Bought a mini split system 4 weeks ago couldn't get it to work right called cox electric to get it fixed they came and fixed it was not using the remote right they charged me 250 dollars for a service call I don't think that is right I can't get upset with the technician he did what he had to do but will call to see if I can get my money back but so far not impressed read more

I had high hopes for Cox Electric after the owner came for a presentation. He was excellent and personable, but the installation process left a lot to be desired. 1. The base for the generator was described to me one way and was installed another way. When I reached out with questions or options I was generally blown off. 2. The electrician who did the work was unpleasant. He spit sunflower seeds all over my property during his time here and that included inside the transfer switch box! 3. For whatever reason they hacked my gutters that run straight into the ground off to install the transfer switch. They left it hanging off for over two weeks and I had to call repeatedly to get them come and fix it. They eventually came unannounced and did a terrible job. I had to call AGAIN to have them do it the right way. On top of that I had asked to be present for the second attempt of repair but they showed up unannounced again. I don't even consider the repair adequate because they used a plastic gutter piece to go into the ground. Plastic will be destroyed in the coming winters. Proper repair would of been to move the underground drainage pipe and have the gutter feed into it directly. 4. When we got to the final step ion start up, they abruptly left during the connection from there generator to the app on my smart phone after they couldn't resolve the issue. They literally gave me the manual and told me to call the number in there on my own because they couldn't figure it out.n They were in a rush to make their next appt. apparently. I called the number the next day and they walked me though everything perfectly. That being said, the startup team were very pleasant and friendly. They just an obligation to leave at a certain time I imagine. 5. For $10,000, I was surprised there wasn't more checking in on the install work and with me during the process. As far as I know, neither the owner or project manager inspected the work in person or even asked me if I was happy with everything. For 10k. you bet I'd be there during and after insuring my client was happy. Not frustrated. Again they talked a good game at the beginning, but I expected better service and overall the process was generally stressful. I was not a fan of having to reach out to them several times for clarifications or folllow-ups. A more proactive approach on their end would have been appreciated. I was pretty clueless about generator installs before this, and would of set clearer expectations for them during the project knowing what I know now. I will be using them to service the generator and will write a separate review for that when the time comes. read more

I don't write reviews as much as share my experience for others to utilize in evaluating a company. I have 25+ years in home design and project oversight. This project was out of my state so I had to source local contractors. Clint came and presented very well. I went over the scope of work to ensure a quote would accurately reflect the project to control cost. The problem was his inability and unwillingness to providetechnicians to do the work in a reasonable amount of time. Trying to get through to him was nearly impossible. Office workers would make certain assurances that more than one electrician and an apprentice would be coming as meeting deadlines was a must. Those promises were never kept, Clint couldn't care less. One day they sent two apprentices to the one licensed electrician which is against the law. So no surprise within an hour the inspector showed up and shut us down. Despite this they still didn't send additional people to ensure our project was completed. In the end we were a month overdue. A month that was completely avoidable if only Clint has strapped on a tool belt and pitched in to work vs the many vacations he took during that summer. I have to say for me it was one of the worst experiences I have ever gone through with a contractor. Totally unprofessional. read more

Called cox November 2nd to get an estimate on installing a standby generator. First available time for appointment was Friday November 30 at noon. Called early that morning to confirm the appointment and was told that I wasn't on the schedule, after a bunch of excuses was told someone could call me back next Monday. Missed a full day of work to meet them. If this is how they treat potential customers I wonder how they treat actual customers. I'll keep looking for other contractors that will actually show up when you make an appointment. read more

My mother ( who recently passed away ) had a contract with Cox Electric to have a GENERAC generator installed in her house.So seeing our mother has passed there was no need for the generator any longer my sister contacted them longing to cancel the contract, they told her that there would be a 20% restocking free.(which we understand it's in the contract). So with that we ask if they had purchased the Equipment seeing the job was not supposed to be done for a couple months! Never got Response on that question. So needless to say it took 4 to 5 weeks to get our deposit back, in the mean time my sister had contacted Cox electric a number of times asking about the refund we were told one time it would be in the mail tomorrow and never showed up. Again I understand the contract stated there was a restocking fee but really with the passing of our mother would have thought they would have made a exception ! Furthermore a company that needs a 50% deposit and it's not liquid enough to purchase the equipment I think it's rather a bad run company . read more

Cox Electric has been excellent! Their service tech Peter has been very helpful. We have used them since we have had the generator installed for annual maintenance. They also have installed upgrades from the Generac factory. Peter is patient And thoughtful and has always answered all of my questions. Our home is often unattended and the Generac system is a big part of our piece of mind while we are away. Cox and Generac have never failed us. The 8k system runs on propane and has a Cellular monitor. We can check status even when away. I highly recommend Cox and Generac! read more

Purchased the 22KW Generac system, Clint and his team of professionals were great! They walked me thru the entire process. They called when the proper techs were coming out, they also pulled all the necessary permits needed for a seamless install. Pete, the last guy that came in who fired up the system was great too! Since the reviews seemed so good, I had hoped to get a quote from this company for installing a generator in my home. HOWEVER, the communication and follow-up just to get an appointment seemed VERY DAUNTING and VERY DISORGANIZED, and with VERY POOR COMMUNICATION. I spoke to and made the appointment with CLINT THE OWNER for him to come out and provide a quote for the following Monday. A few hours later, I received a call from someone named Paula who proceeds to tell me that a $150.00 charge will need to be paid for a "design fee". I was very surprised to hear this since Clint never mentioned it and I thought he would just be coming out for a fairly brief visit to look at my home and give me his impression on where to install, type of equipment, etc. Paula also gave me the schpeel about how detailed their installation will be, how their communication is so top notch every step of the way, and that she would email me all the step-by-step information on the generator set-up. SHE NEVER SENT THAT INFORMATION but okay, maybe she just forgot since it was the week of Thanksgiving. But I didn't feel great about that phone call in terms of that fee so I called Clint a couple of days later. I asked him about the $150.00 design fee and asked why he never said anything to me about it. He said not to worry about it, it's something they're still deciding whether to do to weed out customers who aren't really serious about hiring them. I thought that was strange, I mean is it or isn't it a policy? And if it's not, why say anything to me about it if you haven't figured it out yet? He then apologized for the miscommunication and then confirmed our scheduled appointment for that following Monday. So Monday rolls around and I've waited 30 minutes past our appointment -- NEVER SHOWED, NEVER CALLED. I decided to call his office first and they said they had no appointment for me on their schedule. Then I called his cell and reached him, and he said he forgot about the appointment! He proceeded to say that when we last spoke, it was the Friday after Thanksgiving, and that he normally doesn't pick up the phone on holidays and that he must've just forgot. What?! You're the owner of a company! How do you forget speaking with a potential customer willing to spend thousands of dollars with you?! And not double-check your calendar after the phone call?! And to add insult to injury, they were still working out a new calendar system and mine must've fallen through the cracks, and that he would be happy to reschedule me for another day. Really? If they can't get an appointment set up properly, what would happen when I need to call them if something goes wrong with my generator? The way this guy does business wasn't going to work for me. The whole thing left me feeling very aggravated and I let him know that it's no way to start a customer/business relationship and I would be passing on his services. He WASTED A LOT OF MY TIME including me sitting here writing this review. But if people don't share their experiences then how are companies going to listen up and conduct themselves more professionally? Or not, the choice is theirs. Good luck to them. read more

No longer a reliable company. We have used Cox electric to service our Generac generator for past three years. I called for a service call to change the oil and filter. In early September, Cox scheduled my appointment 4 weeks ahead. When the day came and the technician wasn't here my wife called and was told the service call was switched to the following Saturday. The following Saturday came and went without a call or a technician.I e-mailed Devereaux Electric and they were here and service completed with in a week. read more

We had our 20kw Synergy Generator installed by Cox Electric one year ago and just had the first annual maintenance done on it by the company. We only lost power once since installing the generator, but as soon as it went off I counted to five and the generator kicked right in, as did the lights and the music and the TV and the computer and the stove and the hot water and the heat and the you-name-it. It all worked exactly like they said it would. And like a charm. We also received instant text and email reports of the changes in generator operating status. This has been one of the best purchases we've ever made, and Clint Cox and his company are top notch professionals who really do care about the service they provide and the products they offer. We had an issue with our propane connection in which there was apparently a bubble in the line that occurred when they connected the generator to our tank. It left us without hot water/heat that took over 24 hours to resolve though it was ultimately fixed and the owner did come to help resolve it. read more

He was very professional, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. Had the patience to put up with many questions we had. The installers were fantastic. Professional, friendly, and again, happy to answer questions. Also cleaned up very well after install was done and such a neat job they did. I'd recommend them to anyone. And we are very happy with the unit, functions perfectly. We find that many people who have complaints do not ask questions they should and/or are not patient themselves. Even the receptionists answering the phone, the ladies who handle billing, they are all very professional and quick to return calls. We would give them 6 stars if you had that available.
