Cox came out and repositioned the cable from my previous review and they finally got it right. So I will move them into the OK category for now. It appears fixed without any bad consequences-will wait and see. My review has gone from negative 5 stars to 4 stars now because it was fixed good like the picture shows before and after. But 1 star less for all the trouble I had to go through is fair I think. Does someone among my friends have a connection or experience that might help me get proper service by Cox Cable Company in Macon, Georgia? If so, please let me know who to contact to get a bucket up the pole to fix the problem. I have been a Cox customer for 50 years, first ten in my ex husband's name, last 40 in my name. When I retired 15 years ago, I bundled phone, t.v., and internet, and added 15 movie channels, expecting the expense to be my main entertainment in retirement. I started paying about $180.00 month and it is now $240.00 monthly. I've had trouble with the t.v. going down frequently requiring reboots, etc. for several years. In the last three months of 2024, I had four house calls. They have replaced the box several times. EOM November the technician climbed the pole, ran tests and said the men in the bucket needed to make the repairs; they would probably come at night and I didn't need to be available. They did not call to confirm a time, they did not send an email, they were not on the security system camera, but the records show they dropped by and left as no one was home. I have repeatedly told the various techs that it generally happens when it is raining or very cold. Since early November I have had to have a system reboot eleven times. Sometimes it works easy, but often it takes a service representative a half hour to get it done. It went down twice 1/1/25. The same tech came for his 2nd time, again climbed the pole, ran 5 test, and said 4 failed. He couldn't give us details as to WHY they never came with the bucket to repair, but acknowledged they did not make the repairs he requested. On Jan. 6th the t.v. went down again. Although the automatic reboot worked, Doug called and got someone named Erica. She set up a service call for today between 1:00 and 3:00. I just got a call from a technician with an accent. He (M. J.) said he couldn't fix it himself but would escalate the request for the bucket to come. I contacted Cox, and could not be connected to Erica. I explained everything to the service rep. He again said the request for the bucket would be escalated. I asked to talk to a supervisor. I was put on hold. No one came on the line as a supervisor. I am livid. UPDATE; Talked to another rep. This one listened to my whole deal. He explained the system better. It generally takes a full week for the bucket truck to come out. I do not need to be home. They do not inform me of anything. In three days I will call to view the status of the ticket. They can open up and tell me if they have been up the pole to fix it or if it is still pending (which it is now). I did tell the young man I will give it a week and if it isn't fixed I will contact the FCC and file a complaint. Still hoping someone will come up with a connection at Cox Cable to get it done. read more

I don't know of any other business that is run this poorly. The only consistency with Cox is that the internet consistently goes out multiple times everyday... and yes, I tried resetting the modem :/ read more

By far the worst ISP when it comes to quality of service to price. I had them when I lived Virginia and I could not stand them. I was completely disappointed to see they are the only viable option for internet in my area here in Middle Georgia. They are way over priced for what they offer. I pay for the highest internet speed package and hardly ever see the speeds I pay for. I am supposed to get up to 900mbps but will be lucky if I break 300mbps. Every time I bring this up to their customer service they try to milk more money out of me by getting me to rent there modem/router combo. I am sorry, I am already paying $150 a month for unreliable internet. Why would I want to waste my money on equipment that is just as terrible? Their next solution is almost always to replace my modem and router. At this point, I would have to replace them every month. On top of that, their service is so spotty. It is always randomly going down without explanation with nothing you are able to do to resolve it. Same thing every single time when I contact their customer service about it. "Did you reset your modem and router?", "What lights are on?", "Have you tried resetting your modem through our app?". Not a big deal expect they still ask me if I have done these thing AFTER I told them I had already done all of that. They better hope and pray another viable ISP does not come into my area because I would drop them so fast. It would be one thing if they were more reasonably priced, but $150 for this garbage? I had more reliable internet when I was working off of DSL in Turkey and they have routine power outages every week. My advice, if at all possible, avoid COX. Look for a more suitable and reliable ISP. They scalp the crap out of you for their spotty service and only offer, "we are sorry you are experiencing trouble" to make up for it. read more

My mother passed in November 2022. Cox is filing a claim against the estate for $278 against a deceased woman's children on a bill that was owed back in 2012. When I tried to call the Attorney's office who filed the claim on behalf of cox, they refused to accept payment unless I verified the deceased personal information (DOB, SS#). This is so demeaning of a company the size of Cox Communications to be this petty over an amount so little to their standards. I am so disgusted by this company & thought other's should know about this. read more

Worst customer support!!! If you can go with someone else, run to them. This is a long read but be aware: Two months ago I wanted to move my service to my new house, I went 10 days before my move and the lovely lady(no issues with her) told me the company has to unlock my address since it is a new service. Week went by I showed up to check on the service, my address still was not unlocked with Cox. I called the 800 number, the rep unlocked on the spot, sold me things I didn't ask for and I had to call back to remove some of the promotion sold to me. Day of my move, Cox shows up and after three hours says it appears it may rain we need to come back, left my house and called to tell me they will not return for 72 hours. And I had to call three to get 72 hours. I wasn't offered a discount, just the corporate we apologize. Now two months later I am paying $300+, my fiber cable that I paid $100 to install is still sticking out of the ground and I am sitting another 48 hours waiting for Cox to show up to look at the wire because I have no internet. I've called Customer Service just to get told if it was Spectrum it may take a week. No trying to see if one person may be open, no discounts offered. Now I am forced to see if anyone else covers this area. read more

TV is expensive but stable. Internet, on the other hand, is expensive and has terrible reliability. For months they claimed it was my house wiring and I needed their wiring service to repair. One rep actually told me my problem would be resolved if I upgrade to their highest tier internet. Finally determined it was a problem to our service area. Fixed it for a month. Now we have multiple outages throughout the day EVERY DAY. Many customers are looking at 5G internet or ATT Fiber if it's available. read more

I moved to Huntington East family housing in Warner Robins for 6 months and prior to accepting the contract I told the Cox rep (Glennkeith) that I did not want to sign a 12 month contract as I would be moving in 6 months he assured me that he would make sure I would not be held to a 12 month lease only to find out 6 months after terminating the service that I was in fact still liable for the 12 month contract!!! I turned in my equipment to the local store at termination time and asked again if my bill was satisfied, I was told yes so I went on my way. It wasn't until 6 months later I was checking my credit score that I found that I owed for the termination! This has negatively affected my credit score. If you will not need the service for a year Do not trust GlennKieth when he says you won't be liable! I am so angry because this has caused a blemish on my credit report! I do not recommend Cox or GlennKeith. Don't be fooled like we were!!! read more
