Replace the harbor master Robert Gardali. A very Rude person . I have sent my application and all documents in line . I was told by one of the employees to come to the Marina to finish my application and bring my boat and dock my boat ,it was Memorial Day Monday . Before I got to the marina I called and talked to some one and got their permission and gave me the permission to dock at 1161 or 1162 slips .so I did then I went to the office he told me to call Tuesday morning . I did call Tuesday morning and I was told that some one will call me back . I received a call back from the harbor master Robert Gardali . Who had zero manner and doesn't know how to talk in a nice civil way . He told me I am not authorized to have my boat there and no one gave me a permission to dock my boat at the marina . He was yelling over the phone giving warning to move my boat and I have 24 hours to Move it or it will be moved and disposed . He would not listen to what ever I say . Wednesday I went to the marina to move my boat , the lady at office was super nice with a nice friendly amazing smile . She gave me access to the gate . I was prepping my boat to leave , then Robert Gardali showrd up , he was calm at that time . I asked him the reason for what happening ! he told me the same thing over the phone I told him i was given a permission to bring my boat to the marina . He called me a liar and said what ever he said over the phone . I let him talk without any interruption and when I was about to start taking he started walking away . I told him I listened to you and it's his turn to listen to me . But he stared walking away me raising my voice I told him That is very disrespectful and he needs to be on the same page with his employees . The last thing he said that he has the power to move me out of the marina and walked away . I started my boat , filled up gas and left the marina on a windy rough day in the water . He has no right in his position to talk to any one like that or disrespect people . Very disappointing a clerk of San Mateo county to behave like that . read more

Update as of Saturday, October 24: After a complete closure due to the CZU Lightning Complex fire, San Mateo County Parks have returned to Phase II of the COVID-19 park management plan, which includes reopening of more parks, trails, drop-in picnic sites, parking lots, restrooms, and now the playgrounds. San Francisco's distant skyline and petite sputtering waves are the backdrop for this thin windy beach in the Bay. There are only a few places where you can easily enter the Bay for a swim ‍. Coyote Beach is located just south of San Francisco International Airport, which is pretty cool. The landing path of planes go almost over the island. So close that you can almost feel the the excited passengers' anticipation of their impending arrival. So if you look through my profile, there's another marina I reviewed almost a decade ago. People change, times change, responsibilities change. Last year I started to look for a sailboat, and one of my coworkers wanted to get one with me. After going to several marinas to look at boats, I really liked what Coyote Point had to offer. Not as long as a drive to SF, Sausalito, or Oakland. Completely safe and patrolled grounds. The rangers make their presence very well known, and there's a sheriff shooting range on site as well. The park charges an entrance fee, and combined these things seem to really cut down on the amount of riff raff at this marina. I wanted a place I could feel safe with my family. October 2020 the harbormaster pointed us to a great boat owned by another tenant, we made our purchase and now we reside here. The Marina bathrooms are OK, but I decided to pay the extra bit to belong to the yacht club which is really nice. After a day of sailing, it's nice to go to a heated bathroom, take a hot shower, plop down on a comfy couch to watch some satellite TV. Finally, going back to family, my wife doesn't sail, but she does like the park and the number of pokestops and gyms there. There are some downsides, but given the upsides I can't really fault the marina or remove stars. * You're pretty far south as far as a sailboat is concerned. At best you'll make it to Berkeley in a day. * There are no nearby chandleries or boat stores. No running back and forth for stuff * The Marina could use a dredging. At low tide my 5' keel is stuck in the mud. read more

There's a $6 fee to enter park. The parking lot where we parked was full but if you wait around, there's people that will leave as we got there around noon time. There's also other parking areas as well. When we went yesterday it was so windy. The kid play ground was nice but there were a lot of kids. Everyone wore masks from kids to adults that I observed but it was quite the full house. There's different areas for kids young and small. It was my kids first time returning to any playground environment since pandemic. We brought our own sanitizer for our kids. read more

I've had my vessel moored here since October and getting a slip was painless thanks to Ed who retired about a week later. He was a wealth of information, provided local knowledge since we just moved to the Bay Area and had us in our slip in under an hour. The facility is clean and docks well maintained. They have been dredging the entrance and doing power upgrades. The new Harbour Master seems to be keen, glad he is looking for a solution to the derelict boats in the marina. I've slept on the boat over night a few times and it's incredible waking up to the fresh air, wildlife and aircrafts landing at SFO! read more

Coyote Point Marina - Marinas Near Me - San Mateo, California

This is a wonderful, quiet marina located inside Coyote Point Park. I have had my boat here since May of 2017, and am pleased with the amenities. The tenant bathrooms are kept clean and well stocked, and even the tenant shower is decent. On the south side of the marina, there is gated parking for marina tenants (access with a gate card available for a fee from the harbormaster); the north side parking area has a sign designating "marina tenant parking only. The harbor office recently started selling ice (YAY!). For boats on trailers, there is a launch ramp (fee required). There is also a gas dock (diesel and gasoline) and a pump-out station. The marina is walking distance from the Poplar Creek Golf Course and restaurant, and a quick Uber ride to downtown Burlingame for restaurants and shopping. The one negative is that it can get CRAZY WINDY on a summer afternoon, and the waves can be pretty rough until your boat gets moving. Wintertime, however, sees calm waters. My brother and I launch 'our' boat from here all the time. It's very close to FC and hardly ever crowded on the launch. It's a down and dirty launch with little hassle or traffic to deal with. When i say dirty, I mean it. Peeeyewwww. The water stinks right there but nothing to drive you away. This doesn't apply to the rest of the Marina though. The whole place is kept nice and clean. The staff that I have ran into are all very friendly and helpful. That's all that I can really review but for me, that's enough. This is a great place to hit the bay for a quick fishing run, especially since the bay is usually glassy. See you on the water and keep your lines wet. read more

I've had sailboats in Coyote Point off and on for many years. Currently, my 26-footer is on Dock 11. While we will all miss Ed Hallet, who has been the harbormaster for years and years, I have no doubt that the new harbormaster will continue the same excellent setup that Ed presided over. The park staff is great, the marina staff are really nice. The docks are concrete and in good shape. On a seriously windy day, getting in the harbor entrance is a bit of a challenge. It's not terribly difficult, but there is little room for error, if something goes wrong. The Harbor is dredged pretty regularly. As of this writing (December 2017) the main basin, a couple of the fairways and the entrance channel have been dredged this past Fall, so that's great. The launch ramp is really good, for those of you with day-boats launched off your trailer. Parking while you're boating is a bit tight. I would guess that there's room for about 15-18 trucks and trailers. The marina bathrooms are not glamorous, but they're clean. There's a shower. I usually use the park bathrooms, since I'm on Dock 11, and it's a bit of a walk to get to the marina bathroom. The park bathrooms are what you'd expect...pretty open-air, stainless steel, indestructible sinks and toilets. They're fine. On holiday weekends the park can get awfully busy after about 11:00 AM and sometimes parking fills up. Otherwise, I can always park within twenty steps of the dock entrance. If you live south of San Mateo and want to keep your boat "within striking distance" of San Francisco but don't want to have to drive all the way up to The City, this is a really good place to be. When there's a breeze, it takes me about 3 1/2 hours to sail from Coyote Point to the Bay Bridge. The berth rates are more than reasonable. I do a lot of racing up in the main part of the Bay, but live in Menlo Park. I find that Coyote Point is the ideal compromise between accessibility to the "racing scene" and reasonable driving distance from my house. The only reason I didn't give the marina 5 stars is that the electrical outlets on some of the docks are showing their age, and not all of them work. That's pretty small potatoes. We once had to berth our boat there since we couldn't reach Redwood City before the dark anymore. That's why we pulled in to Coyote point and straight run aground. In the middle of the entrance it has been so shallow that our keel stuck in the mud. With the help of the friendly staff we were able to pull her out again, however, it has been a quite painful experience. But thanks to the harbormaster and his crew who got our boat out of the mud again. read more

I kept my boat here for a number of years. The staff always bent over backwards to help me whenever there was an issue (which was rarely and usually because I did something stupid). I felt that the slip fees were reasonable given the area and my neighbors were very friendly. Other than maybe some gas that was "borrowed," I never lost anything off the boat. You are a bit in the boonies as far as sailing goes, but a great place to practice and goof around. Beer can races are a must. Your boat is in good hands here. read more
