people".... Seriously?!? Then after a week of unpacking, we finally got around to one of our TVs (brand new 65 inch) and it is broken. Appears to have been dropped. They apparently don't cover TVs. That is bull crap to be honest. We wouldn't have done a moving company but my mother and law and I are both out with knee injuries and couldn't do it ourselves. This after showing up with two movers but tried to bill us for three, while also billing us for more time than they were here. The crew admitted to damaging it, we communicated it immediately, and it still took repeated attempts to get a response. Then silence. I will keep this short because I'm exhausted and had quite the day. I moved from a 700 sf space to an 800 sf space. The new place had elevators, so it was an easy transition. Literally everything I had was packed, wrapped, and ready to go. I moved from west Denver to central Denver, maybe 9 mileI don't have too much stuff but I rented 2 guys and a truck from cowboy. The guys themselves were friendly and professional however this one star review comes from what they took from me today. My bill at the end of the way was $940. For a one-bedroom apartment move. OUTRAGEOUS. Do yourself a favor and shop around for cheaper options because this price is absolutely ridiculous. Spread the word, people! Update: I spoke to the manager, Mike, and he was able to refund me a portion of what I paid. The customer service has been really great here, and they definitely are stellar on constant communication with their customers, however they're still pretty expensive and I feel like the movers certainly take their time with the moves, hence driving the price up. My advice would be to do your research. I'm not sure I will use cowboy again purely due to cost, however I'm open to it after how they've taken care of me. read more

Chose this company because of the high ratings, but was disappointed. First, it was supposed to have 3 movers, they called 15 mins before the appt time to say there would be 2. Not a big deal but slightly unprofessional. The two that showed up were friendly but appearance was disheveled. They were moving very slow and stopping in between moves to talk. I very much felt like they were trying to waste time, it was very frustrating. At one point one of the movers asked how they were doing. I said "Honestly, it's going a lot slower than I thought" he didn't have a response and kept on. Then it became awkward and I just wanted the experience to be over. Once to the new house things moved a little quicker. I feel bad because these guys were friendly but overall the experience isn't one I would be proud of if this was my company. I am updating my review because I was contacted by the president of Cowboy Moving & Storage, Inc. In a world of poor customer service and complete denial, it was refreshing and surprising to receive a letter. I won't disclose all details but I will note that he offered to have my picture frame and china cabinet repaired by one of their technicians, is looking for the person with whom I spoke on the phone when I tried to file a complaint, and appeared to take my review very seriously and very much to heart. For these reasons, I am averaging out the review. The original review will remain below unedited. _______________________________________________________________ I will never use Cowboy Moving & Storage again. My move would have been faster if I had moved everything by myself using nothing but donkeys and twine. I suppose I am not your typical dissatisfied customer. I have used Cowboy Moving & Storage for three moves in the Denver metro area and used a storage unit with them for approximately three years. The first two moves my onsite supervisor was John. Now John may be loquacious but John gets things done quickly and correctly. He moved an entire 800 square foot apartment into a second story apartment from Littleton to Denver in less than 2.5 hours. Not one thing was broken. This most recent move was awful. It took the same two man team, with a different supervisor (Kevin) 8.5 hours to move me from Cheesman Park to Wash Park. Are you kidding me?! I had prepackaged everything. I mean everything. They literally had to pack nothing. Now this is why it took 8.5 hours to move me 30 blocks: 1) Kevin sat around in the back of the truck not working while the other worker, Dread, was forced to move all of my furniture and boxes by himself. For every load Kevin made, Dread made ten. 2) Kevin took multiple smoke breaks. When he was supposed to be arranging the back of the moving van. 3) Kevin spent five out of every 15 minutes complaining about how tired he was and drinking water out of my faucet. No, he didn't clean up the water that was all over my counters afterwards. 4) After they removed all my items from my apartment, I swept and mopped the entire thing. I then loaded all of my plants and cleaning supplies into my vehicle. I still managed to leave before the moving van. 5) Kevin decided to take his lunch break and charge me for his time. Now here are some other points: 1) Kevin stunk so badly when he arrived that I could smell him, no joke, for at least five minutes after he left my apartment or my house. 2) Kevin broke a picture frame and a door on my china cabinet. I never received any type of refund from Cowboy Moving & Storage. 3) When I called to complain about the length of time the move required, the lack of work from Kevin, and the fact that I had to pay nearly $900 for the move, I was given the "Oh well filing a complaint is a lot of paper work and time for us". One of the movers was hungover. They took 4 hours to pack a one bedroom apartment that was already boxed and shrink wrapped prior to their arrival. Plus, they packed my studio piano in the middle of the truck (instead of against the wall and strapped down) and used boxes under the key board section to prop it up. Too slow, I had a three person move team and one guy stood around the whole day, truly worthless, he maybe moved two boxes. They did wrap stuff and nothing was damaged but I moved the same house about 3 years ago with two people and it took half of the time, these guys are paid hourly and it showed. I was going to rate them 5 stars, because they where very fast, very professional, and helpful, the price was right etc. Until I unpacked and realized I had an irreplaceable item, (that had some very emotional ties to) was STOLEN. (I know it was stolen, due to it was in a frame that was bundled with other pictures the same size and this was the only one missing, also with the new popularity of the fandom it would be desirable to fans) I reached out to the company and was met with "OOPS. Gee sorry. I'll 'ask' the teams, they are all very "trustworthy"" Like, they would tell you? I was not offered any sort of compensation for the missing item for me to even try to replace it. Hello Yelpers. I'm afraid I haven't been living up to my 'elite' status lately. But this is because I've just moved. The question: Is hiring movers worth it? Of course, all of my friends thought so, but I have a feeling they were biased by the fact that they would be the alternative. People I know who hired movers in the past literally all said it's "totally worth it". Not kidding...they all used the word totally. It was wonderful to have it all done in just a couple of hours with no effort on my part. I can't compare them to other movers, which makes this rating harder than say a restaurant. I can say they worked hard and the actual price came in within $25 of the quote. Of course, as a man, I have to think that I could have mustered other men and done the same job in the same time and saved myself a few dollars or they will revoke my man card. Was it worth it? I would say yes, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it was totally worth it. read more

These guys know how to work and how to stay chill while doing it. They were able to basically manipulate a huge round ball (our couch) into a square hole (narrow doorway that had to have the door taken off and the banister for the stairs). Same narrow small entry way with a 20 count stairway with a big screen and still no cuss words. Down at the receiving side they listened to where things needed to be placed. At the same time I had contractors finishing a job. the moving truck was blocking the driveway, making it sort of difficult to leave the property if you don't have the ability to teletrasnport (or whatever the star trek verbiage is) Without hesitation they packed up the ramps and pivoted the truck into the middle of the street so my by the hour peeps could get out of dodge. Will use these guys again in 5-7 yrs. Only bad part: they charge by the hour, not per mile or by the amount of square footage. Get them stuck in rush hour and you are so totally screwed. read more

I gave up after being called out by the person answering because I was "angry". Yes, I was. Did not ask me properly still have a 10 x 10 storage down at my old address that's full. took much longer than expected was thinking it would take about 8-10 hours took 14. Was much more expensive than I thought. I should have went with the other estimate which included the storage they said they were too busy to come on out and do an estimate, now I see their game it's called change order. I guess it's called change order without signing a change order. I would have given them 5 stars if the movers wore their masks in my home. This was before the Governor's mandate, but during the shut down so they should have been wearing masks. Other than this one issue, Cowboy Moving is the best. They moved me a couple of times and I always recommend them when asked about movers. The team I had were friendly and helpful. They arrived early, stayed later than expected and did not stop for lunch. When I went to the office to get boxes, they were extremely helpful. The boxes were a bit larger than Home Depot but comparable in price. If you use Cowboy, buy your boxes and tape from them. The tape was a better quality than Home Depot. My daughter is now moving and I told her do not use anyone else. read more

They did not overcharge but I would NEVER use them again and I do NOT recommend them. One of the guys had no experience and the other guy was small. The smaller guy was training the other one during our move. When you've had a great professional team, you can really tell when they don't know what they are doing. Very unstable team. They barely got our move done and they did damage a wall. They also never returned a call when we were missing a box. Go with someone else. Horrible experience! Very unprofessional crew...cursing at each other and nearly coming to a fistfight. Many of our items were just thrown into boxes without being wrapped or protected. Moving blankets were not used so several tables, leather furniture, televisions etc...were damaged. Many of the boxes were marked with the incorrect room and over 50 items were damaged. Was informed that movers would arrive at 9 am. Arrived 30 minutes late. Did a good job moving. One mover smoked while on the job. This should never be allowed. Cowboy movers personnel threw their personal trash on our property (water/soda bottles, etc)...did they really think we would not notice???. We had to clean up after them. All 4 men did not have their full masks on while moving...only partially. Was charged for .5 hours of lunch, yet movers were offsite for a full hour. Our hope is that the owners take full notice of our experience and hold their staff accountable. Cowboy Moving and Storage owners need to take more responsibility and consider being onsite to manage their staff. Owners failed in our mind. read more

I have moved several times and this was the WORST service I have ever had. They refused to do as I asked and protect my expensive all wood furniture with the furniture pads I provided until I demanded it and did not even put everything in the truck and did not tell me. They did not do a final walk through as the manager told me is part of their job. They left empty beverage containers in the truck, on the fender and in my driveway. They had to send another crew to finish the job and load a TV, desk and an air conditioner. The 2nd crew had no difficulty adding the items in the truck. This delayed me by 1 1/2 hours and cost me additional money and frustration because I had to change my unloading date in another state. They did not live up to their recommendations I had read and received. UPDATE When I arrived at my out of state location I found that they had COMPLETELY dismantled my expensive, large, tall headboard. I did not give them permission to dismantle it. In the several times I have moved NO OTHER MOVERS dismantled it. Before Cowboy Movers took it apart it was just as it had been assembled in the manufactures. I just hope I was able to reassemble it and that it is safe and sturdy as it was before Cowboy Movers handled it. In addition, they destroyed one of my TVs and an expensive, unique clock. They loaded 4 EMPTY boxes that were not taped closed. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, OVERPRICED JOKE FOR PROFESSIONAL MOVERS I'd give them a -1 score if I could. read more

I recently had Cowboy Moving and Storage move my furniture and some appliances out and back in my condo so new floors and construction work could be done. First, I asked them to not leave the front door open as I had two cats in the unit. I even pointed one cat out so they knew they were around. Well they left the door open and one of my cats exited my condo never to be seen again. Second I had a new set of lamps from Pottery Barn in their original boxes. When they were moved back in one of the lamps pottery base was shattered. I notified one of the movers and he took the broken lamp back with him to shop. A staff member said he "fixed" it even though I had stated that I expected to be reimbursed for the broken lamp. I was to go to the office today and I was presented with a glued together pottery base that had been spray painted Where the glaze was damaged. The lamp was missing the rest of the pieces including the harp so it was useless to me. I took home the damaged lamp because they never intended on filing the insurance claim they had me fill out. Third on the move in two out of three of the movers had alcohol on their breath. I worked hard to buy that lamp and they treated it like it didn't matter. read more

Hired Cowboy Movers for a move from Denver to Pueblo. They scratched and dinged many pieces of my furniture, including destroying the pole for my patio table by hammering the pole and flattening it out so that the umbrella no longer fits into the pole! They obviously didn't use the correct amount of pads to protect everything, and had everything piled on top of each other. Would never, ever use them again! read more

Where to start? Whether arriving 20 minutes late and then standing around for an hour, my first impression of this moving team was dismal. None of them spoke English which made giving directions difficult and they were moving at a snail's pace. Unfortunately I wasn't shocked to discover that my couch was ripped, pictures were damaged, our weed whacker mysteriously is still missing despite FIVE calls to the office which have all been ignored. You'd be better off hiring random people off of the street to move you. Not only would their price not be bloated, but I'm sure they'd do a better job by 900%. read more

These guys were great! First time hiring professional movers and I was quite impressed. Everything went smoothly and I couldn't ask for more. Even at one point when they discovered the main bedroom frame would not go up the stairs... they were able to hoist it up to the second floor and through the porch doorway. These men were ultimately the best. They moved large dressers, good furniture, and fine antiques without a scratch. We downsized from a house to a townhouse with two flights of stairs. WHAT AN OUTRAGE. i have used Road Scholars and Student movers, and they never charged me as much as these guys. My mother had a 2 bedroom apartment , needed moved 10 blocks away, and they charged her over $600.00. Used 3 guys and dolly's instead of carrying the boxes. she had EVERYTHING PACKED and stacked for the guys to have an easy access, and they took over 4 hours. i will never recomend them to anyone. what a joke. Then she had to call them back the next day because they didn't read the boxes, and put Bedroom stuff downstairs , and her living room stuff upstairs. she is 61 years old , she cannot lift those boxes upstairs. So they came back the next day around 5pm. and moved them without dolly's. amazing. read more

Cowboy came highly recommend. And then the day of packing arrived. A two man crew showed to pack a three bedroom house. While they moved fast one of the crew couldn't pack a box correctly if his life depended on it. Found the Christmas wreath at the bottom on a tall box. They packed the garage using clothes boxes. Guess what, those boxes cost more.. Then the move came...again two man showed. One clearly wanted to be elsewhere. Provided very careful instructions on moving certain pieces like keep these library sections level. Antique library which is very fragile. So I witness the mover flipping the sections sideways. Then to prove everything was ok, they unwrapped the pieces only to display one of them was upside down. And because there was only a two man crew it took 10 1/2 hours to move ten miles. Worse move ever and the most expensive. Really can't recommend this company. read more
