We had all finished eating when they decided to finally deliver the last meal that we were waiting for, about 10 minutes after the others were delivered. Beware of sneaky charges. I was wondering why my bill was so high. You go and you order food at the counter, they don't even greet you when you come in they just stare and I went back to ask for my receipt and noticed that there was a 12% service charge on top of that they ask for additional tip on the iPad. THE WORST BIRTHDAY EVER I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Coyo Taco - Coral Gables. I had booked their venue for my birthday party, but they canceled the event just 30 minutes before it was supposed to start. This left me scrambling to find another place to host my guests at the last minute. The event was planned for April 12th, 2025. I visited the location on April 5th to get the manager's information. I proceeded to contact Ms. Steffani Maduro on April 8th via phone calls and text messages. After multiple calls and texts, she replied on April 9th asking for the number of guests and time. I immediately replied with the information and never heard back from her. Since she was not responding with a confirmation I decided to personally go to the location. I met with her, and she verbally said that I did not need to worry, just to arrive at 10 pm. 9:34 p.m. on April 12th, she texted me that she had just realized that there was a private event. WOW.... Management: Steffani Maduro was extremely unprofessional, inattentive, and unresponsive. Despite multiple attempts to reach out and plan professionally, there was no effort made to assist. Service: The lack of communication and support from the staff was appalling. Their indifference added to the stress of an already difficult situation, making what should have been a joyous occasion into a frustrating and sad experience. Overall, Coyo Taco - Coral Gables and Steffani Maduro failed miserably in providing even basic customer service. I would strongly advise against relying on them for any important events. Crunchy, to be honest. And listen, it's 12:30am, I get it. So I kindly asked the staff if they mind tasting the rice to help me replace my bowl if they found the same issue. LOL, their response was that Coyo Taco's concept is "al dente" rice and the undercooked strategy is on purpose. ok sounds good. Never heard of Al dente rice in my life. This Coyo just can't seem to get the simplest things right. I got two orders of cauliflower tacos, chips, and guacamole to-go. From previous lessons learned, I double check the quality before heading home. The chip bag was half empty, I had to ask for a bit more chips and the main star- the cauliflower tacos were not cooked. The cauliflower was cold and hard to the touch. Usually cauliflower is warm and on the soft side. But, not here. I kindly let them know the food was cold and the cook immediately interjected and stated it's cold because of the sauce and pickled onions on it. That is definitely not the reason why cauliflower is raw and hard. They asked if I would like the order re-made and I said sure. I can see the cook angrily re-making the 4 tacos. She put them in the container messily and again the same problem. She re-made them the same way, and didn't cook the cauliflower better or longer therefore it was the same end result. She threw an excessive amount of onions as well. The manager got involved and apologized and was empathetic to the situation. She did defend the employee stating she didn't have any attitude that she was just "Latina" but I made it know it wasn't due to that but rather a bigger issue. The manager comped the order which I was grateful for but it doesn't make up for this and previous experiences. I ended up with just two tacos as the other two were thrown away. I don't know why I gave this coyo another chance. I was in the area and wanted veggie tacos but I know not to come back again.
