Walked in to this store and was greeted immediately. I never realized how many brands they carry in clothes and boots. Walked out with a new Brumate cup and 2 nice shirts for a gift. Looks like the reviews for this place are either stellar or horrible. Well, let me add a good one. I was on the hunt for some western boots. Let me mention that I have rather fat feet and huge calves. So I thought the easiest would be to get a pair of those ankle boots, so they don't have to encompass my huge calves. Well I found some I liked, but the foot bed was so narrow, it hurt. One of the employees approached me to see if I needed help and indeed I did. I told her my problems. She wasn't sure and went to ask someone else. He came over and let me know that the store did not carry wide with in the ankle boots and he didn't think they existed. He offered mid high boots and I doubted that I would fit into any, but he talked me into trying it. The boot was exactly the look I was going for and wouldn't you know it was a perfect fit. He explained what I needed to watch out for in future purchases. where the boot should hug the foot and where it should be a bit roomier. The price was reasonable too, so I said yes to the boots. I came out of the store with a great pair of boots and a lot more knowledge. read more

I lived in Texas for 23 years, so I assumed that I could find a pair of boot cut khakis easily! I was so wrong!! After looking on line and calling two other local western wear stores, I called Cowpokes and got ahold of Bree (sorry if misspelled)!! She was incredible. Found the exact Ariat pants I had been searching for and a belt! She is mailing my purchases to my home! I couldn't ask for better customer service, because she is the BEST! Cowpokes had all of the Western wear you could ever want! Everything from attire (cowboy/cowgirl boots, shirts, jeans, hats, etc.) to horseback riding equipment. I went in looking for some boots and it turns out I was in the right place. Cowpokes has over 5,000 boots in the store, so needless to say they had a fantastic selection. They had a wide range of prices, the lower end starting at just over $100. The higher end boots (several hundred dollars) were made of different types of animal skin and were truly works of art. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for a pair of boots or Western wear! read more

I saw Cowpokes mentioned on the news and have visited the store in the past. I went on line and found a pair of boots that I liked and had some questions about size and fit. I called the store and Sherree took the time to answer my question about whether or not the boots ran small. She also got a tape measure to see I the calf would be wide enough. When the boots arrived, I was thrilled with them, and if they ever wear out, I will be going back to them for another pair. read more

I guess im used to southern hospitality or just country charm. I stopped in here and grabbed a hat and a shirt as i was leaving for Florida to get married. I asked if I could get a box for the hat to make the trip and the guy said rudely it's only an 85 dollar hat. Along with the 50 dollar shirt I purchased i wouldnt think an extra cardboard box would hurt them. I guess if you put city people in country clothes they still act like rude city people. In Texas I can get a box for a 20 dollar hat on the side of the road. One star for selection but let's be honest. The rude people working here, witch are the only good comments you see posted on yelp( that's right they are employees post on here) make this one store worth passing up without regret. read more

Walking in the store, there's no greeting from employees because they are to busy telling stories amongst themselves. No help the entire time we were there from anyone. When we do find what we are looking for and go to checkout the employees behind the counter were rude and not helpful at all. Bought a pair of boots that fit in store but took them home wore them twice hoping my insole would make up the half inch difference. They didn't fit so I took them back within the 30 day return window per the store policy. They refused to take them back even for an exchange because they said they'd been worn. But I didn't damage them or wear them down in a noticeable way? Won't be buying anything here again because of this experience. Staff was nice! read more

I've lived in the area for almost 15 years and have never been to this store before; however, my daughter and her boyfriend wanted to go and look at their boots so I tagged along. While they were busy looking, I decided to browse around. I saw this sweater that jumped out, but I didn't want to buy it on impulse so I decided to think about it. The customer service wasn't the greatest, but my daughter found what she was looking for and we left. After a week passed, I couldn't get the sweater out of my mind and decided to go back and buy it. The customer service was even worse than the last time I went, as far as greeting and service. I went straight to the sweater, but they didn't have it in my size. I went to the counter to ask the only worker I was able to find to ask about my options for getting it. She wasn't all that helpful and didn't offer any advice so I inquired about ordering it through their online site. I was told it could be ordered online as long as the item was in stock. Luckily, she informed me it was in stock and in the size I wanted (there was around 25 available). Once the order was placed, I was told I would receive an email that my merchandise had arrived at the store. No other information was provided to me and I was already irritated with the poor service so I paid with cash and walked out of the store. As I sat in my vehicle looking over my receipt, I realized I was overcharged for the sweater (by more than $50) and the receipt showed my merchandise would be in around 10-14 days. Since the service was so horrible, I didn't feel like going back in to ask about the price discrepancy and figured I would get it straightened out when the sweater came in. Two weeks pass and I still haven't received any communication at all regarding my order so I called the store to inquire about the status of the merchandise. The person I needed to talk to had just left for the day so I had to wait another 2 days. She was pretty prompt with getting back to me; however she wasn't very knowledgeable about the situation so I had to explain what had transpired and having to place my order through their site and she said she would have to get back with me. She called me the next day and informed me that they never received the merchandise I ordered, the item was currently out of stock, and the company (Ariat) was no longer going to be supplying or selling the item I wanted. So many questions came to mind, too many to ask over the phone, as this was really disappointing and irritating because now I had to go back to the store to get my money back instead of picking up my merchandise. The customer service was slightly better this time; however, after I said I wanted my money back, I was asked if I was sure I didn't want to "just purchase something else." This happened in November...it is now January and I'm sure you could imagine my shock, frustration, and disappointment when I happened to get on Ariat's website, and low and behold they have the sweater (in my size, and at the correct price I should have originally paid for back in November).
