I've been wearing cowboy boots my whole life, and I've come to expect a certain level of quality and durability from them. Unfortunately, my experience with a pair I purchased from Cowtown Boots in Tempe, Arizona, in February of twenty twenty-four has been nothing short of disappointing. I was on a business trip to Arizona and decided to pick up a nice pair of boots while I was there. I had been wearing Ariats at the time, but I wanted something different and knew Cowtown made their own brand of boots. While I hadn't necessarily heard great things about them, I was familiar with the name and figured they'd be a good choice. Nine months later, I'm regretting that decision. The soles now have multiple holes, and the heel flaps are coming off. For context, I live on twenty acres in Montana, but I don't do heavy ranch work--these boots are worn for everyday use. Typically, I get about two of solid wear out of a pair before needing repairs. Seeing these fall apart after less than a year of light use is shocking. I reached out to the store where I purchased them, and they referred me to corporate. When I called corporate, I was essentially told there's nothing they can do--no warranty, no acknowledgment of the premature wear, and no offer to make it right. They did offer to re-sole them, but only if I paid out of pocket. I understand no one can guarantee how long a product will last, but to hear "that's just the way it is" after explaining my long history with boots and reasonable expectations was frustrating. It's clear Cowtown Boots isn't standing by its products or its customers. I'm writing this not to vent, but to call attention to what seems like a drop in quality and customer care. For a company with such a strong reputation in the Western wear community, I expected much better. I hope they take this feedback seriously and reconsider how they handle these situations. Until then, I can't recommend these boots--or the company--to anyone who expects reliability and customer support to match the price tag. read more

Had a return receipt for boots returned quite a few years ago. OK, I'll give it a try. Found some boots I liked. Took the receipt to the check out. Young male said it might be possible to get the receipt accepted...an ink signed signature from the return date still clearly visible, the return amount readable but very faint. He called the office, they said probably it would be OK because the inked signature was from an employee (I think it might even have been an owner or family member), hold the boots overnight, let the office review the receipt. Come back tomorrow. Well. The reason they couldn't honor the receipt was because they had no computer record of it (yes, I said it was a while ago) but they said the person who signed the receipt was known and she did work there. (Not sure if she STILL worked there-but they hesitated with that partial sentence). No bueno. NO boots. They kept the receipt, too. Something seems to be a bit fishy; I feel it should have been honored since they admitted to knowing the person who signed it, but blamed not having a computer record of the transaction as their excuse. Very disappointing and unfair, to me. You be the judge. I do not recommend them because of this. It sounded lame and like they needed the overnight to come up with some cockamamie excuse for not giving me the $57 credit I should have gotten. Nice boots, but no sale. Their loss. Yeah, they made $57 years ago...interest alone would have made it worth their while to say yes. read more

Read the yelp reviews and got a recommendation to go there for some western boots. The selection is good. Lots of styles and sizes. Prices range from $65 to $400. As soon as I entered a boot salesperson asked if i need some help. I told him later after I browse around a it. Ultimately, I found a pair of Justin's for $169. But there are three different cuts and three different widths with in my size range. I asked for help, The guy was not very helpful. After some self evaluation and deduction the fit of the boot has a lot to do with the size width and angle of your foot. I had five pairs of the same boot color but different sizes, widths and cut. I think I chose the right one. The store has a big selection of hats and other western wear too. The belts were OK but lacked a selection in size. Lot's of kids and ladies boots. read more

This place is pretty awesome if you're looking for nice boots at a discounted price. My fiance had told me about it so we went to check it out. They sell western apparel, boots, accessories BUT they also sell work boots for both men and women. They have everything in childrens sizes as well which is so cute! When we went, the lady was very pleasant & nice. She offered help but did not hover over us as we shopped. That is a plus in my book because I completely dislike when sales associates or workers are hovering over you as you try to shop. They have a variety of sizes ranging from regular, narrow and wide. Yelp reviewers were right about this place. It's huge! This place is a warehouse of country western goodies. While in AZ, I tried to get myself a pair of cowboy boots. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I walked into the establishment and was greeted by a friendly cowboy / staff member. I told him what I was looking for and he took me to the section. There must have been 50-75 pairs of cowboy boots in my size. Prices ranged from $50-150 per pair. They have brands like Ariat, Justin, Cowtown, and many more! I ended up not buying a pair of shoes because they did not have exactly what I was looking for. Although they had a lot of shoes, 80%+ were of the Cowtown Boot. I had hoped that they would have carried a bit more of a selection of name-brand shoes, and not their own line. read more

Quite possibly thee worst customer service by Chassel the supposed store manager. Went in to purchase a pair of boots they had a scuff mark on them asked the assistant manager who was cashier if they could do a discount she said to let her speak to Chassel the store manager. Chassel came up and said that boot cream would fix the issue she looked and there was no match for it. She then rang us up and said she was going to the back to try to fix the boot with some cream they had. My dad walks back there and sees them mixing boot creams and was like I don't want them now that they have swatched all kinds of colors on them. Chassel responded with well there are no returns. My dad said you took my boots and made them worse and now you don't want to do a return she got angry and responded all loud NO Returns. My dad got upset and said so you mess with my boots and now this ? So she got upset and told us to get the hell out of her store and said I'm Kicking you out. Talk about poor professionalism immediately called corporate and stepped outside and spoke to Joe. She walked outside to the parking lot and told us she was kicking us out and calling the police while I was on the phone with Joe from corporate. He told me to please excuse him and he would take care of it I got off the phone and believe she was dealt with. Went here to buy boots for the rodeo. Let's be clear. I listen to hip hop. I identify country music by songs with a guitar and/or talking about beer. I know nothing about Cowboys other than the NFL team I despise and that they wear Wranglers. I'm going to the rodeo tomorrow because my bestie is making me, not because it's my life dream. I found this place on Yelp, and went down to check it out. I arrived 15 minutes before closing, unintentionally (which I'm sure thrilled them but I definitely couldn't tell - they were super nice). So, I walk in in my Nike high tops - all hip hopped out, and say I need help. The young woman that helped me was awesome. She listened to exactly what I was looking for and found the best boots for me. She picked out a few styles that were best for my feet and what I was looking for. In the end, I had two options that I loved, a more traditional one and a better option for comfort (I went with comfort). I didn't spend a fortune, but got high quality stuff I was very happy with. They had a large selection of boots and some were very cool and unique. She was very helpful and explained all sort of things to me, like those hooks you use to pull boots on and that cool thing you use to take them off (both of which they sell there). For someone totally ignorant to this style, who only bought this stuff to be respectful of this culture at the rodeo, I was really impressed that they didn't judge me at all. Well, they judged me a little when I didn't know who George Strait was (I googled him after), but were still nice about it. What's so funny is that I've always been curious about country folk, kind of like they are zoo animals that are super cute and cool to observe, but I could tell they viewed me the same way. Kind of funny how that works, LOL. Regardless, this city girl will be looking super cute at the rodeo thanks to them. If you need boots, go visit them! P.S. I also read this was in the ghetto in a different review. UM, clearly that person has never been to the ghetto. I bought some new boots for my son for Christmas. There were never used, except for him to try them on Christmas morning (on carpet). They did not fit him, so I wanted to return them. I was told that they do not refund and that it's a corporate policy. Interestingly enough this policy is written nowhere on the receipt beneath the heading, Return Policy. Went in with good intention of finding the right work boot, as I walked in I'm greeted as any customer should be but I could feel a glare coming from the group of either regulars or the family that owns the place. My wife and I were followed thru out the store but not asked if we needed any actual help so we continued to browse for my boot, I find the pair! As I sat down to try on and get a feel for the boots, two older gentlemen found their way behind us just to maybe see how we were doing? No we felt as if we were being sized up, the men stood behind us talking about firearms and who had which one; I get it's an outdoors store but the men were fully aware of what they were doing and making my wife and I feel, uncomfortable. Then one of em said "you shouldn't have a problem, you're mixed". Yep. If they had a lower score on this scale I would have chosen it. I bought a pair of "Cowtown" boots at this outlet last fall and left them at Scottsdale so I didn't have to pack them on the plane. The salesman had convinced me to try their brand even though I had come in to look at Justin or Ariat boots which I usually wear. I left with two pairs of boots. I managed to wear one pair of their Cowtown boots on 5 occasions when I felt something different with the boot. When I looked down one of the heels had fallen off the boot while walking. I went back where I had traveled and near the vehicle, I found the other heel. Neither had been glued on and the nails just pulled out, I have never seen that in 50 years of wearing boots so I took them back to the store in Tempe. First I was told that I needed the "store receipt" from the purchase last fall. I told her that was a long shot after 8 months. Second I was told that they had a shoe repair guy they use and it would cost 28 bucks to try to fix the heels. Good for them to have a readily available repair person on hand if this is the quality that they sell. Finally, I was told that although it might be a factory defect with the heels (duh!!) they couldn't be sure if they were "their boots". I sort of suggested the "Cowtown label" on the boot made that statement sound stupid. So there I was, no warranty, no return policy, no repairs and junk boots at the Tempe Cowtown store. I suggested their "return policy" was a joke and left with a suggestion that I was likely throwing the boots in the garbage before spending money to fix a worthless product. My son has been going here for a few years but recently I decided that next year damnit I am going to country thunder and with that I need my first pair of cowboy boots. Well I am big in to America and I found a pair that I really liked. I called and had them hold them back and I would be in to try them on later. I got there and the amazing young lady that helped me first talked to me about the different boots and I told her it was my first time.. her eyes lit up and she smiled really big. She said she loves to see and help first timers. Lol that was me. She explained putting them on and what they should feel like and she had me walk the store several times always making sure she knew how they were feeling and how I was feeling in them. Ok, I walked into the stores and was surprised by the amount of boots they had in there. That is when the surprise ended and the disappointment started. Not one employee said anything to me. I always thought of it as courteous to. Say something, say welcome, hello, I will be with you in moment. So alone a went like owing for steal two work boots, found the at LAST!. Thought I was going to have an easy time , but I do not think they go by shoe size there. It must be a new way of organizing shoes. Everything was just intermingled with other sizes. So if you wear a size 10, and you THINK you found the right boot with the size you think it is, guess again, it is probably a 12 W. Why do they not put them in order? What a crappy why to do this. Must have a bunch of lazy people that just through where there is an empty spot. I think next I need boots I will find somewhere else to go. They were super helpful - I purchased a pair of boots from the El Paso Store as a gift and unfortunately they didn't fit my MIL as I had expected them too. I took my receipt into the Tempe store and the boots that had never been worn and they helped me exchange my boots right then and there with no problems they even got me an associate to help me locate the exact boot in their store. I was thrilled that all the stores communicate and uphold the same policies, my MIL was super happy with her boots also. read more
