Dinner by the sea.....check Good food.....check Good service.....check Romantic scene.....check This place is a must try when staying at Shangri-la Mactan. If you want to step up your romance, they have a table for 2 only at the end of the walkway. The dining area and the restobar are both overlooking the sea. You can't go wrong on their menu. On a perfect weather, this is a perfect place to dine.

It was raining when we got out of the taxi and was met with two guys, one guy let me borrow his umbrella for 20 pesos. The other guy escorted us to the shrine and was our little tour guide, which you don't need but hey, why not. We walked down the small street and turned right. The first restaurant will try to get you to look at their seafood. I kept walking because I already knew that restaurant gave me stomach pains. The next restaurant was Manna. Seafood was fresh, counters were clean and the restaurant was as well. Great service. The waiters were very attentive and nice! They understand English and speak it slow. The owner speaks very good English. I ordered 1/2 kilo prawns and had it cooked in garlic chili sauce. Trust me I've been to many restaurants. This took me my surprise. Prawns were tender, fresh and tasty. I know my prawns and I know how fresh they are by the juiciness of the head. Then I ordered 3/4 kilo lapu lapu and they did suggest cooking it sweet and sour, I declined and asked to just have it grilled. I'm so glad that I did. The taste of the grill smokiness and the fish were great. Don't forget to do your sauce mix. Ask for chili and calamansi.. then mix vinegar, soy sauce, calamansi and squeeze those chilis. Mmmm. No need for sweet and sour sauce. Fish was super fresh, tender and not fishy. Lastly, the guso!!! My fiancé never had this and loved it! They washed it thoroughly. No sand, didn't have seawater at all so you know they took good care of preparing your food. They put in vinegar, onions and tomatoes. It was a perfect blend. Could barely taste the vinegar. It was great. Crunchy and fresh. Not too big and not slimy at all. So with the prawns, fish, 2 mango shakes, sprite and 1 San Miguel, we only paid $1,500 pesos. What a deal?!!!!

Situated in Cordova at Barangay Buagsong lies the infamous "bakasihan" who founded by Tatay Entoy. He's the father of "bakasihan eatery ". From Cebu City, we travelled 51mins. via single motorcycle. And I'm telling you, better pat sunscreen coz the heat from the sun is too much. LoL. T'was almost 2pm and the place is still packed with patrons eating in big groups. Crowded yet we still manage to find a table to dine-in. FOOD. "Nilarang na Bakasi" (tiger reef-eel stew) - tasty & a bit of savory side. It is made in a spicy and sour coconut milk-based broth with garlic, red onions, tomatoes, fermented black beans, chilis & sour fruits. T'was indeed a steal when visiting Cordova! Fried Bakasi - crispylicious fried fish which you can easily eat its bone. Taste better when dipped on sauce (combination of soy sauce, vinegar/calamansi & chili). Saang - they steamed it and the saltiness from the ocean make it a great sign that t'was freshly caught. Imbao Soup - one of Cebu's delicacy that's also rampant in Cordova. The soup is so hearty the moment you slurp it. It has its own distinctive sweet taste that even without any seasoning, it's sure taste yummy. Imbao meat is a little bit gooey especially if it's a lil bit large. Lato "sea grapes" - is fresh as well but they really don't clean it thoroughly. Still a must when feasting seafood. Don't forget dipping it on a vinegar. Ginisang Octopus - t'was good! Savory and every bite is delicious. Meat is perfectly cooked and not really gooey. They make it a bit spicy which add kicks to it. Takeout: Ginisang shrimp - t'was perfectly cooked and the saltiness balanced to its sweetness. It also has its nice texture to it. Halang-Halang in the form of seashells meat (don't know what kind of seashell is it) is the perfect "pulutan" for people chillin' with beer. Spicy and undeniably Onolicious! Our juander Cordova seafood feast is both filling and economical. For $17.50 t'was one of the best seafood mukbang I ever tasted. With a panoramic view of the ocean's vastness you'll truly enjoy the oldest and most popular eatery serving bakasi in town. Customer service is superb. They were so helpful and friendly. They put that welcoming smile that even though they were tired they still able to show their welcoming aura. Indeed a must visit eatery when you visit Cebu City. Don't expect a luxury style of service, you can't find it here. Know that this is a homestyle eatery that will bound to feel you at home. Mahalo for reading and happy juandering fellow yeeps!

Bucket Shrimps offers a cajun flavour which has been fine tuned to Filipino taste buds. It is a bit sweeter and absolutely bowl licking tasty. It can be spicy or non-spicy. There is also garlic butter flavour. As the name suggests, they offer buckets of shrimps. But it does not end there, you can get crab, mussels, bbq pork, liempo as well. So you can get both seafood and grilled pork items. Eat this with rice. There may be more on the menu, but we stuck to the above. The concept is similar to restaurants offering cajun seafood boiled in plastic bags, but instead of serving the food in boiled plastic bags (which I have to admit is rather unappetizing), this place serves them in appetizing looking buckets :). There are no utensils provided, they give you gloves. There are no plates provided, you just put the food straight on the plastic table cover. You can order beer here as well. Everything was scrumptious and the location is just so unique for North American Standards, like an old school carinderia street food, with no quality being compromised. Kamayan style, street food style, this place is really a different and fun dining experience!!! Note: there may be kids who may come in and ask you to buy their items. This might take away from the tranquility of eating your food in peace.

Though I am not a local, I've literally been coming here for 20+ years when I'm home in Dumaguete. This place I also associate with home because my grandma's house was literally two doors down and we would come here to eat. This place will always share a special piece of my heart as my dad would frequent this place and eat here everyday when he was staying next door. For years my dad would bring his guests here and they would not disappoint. If you want good food, and even better company - rest assured you'll find it here. Shout to the staff and management who cared for my dad, Dodong Manny Garcia, as their own and fed him well. The Garcia family loves this place! Ambiance: you can bring a date, your family, or party with your friends on their live music nights. This place is poppin' and clean. I feel safe here - their bathrooms are clean and their service is excellent. the beautiful thing about this place is that it can even host big parties. We've even had tables of 16+ people accommodations for us. Seating: You have plenty of choices. Downstairs by the stage. Upstairs with a great view of the beach.Bar seating. And even indoor seating in Lab-as. Take your pick! Food: Tapsilog always a fave. They have extremely fresh fish and sell it by the pound. It is soooo tasty I cannot. I love their LapuLapu and an all-around fave is the Bangus lumpia. Fresh mango shakes and calamansi are a must. Alcohol: Take your pick. They have top shelf and local beer. They make extravagant drinks with flames and everything! Drinks here are IG worthy alongside the food. You will go home well fed and nourished. Parking: Be smart about it - there's a lot in the front that people are willing to help park (you're expected to tip) and even better it's not so clustered like it is in South point... this place literally giives you everything you need! Do yourself a favor and stay awhile...enjoy this place and Hayahay through the night because you will be more than impressed by this place. It is a must go to in Dumaguete!
