There was no charge for the remix which made me a very happy painter! The store in La Grange could use a few more hands on deck as the line was long with only one (super nice and helpful) guy handling everything on his own. Professional painters were ordering supplies while amateurs like myself were asking for color-matching and new colors. Sherwin Williams paint is a good paint. It's a bit pricey for everyday painting but, I'm repainting the entire interior of my home, so I'm willing to pay more for the paint and the advice.

I purchased 2 hose fittings for a total of about $30. I needed different ones from what I currently…read moreowned so I was sort of flying blind. Of course, when I got them home and took them out of the package, they were the wrong size. I took them along with my receipt back to the store the same day. The plastic shell covering the fittings was still intact and the only evidence there was that I had ever removed them was the slit down one side of each package where I detached the plastic from the cardboard backing. I was told that I couldn't return them because they had been opened?!?! They were clearly not damaged and I just wanted to trade them for the correct size. Nope. I threw them on the counter and left. I will never go back. No one in my family will ever go back. Disgustingly poor customer service from a hometown business. I'm equally close to an Ace hardware so if I need to, I'll go there. In the meantime, I logged on to Amazon and purchased BOTH FITTINGS for $7 and received them the next day. People like to complain about how superstores like Amazon and Walmart are ruining small business, but when I tried to support a small business I was treated like dirt. The funnier thing is 2 days later I went to Autozone trying to match a fuse and the employee helping me tore open a package in the same way I had at True Value and she discovered it was the wrong fuse she just taped it up and put it back. Shame on you True Value in Tell City, Indiana. You give ALL True Value locations a bad name.

But I went there anyway for a gallon of paint and the experience couldn't have gone better. The guy at the counter was helpful and patient. The prices seem in line with the big box stores. I'll gladly get my paint and supplies from Dages moving forward.

The folks greeted me when I entered and thanked me for the copious amount of love and attention that I showed the store cat. No pressure to buy, no shakedown about my intentions. They then gave me space to get down to the business of examining paint swatches. Based on the discussions I heard while in the store, I think that a lot of professional painters and designers use Dages. The people working there are helpful and very knowledgable, but not at all pushy. They spoke to their regulars like friends, which I loved. Dages has a full range of equipment, paint types, and colors to fit any DIY or commercial endeavor. The staff are cool and I wouldn't hesitate asking them any question I had about a project. When I left with a handful of ideas but no actual paint, they thanked me and said come back anytime. That's my kind of customer service. I'll be back, no doubt.
