One of those dinners I'll be thinking about for years to come! We booked Cozinha das Flores after reading all the phenomenal reviews, and I truly can't think of our Porto trip without this place. It was my favorite dinner, hands down, and my husband's as well, after a week of eating delicious food around Porto. Some of the negative reviews mentioned service, and thankfully, we didn't have that experience. In fact, it was probably the best service we had during our trip. The staff was so accommodating that we spent about three hours at dinner, with wine and food flowing, and we even ended up closing the place down without ever feeling rushed. Thank you to the whole team!
This was also our most expensive dinner in Porto, to be transparent, but it was absolutely worth it. You'll definitely want to make a reservation. The evening started with our hostess asking if we wanted an aperitif, which we gladly accepted. Our sommelier then introduced himself and, after we ordered, made an excellent wine recommendation.
The food... I don't even know where to begin. From the bread, which I'm still dreaming about, to the appetizers and mains, every dish felt like a work of art. The spider crab donuts, what?! I want a dozen. The tuna belly, the beef tongue, and the pork that didn't even taste like pork, more like steak, everything was outstanding. Save room for dessert. We had a cake that reminded me of a Basque cheesecake, served with ice cream, and maybe it was the bottle of wine by then, but it was heavenly. read more
