I have a Giant TCR Composite 0 road bike I bought used from a friend back in 2010. I had knee surgery and heard that road biking would be good for recovery. It's a sweet bike. I moved to Miltona in 2020. Never had a tune up. This year, I went out for a ride and blew a tire going too fast over train tracks. I took it to Jake's Bikes to get a new tube. He gave it a good inspection and let me know I'd need new tires. My computer never worked for me so I asked him if he could fix it. He said he'd try but said he might need to put a new one on and I agreed. I decided to have him do a full tune up and just dial it in. My tape on the handle bars was coming off so I asked him to put a new wrap on it. It took a few weeks (exactly what he quoted) and I picked it up Friday. The price was what I expected based on what he told me. He itemized all the labor and parts, which I really appreciated. He really went above and beyond. I just went for my first ride this morning. Sad to say, Jakes Bikes dissapointed us greatly.We really shopped and researched EBIKES.As they are $$$$$ We are elderly and our concern was having great support and service.After we bought the ebike the decline began The service took a nose dive after the 2ond summer owning it The bike had very low mileage and somehow the chain fell off. Jake came out and in seconds it was fixed.The next day when my husband was goint to go ride,It would not even start. 1 WEEK later we recieved a bill for the ''CHAIN being put on track" IT WAS ALMOST $200.00!!!!! I was insulted,as he NEVER said that would be the cost.I was stunned when I emailed him and asked why so much He got defencive and stated he told us that is what he charges...I know that we are very cautious when we spend in a luxury.As my jusband is very economicly conservative,he would not do that without a discussion. I was very respectful and he became indignant,and said, that he was charging the fee anyways.It was so much to do a seconds work.He said the bikes are $$$$$$$ so is everything else so much because I sell $$$$$bikes.He did not care that after he left it did not even start! Really, don't you think it was common sence to just allow it to start.I spoke about my years of owning a retail store, and I was so successful becaise not only was I talented.I was never rude or dismissive to a client if they needed anything.When we sell anything thats only a small part,of having 1 sale or getting many!REFERALS ARE A RETAILERS STRONGEST TOOL IN NARKETING He ended up simply acting as if we were being needy and demanding.Stand behind the items you sell.Never argue and act justified in exploiting a vulnerable adult! I call that "cutting off your nose to spite your face. Too bad, I was going to also going to buy a bike,but now? NO. Went in to purchase a bike for son, that would be new or used. The frame for a 24" wheel will be the same material but add components that better. $449 to $699 is little extreme for a kids bike. Used bikes for $300-349 is also extremely high. They are used not certified Lexus. Spoke with the employee about a used bike as my wife was trying to ride and correct gears in the parking lot. I ask if the price was negotiable. He said no we refurbished them with all new parts. Looking at a rusty chain and other rusty parts. As my wife was correcting the gears in the parking lot another employee came out ask her he could get her a adult bike. She told him that she testing the bike for my son. Ma'am you know there a weight limit for those bikes? 135 to 150 lbs max! Funny she she weighs 141lbs. Jake maybe employee training would be a beneficial to your business! Was going to make a purchase but I'm going to wait for Alex Bike shop open tomorrow and buy a new specialized bike for a kid $349. read more

I called the shop this afternoon looking for a part for a used bike I bought this morning. The guy that answered the phone helped me determine what I needed by interpreting "dohickey" and "thingamajig". He identified the crank arm I needed and checked inventory. He confirmed the price. I told him I'd be there after lunch. About an hour and a half later I drove the 35 miles and walked in with the stripped crank arm in my hand. He had the new one at the desk. Unfortunately I forgot my wallet, but he was able to take a credit card over the phone from my wife. He even put the old pedal on the new crank arm for me. Great service. Very friendly. read more

we were lucky enough to get Jake personally, and he spent almost two hours helping us, grabbing and finding multiple bikes, for multiple members of the family. we ended having found something for everyone, but as we were traveling we were unable to buy said bikes and gear. This is sad, and I am sorry on my part, but at the very least he helped us all and we now know exactly what we want. would gladly recommend whenever. not sure how to make this not sound like a fake review, but ‍‍. read more

The staff was awesome! From the minute we walked in the door we felt welcomed. The sales guy Carter was very helpful, explained the ins and outs to us on a few different bikes and let us take them for ride for a few blocks. They promptly outfitted the bikes and we were able to pick them up the next day - (because we failed to bring our bike carrier ) when we did comeback to pick up our bikes they assisted with loading them. I am on an extended bike tour from Florida and I just dropped in for a pair of gloves. This is a top-notch bike shop with extremely knowledgeable staff. I walked in here to get a repair, walked out with a brand new bike because they let me look without pressuring me. I wish they offered a free basic fit other than, 'here go ride it'. they did quickly install the bar tape I got with the bike, and did the repair on my other bike for free! read more

We stopped in here to check out their used bikes. We were up to Alex on vacation and saw they had some out front. What junk. They wanted $250 for a used kids Trek "24 with rust, ripped seat, and shredded grips. Seriously? How do they expect to draw in new customers. Makes you wonder what kind of repairs they do if they cant fix a few things on a used bike before turning it around and selling it. Had these few things been in good order we might have purchased it. As we were outside 2 employees walked by us to go BS on the front lawn. Went inside and not even a hi or can we help you. Loaded the family up and left. Would not go back. read more

this people are pretty shady. i went into the store knowing what size I ride, so Jake himself lied to me and told me the bike a size too small was my size - when the bag with the book said the too small size on the outside, the jerk claimed it was for different bike. they didn't take the time to set me up on the bike in the store - for good reason, HE LIED. i couldnt get comfortable on the bike and finally went to a different store - they told me the bike was indeed the smaller, WRONG size. what jerks. several thousand dollars that they cheated me out of, looked me in the eye and lied to me.
