As far as staff and environment goes, Cowboys is a great place to come to if you want to hangout and chill with friends. However the DJs (mainly Justin) are repetitive with their songs and will not play anything outside of their listing unless you are a cute girl in their eyes. You can tip them and they will look at you like that's the least you can give and still won't play anything you request, so guys beware. "Line dance lesson" they teach will not be played at all ever throughout the night for beginners and will be forgotten about. So much potential! read more

Drinks were cheap. Music was good. Ambience was fun at the beginning. Little did I know I was going to be scarred. It was absolutely violating, what I thought was going to be a fun bull riding competition on a slow Thursday night turned out to be a straight up stripper club. The bull that everyone was riding probably has so many infections. I was trying really hard to adapt and feel out the vibe of the occasional top being off, with the undergarments still being on. To my surprise with each girl that passed by $300 seemed more dire by each woman more than the next. One took her shirt off.the next shimmied her shorts down, then they were all in their underwear, the next was fully nude from the top up with her underwear shimmied down. I'm not sure why this place has such low stars. This place is so much fun to come and dance. The drinks are cheap, the crowd is always hype, the bathrooms are relatively clean, the lines at the bar go pretty quickly. They have a lots of fun things going on, they have a big Dancefloor for line dancing into stepping they have a mechanical bowl they have pool tables and on the weekends they do professional bull riding on the top of the hour. I've never gotten food here but the drinks are always good and they have Jell-O shots! read more

Mixed feelings about Cowboys. Understand that Cowboys is probably going to give you an impression that's biased toward your likes. I'm more of a city person, having grown up on the East Coast. I did not like all of the smoking inside, nor was I a fan of the live bull riding. Overall, it was not as bad as I was expecting, but I am not in a rush to go back. For the atmosphere, it was definitely leaning on the country side. The music was a very strange mixture, especially since the tunes would randomly shift from a slow country song to rap to pop. I guess this is appealing for a wide audience, but for a bar/dance club, it didn't create a smooth vibe for me. The music was too jumpy and all over the place, as if they skipped a DJ and just picked random songs out of a hat. The crowd was diverse, but middle aged country folk and young women in cheap cowboy boots with very short booty shorts made up the majority of the crowd. The drinks were actually fairly good. A house gin and tonic was only $3.50. Still just $5.50 with Tanqueray. I had great bartenders all night, except for one guy who told me to go to the end of the line after I had waited in that line for a drink. I was polite and not drunk or rude, so that was confusing and infuriating. The smoke smell was apparent the second you opened the main doors, but on a scale of 0-10 (0 being smoke-free to 10, smelling like you bathed in an ashtray), the odor was about a 7. While it was enough to make my clothes and hair smell disgusting by the end of the night, it wasn't so bad that I couldn't breathe on the dance floor. High ceilings and the bull ring probably helped in terms of ventilation. On a Saturday night the cover was $8, so keep that in mind as well. read more

Where else in the world can you go where they have live bull riding INSIDE?!?! I am in OKC for a month due to work and decided to come here with some friends to check it out. This place is out of this world. 25 cent beers, line dancing, country music blended with hip hop, bull riding, and more stetsons than you can imagine!! The bar is like a very clean warehouse in which half is a giant dance floor and the other half is a bull pen. They typically have a few rides per night and watching some of these guys try and hang on is beyond entertaining. BTW anyone can do it, you just have to pay $50 bucks, sign a waiver, and you're good to go! I won't be doing it but it certainly would be an experience. This has been one of my all-time favorite experiences in Oklahoma. I've now been three times in the past two months, even though my friends and I live in Tulsa, Catoosa, Broken Arrow area. Each time is a similar and different experience. Techniqually, if you get bored, you're doing something wrong. Just be sure to get there before 10pm! Noticing a similarity among most bars and clubs, they all have certain things going on at certain times during the week. On Saturday before 10pm, you get tickets for two bottled beers for 50 cents! I have personally never been anywhere that does anything close to that. Of course these beers are limited to four or five different brands (Micholob Ultra, Coors, Coors Light, Miller Light, Budwiser, Bud Light ect.). Which are all easy beer to drink and are very popular so I am not complaining! Entertainment here is better than most everywhere else I've been that involved alcohol. When walking in, you might notice scantily clad ladies everywhere. You'll definitely notice the vast amount of different music played (real country, new pop country, pop, rap, dance music ect). The reason being, is the dance floor. Of course they have alot of different popular music! Actually, the most entertaining part of the evening for me had to be the bullriding. They have two mechanical bulls but that's not what I'm talking about. At two points during Friday and Saturday nights, they have proffessionals riding live bulls. Alot of reviewers on here have put down shows they have encountered, that looked rather dull and unexciting. But for me, this is the closest thing I have ever been close to. Pretty eye-opening! There are many bars with very attractive bartenders working. Yet as another reviewer had mentioned, most working there seemed rather fed up with alot of the customers and sometimes sported a face of resentment for choosing such a job. It doesn't spoil a good time however. There are other things to keep you busy other than drinking. Pool tables, dancing, arcade games and the bull shows are some of the reasons why I still go here. Not to mention all the single ladies and country attire. Cowboy's is a great club but the owner must read some of these reviews to possibly get certain ideas of improvement. Granted, I am not a club or bar person, I came out here for a friend's going away. I looked online at their website to see what specials they had and it turns out Friday nights, OU and OSU students get in free with a student ID. I couldn't find mine so I decided to take my official transcripts. After parking, I guess I missed the "peeing on the side of the truck" routine, outside the building. :::Insert Sarcasm::: At the front door, the lady refused to acknowledge that it is equivalent (considering school just ended for the summer a couple of weeks prior). Kind of rude and unapologetic, she said just pay the $8. This was around 9pm before a majority of the crowd showed up. I am used to getting free cokes/juices, etc as a designated driver. Not here... The Designated Drivers don't get any privileges here... like free cokes etc. I thought they would encourage that so they wouldn't be hit with lawsuits as people drive intoxicated. So far I have not been impressed. The floors are pretty sticky and it smells like urine.If you stayed in a spot for more than a couple of seconds, your shoes will be stuck to the carpet. I would not want to see this place with the lights on. They do have live bull riding /rodeo style which was entertaining to say the least. Such a fun place! It is two levels and the top level has pool tables and is a good spot to watch the live indoor rodeo! The place is decked in warm, deep wood, there is a spacious dance floor and guys look pretty hot in those cowboy hats (and that is coming from a very urban girl). They apparently give dancing lessons one day of the week and i wish I would have gone to those because we were pretty embarrassing bumping into everyone. I would definitely come back here! Garth Brooks brought back such memories. This place convinced me that country stuff can be sexy, romantic, and fun! Oh, and parking is super easy because they have their own private huge parking lot. So I wanted to kickstart me and my sisters night of bar hoping off here after going to the Jon Pardi concert because I saw on Facebook that there would be an after party/free entry afterwards for concert goers and I was so excited to give her the cowboy experience but when we got there we were told our tickets wouldn't get us access into the club because they we're "screenshots" which #1 was false and #2 was so incredibly wrong and unprofessional for the workers/security to stop us at that and not even give us the chance to show they were legit tickets. My sweet bf surprised me with the tickets for me and my sister to have that special time together and to think I talked you guys up and got her excited to go there just to basically get harassed and antagonized really shook us up and put a damper on the whole evening. Even if we were that people that were trying to pull a fast one the staff STILL could have handled the situation a lot more professional than they did. No one deserves to be talked to the way we were on my sisters special night. So please take caution when going here or save yourself the time and energy and go somewhere where you'll actually be treated like a human being. I went to Cowboys last night, as I was passing through town on my way to Iowa. I have a Texas license and they proceeded to try to tell me that my license was fake and tried to keep it. Once I tried to call the police to get it back, because I clearly needed it the next day for driving, they instantly gave it back and told me to come back later for another security guard to look at it. When I came back later, they tried to see if I attended a university, as if that was any of their business! And still tried to not let me in! The head bouncer let me in after I showed them my DRIVING RECORD I had in my email and said my license was not "scannable" (I never saw them scan it). If you're from Texas, avoid this place! You can take your southern business elsewhere, let them lose all the money. read more

I like Cowboys. It is what it is - a country music bar and club complete with bull riding. You won't like it if you don't like clubs, country music, line dances, etc., but it's always fun for a girls' night of dancing. They play a good mix of country and hip-hop music, which I like. I absolutely despise cover charges, and Cowboys has a $7 charge to get in, BUT I will say their drinks are actually reasonably priced, definitely cheaper than I'd expect at any type of club. I think domestic beers are around $2-3, and I'm pretty sure last time I was there, well drinks were only $3, $6 for a double, and the bartender was pouring them pretty strong. Definitely a plus! My fiancé and I go to cowboys almost every Friday night. He is a student at OSU so cover is free (for him) and only $7 for me. The 25 cent beers until 10:00 are a bonus. The bull riding is exciting and some of the riders are really good. Around 9:45 it gets very crowded so we try to get there early to sneak in a few dances. We always have a great time at Cowboys but, we always leave smelling like we rolled around in an ash tray.
