I stopped in yesterday to ask some questions about a tattoo and and get a piercing. I had been contemplating a nose ring for years and finally decided to get it done. Walked in and the young lady wasn't the warmest or friendliest but she was very informed. She answered several questions but it required probing and and additional follow up questions in order to get more clarification. ** When someone is making a decision to alter their appearance. It should be understood that apprehension and comfort are needed*** Anywho ..back to the review I selected a stone and once again needed to ask additional questions about the materials they were made from, sizes and pricing. Wasn't sure if price was included in selection or was it on top of piercing fee. Once I got that done and completed the forms I had approximately a 25 minute wait. 3 people were ahead of me. The waiting area isn't large and the seating is limited. During my visit 2 families came in with children to get work and the women literally had to sit on the floor to complete the forms. Finally when it was my turn Mike called me and we went to the room. VERY nice and VERY clean! Mike was VERY nice! He is heavily pierced and has a great personality. He wants you comfortable and he wants to answer any and all questions ... along with giving you a good experience. He explained everything as he did it, made sure I was doing alright. He said, " No, not really." My friend was taking her daughter here for a nose piercing, so I decided, why not?! They have a fairly simple online appointment booking process. They do explain you must a mask while you are in the shop and have been vaccinated or have a negative COVID test within 24 hours of your appointment. We did receive an email with additional steps and online forms that needed to be completed prior to our appointments as well which eliminates the need for paper forms. When we arrived the day of our appointment, they were ahead of schedule and they texted us to let us know that. Even though they said no "hand holders" were allowed in the room with the "patient", they did allow my friend to sit in with her daughter, then her daughter sat in with me. We picked out the nose rings we wanted first and they have lots of options to choose from for all different styles. Sarah was our piercer and she was lovely. She explained everything very well and made us very comfortable. She walked us through everything and when it came time to "pok" she made it very easy and calming. My best friend and I had wanted to get a nostril piercing for awhile, but COVID hit and we forgot about the idea. Another friend of mine got hers done a few weeks back and texted me about it, and it reminded me of the plans my best friend and I had never made. When my friend raved about her experience and explained it all to me, I texted my best friend and we booked right away!! Booking is very easy and you do it online. They have tons of time slots open and multiple employees. We had Sarah, but they all were kind when we were there. We booked for 2:10 and 2:20. As of 3/2022, they text you when you can come in. Since they knew it was my best friend and I together, they allowed us to be a pair. I appreciated this as we were a little sad when they said only one person at a time. For the nostril piercing you look at the jewelry first, and the front desk worker helped us pick the right sizes for our noses. There is such a great variety!! You should always go smaller because it will look much bigger. They were very knowledgeable about this and steered us in the right direction. Some of the pieces are 18k gold, so they are a lot more expensive than the simpler studs-- but this is not cheap mall jewelry-- they supply quality stuff. We went together in back with Sarah and she was very efficient about the whole process. They draw a tiny dot on your nose for positioning, then you lay back and relax. She kept the conversation going and was full of good vibes. The whole process was comfortable for my best friend and I. She went over the aftercare as we went and let us know we can always call if we have any questions. The piercing itself was $35 + your jewelry of choice. You have to wait 4-5 months to change out the jewelry, and we will be back-- and may get the other side done ;) I also plan to get the more expensive piece I had my eyes on. We were very pleased with Cowpok and had such a nice afternoon together. I know they have a tattoo studio too, so who knows... I may be back even sooner. I got my nose pierced here last year and the only reason im giving them a 4 star review is because upon walking in and looking at the piercing jewelry they offer and the pricing of the piercing itself, they almost expected me to read their mind and know the prices. and when i asked about it, i was rudely told what the prices were and it was just a very weird vibe in the lobby. i didnt feel welcomed at all. but once the piercer herself took me in the back to do the piercing she was incredibly nice and comforting, it took the edge off of getting my first face piercing. she did an amazing job and i had no problems with the healing process. read more

I have had a couple of ear piercings here (2 by mike, 1 by Keith) and recently I came to mike to get my rook pierced. They told me to put nothing on it and to just let the water run onto my ear in the shower and to dry it off afterwards with a blow drier, when in the past when I got the other piercings they had piercing soap. I don't know what the issue was, but despite me taking great care of my piercing, it got infected about a month after it had been pierced. I called cowpok and wanted to ask some questions about what to do with an infected piercing, and the lady on the phone was immediately defensive. As soon as I said I had an infection, she blurted out that you can only get an infection from "not taking very good care of your piercing" which is literally not true but whatever. I then asked what would happen if I took it out and she said they don't recommend it, I asked what would happen and she told me the infection could isolate itself. I asked what the risks would be if this were to happen and she straight up was just like "it would... like... be bad", like she didn't know at all. I then went online and asked if my piercing looked okay placement wise and everyone told me that it was too shallow and angled weirdly. I think this is why the piercing kept turning over to the wrong side, because it did that almost constantly. I've had good experiences at cowpok before but this was disappointing to me. Side note, when you have a piercing infection, DONT go to urgent care. They forced me to have my piercing taken out and I've been told that's NOT what you want to do. (Also it was the most painful thing I've EVER been through) TL;DR Cowpok girl on the phone was not too good at her job and pretty rude, don't go to mike for a rook piercing I guess. (He's a good guy, and he did my helix piercing just fine, but.. just saying.) read more

Mike talked to me, explained everything of what was going to happen, opened packages in front of me, and encouraged me to ask questions. The experience with him was a mixture of being with your MD, your priest and your best friend. When he was finish, the result was perfect looking. My over all experience with the two of him, was I felt I was in a safe environment, with people who really cared about me and wanted me to be satisfied and get what I came for. The shop was great. I asked for a jewelry change for a piercing I already had (not from them) and they did it no questions asked. The same day, I got a tattoo by artist Jay Galvin. He was attentive, friendly enough, and worked with me on everything I asked for. The shop was clean, music in the back was great, and the walls were covered in art done by the artists so it's safe to say it was a good experience. The tattoo came out beautiful and overall I was happy. My only complaint is the wrap they use to cover the tattoo afterwards. It's some sort of special clear bandage that adheres to the skin, almost a mix between Saran Wrap and a bandaid. I was told to leave it on for three days or as close to three days as possible. Seemed questionable but I was given an info sheet on the special type of bandage it was and Jay assured me that if I had any questions I could reach out and that "no tattoo question is a stupid question." After leaving on the bandage for one day my skin was extremely red, the liquid inside of it (completely normal to have liquid) started leaking out and staining my clothes, and a horrid smell was coming from it. I decided that I couldn't wait the other two days. When I removed the bandage I had a bunch of red, pus filled bumps and my arm was sore and enflamed all around the tattoo. I immediately reached out to Jay and he got back to me within twenty minutes with advice, and an offer for me to come in and have him take a look at it. Overall I'm very pleased with his work and hope that it will heal properly after whatever reaction is occurring subsides. read more

Sadly writing this. I have gotten all my piercings here anlways except when I was a young girl (my first 2 earlobe holes) I have 19 in total. Only gone a few times for an earring change but when I did I had no issues. Well recently I've needed a MRI and when I put my rook piercing heart shaped earring back in it wasn't perfect but it didn't bother me. Well it turned to the inner heart area and is extremely painful and will usually turn back when I move it and it just won't pudge so I need help getting it out and she refused me because I didn't have an appointment. I've never had the issue before with needing an appointment and as I understand this new rule and respect that typically I'm actually having a big issue and she couldn't even be bothered to get off her stool to go see if someone can squeeze me in with this particular situation. Would have taken 5 minutes tops !!!! Like seriously! And lose the attitude lady!! read more

listen, I love the staff and they have always been kind to me but there needs to be a different solution to broken jewelry. I came in about 3 months ago spent $500 on 5 pieces of jewlery, out of those 5 pieces, two have broken. leaving me at risk for my existing piercings to close. the first piece broke a week after I got it and the second broke 3 months after I got it. I haven't done anything to induce the breakage of the pieces. In my eyes a proper solution to the breakage of jewlery is for me to send my broken jewlery in, have them confirm breakage and then send me a new piece, along with a better attitude surrounding my compliant about the broken jewelry every-time I've called or gone in person they have been extremely snotty about the fact that my jewlery broke and I was upset about it. but instead I have to send in my piece, wait two months, then pay for them to send it back to me even though it is their fault for selling faulty product. so on top of the $500 I already spent I am spending $35 more extra dollars for shipping on a product I already paid for. I truly did love cowpok, but the fact that my "luxury" jewelry keeps breaking is just really ridiculous. after everything gets fixed I will be taking my business somewhere else. I want to clarify that not all the staff is rude, the guy who actually pierced me was extremely welcoming, but I cannot say that for the rest of the staff. Before my daughter could talk I knew 2 things: First, that I would take her to get her ears pierced only if and when she asked, and second, that I would only take her to a reputable piercing parlor to get them done. I've heard too many horror stories about the gun used at places in the mall. She finally asked so we made it part of her Christmas this year. You have to be 6 to get your ears pierced at Cowpok and one of the things I love the most is that they absolutely make sure that your child is not being pressured into getting the piercings. The child signs their own consent forms, and when we were brought back to the private room for the procedure, the piercer Greg directed 90% of his questions at her. He made sure she was completely comfortable and that it was a choice she wanted to make. He made sure she was happy with the placement of the dots and that I was as well and took his time to make sure my daughter was comfortable and calm. They use a sterile needle to pierce each ear separately. The ear is clamped and pierced with the needle and then the earring is placed. My daughter had the pick of many varieties of earrings as well which she loved! Lots of choices and price points. The earrings are good quality and have balls on the back as opposed to regular backs that can poke. Once he did one ear he let her hop down and see the earring and made sure she was ready before proceeding. After it was done he went over all the care with us. Forget everything you learned about taking care of fresh piercings-no spinning or twisting and no peroxide. Leave them alone and calm with hot tea bags for a bit each day. It's been a month and my daughter's ears look great and she hasn't complained about pain at all. I am so happy with our choice to visit Cowpok for such an important appointment. I've gotten three cartilage piercings, a nose piercing, and several earring changes at Cowpok and not only are they polite, professional and friendly, this is by far the cleanest place (including most doctors offices) in WNY. All tools are pre-packaged with an antiseptic close by (even for an earring change). They are exceptionally educated in their field and they make you feel safe and comfortable. I made the mistake of going to another piercing place by my old work only to deal with weird (not particularly attractive) piercing earrings, infections, and awkward, intimidating service.
