I moved to Miltona in 2020. Never had a tune up. This year, I went out for a ride and blew a tire going too fast over train tracks. I took it to Jake's Bikes to get a new tube. He gave it a good inspection and let me know I'd need new tires. My computer never worked for me so I asked him if he could fix it. He said he'd try but said he might need to put a new one on and I agreed. I decided to have him do a full tune up and just dial it in. My tape on the handle bars was coming off so I asked him to put a new wrap on it. It took a few weeks (exactly what he quoted) and I picked it up Friday. The price was what I expected based on what he told me. He itemized all the labor and parts, which I really appreciated. He really went above and beyond. I just went for my first ride this morning. The bike is awesome. I felt like I was flying. Thank you Jake and the crew! Highly recommend.

Jake came out and in seconds it was fixed.The next day when my husband was goint to go ride,It would not even start. 1 WEEK later we recieved a bill for the ''CHAIN being put on track" IT WAS ALMOST $200.00!!!!! I was insulted,as he NEVER said that would be the cost.I was stunned when I emailed him and asked why so much He got defencive and stated he told us that is what he charges...I know that we are very cautious when we spend in a luxury.As my jusband is very economicly conservative,he would not do that without a discussion. I was very respectful and he became indignant,and said, that he was charging the fee anyways.It was so much to do a seconds work.He said the bikes are $$$$$$$ so is everything else so much because I sell $$$$$bikes.He did not care that after he left it did not even start! Really, don't you think it was common sence to just allow it to start.I spoke about my years of owning a retail store, and I was so successful becaise not only was I talented.I was never rude or dismissive to a client if they needed anything.When we sell anything thats only a small part,of having 1 sale or getting many!REFERALS ARE A RETAILERS STRONGEST TOOL IN NARKETING He ended up simply acting as if we were being needy and demanding.Stand behind the items you sell.Never argue and act justified in exploiting a vulnerable adult! I call that "cutting off your nose to spite your face. Too bad, I was going to also going to buy a bike,but now? NO. I AM NOT.That act and inflated ego just cost Jake future biz,and services.Penny wise, dollar foolish!

Our family of six spent a totally enjoyable four-plus hours this past Sunday at Jerry Hiltner's Vintage Village Antiques in rural Osakis, Minnesota (population 1,750). "Rural" takes on new meaning out here on the dirt roads of northwestern Minnesota where the only facilities on this site are a pair of outhouses. Jerry offers tours and field trips of the "Village" by appointment 7 days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Pre-scheduled visits for small groups include a Thanksgiving-like candlelight dinner for a modest fee per person. We enjoyed walking through a half dozen buildings on the property including a vintage school room, a small church, a blacksmith shop and a few vintage structures filled to the brim with interesting antiques and collectibles for sale. The highlight of our afternoon was an incredible home-cooked, family-style Chicken Dinner with all the fixins in the candle-lit dining room of the site's turn-of-the-century farmhouse. Jerry is the gregarious owner and host, as well as chief cook and bottle washer of this awesome village of vintage buildings that he relocated to this bucolic site. He is a chef with a life-long passion for antiques and all things antiquarian. Jerry's passion and good-natured love of life is immediately felt as you meet this country gentleman. After our magnificent dinner, Jerry capped off our visit by giving us a buggy ride through the fields in a vintage Amish-style carriage pulled by a smart nine year old Filly. What a day we had at the "Farm". For me, it was like stepping back in time and into a snapshot of life a hundred years ago. Thank you Jerry for your incredible Minnesotan hospitality. They have a discount for a family of 4 for only $25. Worth it! They have an interior with displays and an outdoor area with old buildings. It took about an hour to get through the museum. There's a couple of buildings and things to see outside of the main museum. They also have a great gift shop where I was able to get a couple of postcards! There's a free parking lot and in summer they have picnic tables in the courtyard. You can bring your own picnic lunch or they have a list of restaurants that'll deliver to the museum! When I visited the museum in summer 2020, they required your information for contact tracing. Not sure what covid-protocals they have in place now, but they definitely took it seriously! Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in Alexandria!
