Thank you to all the staff and to Dr. Wallace who made myself and my beloved cat Rocky feel seen through a difficult diagnosis. After having some mistreatment at a prior animal hospital I was relieved to feel the care and empathy the staff has for their people and their pets. Being able to provide knowledge and care through difficult circumstances made an already stressful experience a little lighter. Ultimately my cat was put down today, but I appreciate the care both Rocky and I experienced to come to that difficult decision. I also commend the vet tech who I had called originally to get an appointment together who made sure to show up to my specific appointment due to the difficulties expressed on the call. The team gave us the best shot possible for my little one and was honest, but all the while caring till he crossed the rainbow bridge. read more

Cozy Cat is the best! All my cats have been going there for their entire lives. Dr Wallace is extremely knowledgeable and clearly loves her patients. It's a calm and cozy environment (no dogs) and my cats are only minimally stressed going there, which is a BIG plus. Unnecessary procedures are not pushed and the care is thoughtful and thorough. I just read a negative review about this place from 2022 and I had to post. I adopted a cat in February. She is a beautiful 2-1/2 year old female tabby. She was stray and finally landed at the Wake adoption center. Ginger has suffered from home instability and since I am away for hours it has been a challenge. Not only has Cozy Cat been very receptive their vet has gone out of her way to address that anxiety and my own concerns as a new owner. The vet and staff have never put expedience ahead of the well being of us BOTH. I have considered rehoming this girl but in the meantime we both have needed the support of a good provider. It is going on 4 months and GInger has adapted wonderully; leading me to try my hardest to keep her. Negative (lower than 3 stars) are damaging to the reputation of providers and I will have nothing to do with that. These people are wonderful, PERIOD! Cozy Cat is a bit out of my way but I wanted to use an all-cats vet to lower the stress on my furry kids. Office is pretty standard 2 or 3 examination rooms and two vets. I was introduced to Dr. Wallace and she put my female bengal through a battery of physical exams. Overall I think she did a great job and explained things well. Got a quick phone call the next day with results from a blood test, great response time. And price-wise, Cozy Cat seemed very reasonable to me. Overall I'm pretty impressed with the place, I've done 2 or 3 vets in the Triangle area and Cozy Cat is up there! read more

Dr. Neri and staff took awesome care of our cat. They helped us get him into a cardiologist when he most needed it. They groomed him when no one else would. (He was an old man with many health issues!) I also appreciated the personal calls from the vet to discuss the tests and lab reports (during Covid). They also asked a lot of questions on intake and had a lot of advice for random observations about my cat that I mentioned. We'd been taking our cats to Cozy Cat for a while because we'd moved to Raleigh recently and didn't know enough people to get a lot of reviews on vets. While the service was average, I always felt the vet never really cared about what she was doing. She was very cold and critical, neither of which are qualities I look for in medical care be it for my cat or myself. Then came the big problem -- our Maine Coon mix was losing weight rapidly (big deal for a Mainey!), so we took her in. Dr Moisan examined her, decided it was 'stress' and declined to perform tests beyond bloodwork even though we specifically requested further testing. We pressed the issue, and she flat-out refused to do anything more unless we agreed to put our cat on Valium first. I said I'd consider the matter, then called around to all our friends to find another vet for a second opinion. The vets at Hayes Barton Animal Hospital were more than willing to help us find the reason behind our cat's sudden weight loss. Well, what a shock we had -- the 'stress' Dr Moisan diagnosed? It turned out to be cancer. A rare and untreatable form, but a perfectly diagnosable one, provided the vet puts forth the effort. Dr White at HBAH even took the time to examine the biopsy herself before getting lab confirmation just to save us the pain of waiting over the weekend for the results. I recommend taking your cat anywhere else *but* Cozy Cat. read more

I moved to the area and Cozy is a couple of minutes from my apartment. My little old man was presenting some weird sneezing habits and some mucous sounds in his nostrils.. Well I make an appointment, when I arrive and walk through the door I'm ignore by the receptionist. No greeting nothing. There was a customer in the lobby that they were checking out but a simple; Hello, welcome to Cozy blah blah we will be with you in one moment' would have sufficed. As I'm waiting, I'm addressed by, ' is that Jack?' Not a thank you for waiting, are you ms so and so with your kitty jake? Professionalism is out the door here. Getting to the room, the tech/assistant come in. She looks like she's 14. Very nice though triages my cat and me and goes out of the room. Dr. Wallace comes in and examines my kitty and that part went well. She gave me options of which way of treatment we should go. That part went well. Very knowledgeable. Check out time was a bore. Does not act professional. Never got a follow up call to check on a sick pet visit which is pretty standard at veterinary clinics. Not impressed with this place. Will take him to Bowman Animal Hospital for any future visits. read more

I am new to Raleigh and was looking for a cat only vet clinic. I brought both my 20-year-old cat and my boyfriends 3 year old cat here and they were so good with them. We had both cats at the same appointment and they handled it beautifully. They addressed each cats's needs and concerns separately. They were so sweet to the cats and I could tell the cats were very comfortable. The office staff was awesome as well. Since the initial visit the three-year-old cat has already had a dental procedure and he was in and out of surgery in a morning. And he did so well. They're also equipped to handle my 20-year-old's regular veterinary needs. I take her in at least every six months for blood and urine work. I'm please to a found a great vet to handle my babies care. In summary, Dr. Wallace and her staff are awesome! I highly recommend them. read more

I have three cats & I took all three of them to Cozy Cat for a long time (about 8 years), but not any more. I started taking my first cat there in college because they accepted the SPCA's low cost spay/neuter vouchers & they were close to my apartment. A few years & two more cats later and I was still going there but felt pretty luke warm about it. The vet techs were always nice & handled the cats well, but the actual vets never acted like they remembered me or the cats - even though I was in there every other month to buy prescription cat food & several times a year, for years & years with multiple cats. In general the service was average - but I decided to switch vets for two reasons. 1. They didn't act like they cared much about animal welfare in general, which made me question their overall care for my cats. When I thanked them for taking the SPCA's s/n vouchers - they just complained about the program. When I talked to them about the local sheltering system they didn't seem to know much about it and then I noticed that were selling cat toys in the lobby, made of real fur (seriously? you're a vet. try not to have products made of tortured animals for sale in the lobby. thanks). 2. About 3 years ago adopted a dog and I needed a vet for her. I ended up going Armadale Animal Hospital and I LOVE the vets there! Immediately felt like they really cared about my dog and so I thought I'd give them a try with the cats and they have been great (but more expensive)! I didn't quite realize what I was lacking at Cozy Cat until I had an experience where I was really, really happy with a vet. When I brought my sick cat to Armadale - Dr. Walker ended our appointment with a kiss on sick cat's head & I was sold. Overall Cozy Cat isn't terrible - they're fine - there are just better vets in town. read more

Having just spent $1000 on having my male cat "unblocked" before I moved to Raleigh, finding a vet was high on my priority list. My first visit was to get my males food and they were very gracious in not requiring an exam for me to get the prescription food. Then I took my male's sister in to get spayed and up to date on her shots. I was very nervous because she is 4yrs old and unfortunately her care fell to the side because of her brother's health issues. The ladies there didn't criticize me or read me the riot act. They were very understanding and took excellent care of my Harriett. It is a comfort to know that my little furry monsters will be well taken care of. read more

Cozy Cat is the closest vet to our apartment on Lynn Rd. The location is easy to find and there is always open parking right in front of the building. We took our kitten there for his first check-up with he was 3 months and again for his shots when he was 4 months. We had positive experiences both times. When we asked about their boarding services the vet was happy to give us a tour of the back rooms. There are a few exam rooms in the front of the building and offices and cages in the back. The ladies working there were very sweet to our kitten and even let him take home a free toy. We went away this past weekend and decided to board Skwisgaar at Cozy Cat while we were gone. They were able to take him early on Friday so I could pack up. When I picked him up he was happy and cuddly. We didn't have to bring his food, they fed him the Purina kitten chow that they kept in stock. There is an extra charge for petting and play time, but it is a small fee. We saw Dr. Kathi Moisan and she was very nice and thoughtful and called with follow-up results the next day. I would recommend the practice if you have a cat who requires TLC. This is the best cat-only veterinary hospital in the triangle. Everyone we had the pleasure of meeting was caring, sweet, and professional; they clearly love what they do. The facilities are clean and they've taken excellent care of our two cats, we'll be bringing our third to them as well. I trust their opinions and they do not try to push unnecessary services or packages like some other vet hospitals have done in the past. Dr. Taber made communication a breeze when our senior cat Ziggy was diagnosed with cancer, she kept it honest and real and gave us sound advice concerning the seriousness of his illness. She clearly had Ziggy's best interest at heart. Dava, Elizabeth, Paige, Shelly and Victoria are super sweet and caring, too! Sorry if I left anyone out that we didn't have the pleasure of meeting. The vets and staff are an absolute delight to work with! They worked with my crazy schedule to make sure my cats got the procedures and lab work they needed after one of them had a bad health scare last year. They were always quick to respond to my questions and concerns and made sure to check in after appointments. I had to move out of state for work, and they went above and beyond to transfer records and prescriptions to my new vets. We originally came here for my boyfriends cat. His cat was dealing with anxiety and the vet was helpful in finding us a medication that worked for him. However my experience has been horrible. I have come here twice now for my cat who was showing constant signs of asthma attacks. The first time I was told that nothing needed to be done and that it would just get dealt with and I shouldn't worry. And that if it keeps going I should come back. Keep in mind that at this point it has been happening for a while at this point. I left confused. Well I ended up going back because of Covid and my cat had already been there. The problem continued to worsen so I took him back. The vet suggested it was probably a poultry allergy and that I change his food. She said to call back in a couple of weeks after I gave him this new food. The coughing continued and the asthma has only worsened. Well I called and left messages. Nothing. No response. Today I went to a new vet and they assured me that a food allergy would not cause such coughing - so why did I spend $120 on food here? The new place instantly suggested X-rays and he has now been prescribed steroids for his asthma. Two visits here and I got no help and some overpriced food and can't even get a call back. And on top of that when I did come in I was told I wouldn't want to continue with the next options (X-rays? Blood panel?) because they were "expensive". Not sure why they thought I couldn't afford it or why they felt that was appropriate to say. Regardless both me and my boyfriends cat will no longer be coming to this place that has displayed they are extremely uncaring and unknowledgeable. read more

I was new to the Raleigh area and went to this vet on the recommendation from someone at work who is a cat lover like myself. My cat, Gatsby, has thyroid cancer and Dr. Wallace and her staff have been wonderful, kind and helpful. Dr. Wallace always calls promptly with results from tests and she never, ever, makes you feel rushed when explaining your issues and options; yet I never have to wait when I go for an appointment. She and her staff are always prompt and courteous. She has been super helpful in making my cat feel better and also recommending a procedure to remove my cat's tumor. She is really caring and also helps you consider time and cost and quality of life matters. I love her so much and am so glad I found her. This vet is not particularly close to my house or work but she is so worth the drive. read more

This Veterinary Practice is a cats only hospital. All 3 of my cats are patients there and if you are a multi-cat family, Cozy Cats does not charge individual visit charges when you bring in more than one at a time. This is a great policy. They offer discounts for these visits as well (like a vaccine being cheaper than if it was 1 cat per visit). PLUS, their rates are much less than Glenwood Animal Hospital, where I used to take the kitties. There is a feeling of individual care at this practice that makes me feel very comfortable. If you have cats and they usually get uptight around dogs, this is an especially great place to take them. read more

My visit today was scheduled for 12:30 to get some staples out after an unfortunate incident last week. I was out the door by 12:40 and they didn't even charge me for the staple removal. I have taken my three cats to Cozy Cat for 7 years now. Both Dr. Taber and Dr. Wallace are great. It's easy to tell that they, and all the staff, are real "cat people." One of our cats has had a series of issues: crystals in the urine, behavior problems, and then needed surgery (twice!) when he ate some plastic baby bottle nipples. Cozy Cat has gone above and beyond expectations when treating our "problem kitty." read more

I was referred to Cozy Cat by a nearby groomer when they were unable to groom my cat due to her stress levels. She needs to be groomed for sanitary issues due to her size and long hair. I called Cozy Cat and they told me that they only offer grooming services to their client base. When I said that I do not HAVE a vet, they said that they could schedule an appointment for an exam but they couldn't help me otherwise. They then had the audacity to ask me to call them for future veterinary needs despite having just told me that they couldn't solve my cat's immediate health need without performing an unnecessary exam. I was extremely disappointed with just the phone call and can't help but wonder how they would treat people in person. read more

We just moved to Raleigh, and our cat Mikey was stressed from all of the moving chaos and was pulling hair out on his back. We saw Dr. Hedges in April, and she provided a layered approach to treatment. She suggested multiple behavior modifications, puzzle feeders, and gave us a comprehensive document of things we could try to reduce his anxiety. She also provided some medication options to try in the future if the behavior plan didn't work. Well, it has worked wonders. He still has a ways to go, but his fur is filling in and he is pulling MUCH less. We wanted to avoid meds if possible, and Dr. Hedges gave us so much great information to try!! read more

Don't care for this clinic, even if it was the last hospital in Raleigh. The head doctor is rude and has a chip on her shoulder, and not to mention, the assistants are obviously random hired help that doesn't know what they're talking about in the slightest. We took our cat here today and I was very impressed! The staff greeted me and let me leave my cat there before work and didn't charge! I picked him up on my lunch break and everything went very smoothly... He even seemed to really like Dr. Taber! I thought she was very nice and professional as well! I'm a PhD graduate with a good deal of experience with human medicine & feline ethology through rescue work & my life-long passion for felines in general. I've been using Cozy Cat Veterinary Hospital for over 10 years now after using some very "triage-type" vets in the local area & overseas. Vetting is difficult - each animal has its own issues, physiology, and diseases. Taking your cat to a "small animal vet" is like taking yourself to a general practitioner/equine vet/marine biologist! You can see where the practitioner in that situation could not possibly be an expert in all areas of the science. Cozy Cat understands that cats are not like dogs or humans. They provide an environment that is both functional & less anxiety provoking for felines. You'll notice when you walk in the door - its quiet, calm, and serene with lots of cat toys around. Speaking of that, I don't know how many times I've had a fresh litter box provided for my cats in the room - because the staff know that cats get anxious when the smell the vet's office! They fully understand that what treatments you can give to a dog or a human can't be given to a cat in most cases - what ailments occur in dogs aren't the same as in cats. The cat's experience of life is even far different from that of ours or a dog's - Cats hear better than dogs, the smell almost as good as dogs can, and as such view the world in a very different way. This creates the vast differences in their forms of communication & behavior. I love how this practice has become expert in feline medicine & ethology. Dr Taber has been our vet for years - she know how to handle cats appropriately & also knows how to balance the benefits of treatment with the risks. She is also open to intellectual discussion & never takes offense at questions posed to her about the treatment she's recommending. I've even seen Dr. Wallace and she is equally as excellent with the cats. Both vets will try to explain things in terms you can understand which is very helpful for worried owners. I've lived between Raleigh & the UK most of my life. I've seen many vets both in Raleigh & across the world. I've been part of research studies for felines & have a few friends who are vets themselves. Within Raleigh, I actually left Amadale, after Dr. Anderson retired, to take my cats to Cozy Cat. Armadale is completely inadequate in feline medicine. I still have family who go there & I'm seeing the same old thing. They loved to push tests that were not always appropriate or even carried out (I caught them in a lie about having to leave my cat over night because they sewed in a catheter, but when I stepped back to visit the cat was in a cage with no bedding, no food, no water, & he was not even catheterized! He had been there for 2 days like that - that issue was resolved, but its not a good sign that something like that was so overlooked) I trusted Armadale even though they missed eye pigmentation changes after I told them point blank it was a "red-flag" sign of lung cancer. Needless to say my cat died of Lymphoma cancer at NC State's vet school. Amadale and many other multi-animal vets are full of overly friendly, boisterous people (who suit a dog's need for affirmation/attention & actually calm them), but they aren't the best kind of vets for cats. All that loud fuss & dog barking can be extremely stressful on cats making them even more stressed & unusually unmanageable. Sometimes its hard for people (who are social animals - like dogs) to look past inviting friendliness to see fact or other perspectives of existence like that of the cat's. You can think of a cat like an Autistic child - what we experience as tolerable is not always tolerable to the Autistic nor is it tolerable to the cat. Cozy Cat has a far better understanding of the feline, more concerned / feline experienced staff, and better facilities than any other vet I've been to in Raleigh or foreign countries. They gear every effort towards dealing with the delicate feline existence. They provide a calm, organized, highly trained, & dog-free atmosphere for your cat. If you understand your cat as feline & you want the best care I can't recommend Cozy Cat enough. Their prices are very reasonable compared to other vets (you are always free to price around according to Cozy Cat!) & their knowledge on cats is superb. This isn't to say you shouldn't take responsibility and express the importance of an issue you notice, question, suggest, or discuss things with your vet, but from where I stand these are the brains to pick regarding anything feline! My 3 cats, plus my mother's & grandmother's 7 cats are very happy with Cozy Cat. Cozy Cat saved many of their lives & made their quality of life better! read more

CC was so understanding of my cat and condition, they understood the severity and time sensitivity of her surgery and got her in quickly. Their prices are incredibly competitive and hours fit in with my work schedule so I didn't have to take time off. A full mouth extraction was a scary thing as a pet parent and the vet took great lengths to assure me and make sure my kitty had the best care possible, they were patient with me and all of my questions. I initially gave this place 3 stars for good veterinary care, even though they wanted to sedate my very docile, well behaved cat for grooming. Now I am switching to one star and wish I could give this place ZERO STARS. I made an appointment for The Queen to go in on Monday for her annual exam, and just received an email from the vet, Dr. Wallace, asking that I not feed her after 11pm so they could sedate her for her annual check-up exam on Monday as she is difficult to examine. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?! In 15 years this is the only vet or grooming facility that has ever had an issue with The Queen and suggested sedation for her. Further, in my 30 years of owning pets I have never heard of a vet sedating an animal for a regular exam. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? As far as I'm concerned this is a completely unacceptable and unprofessional practice. I should have listened to Danni D. - she told me to avoid this place after they suggested sedation for grooming when I took The Queen in a year ago. Needless to say I will be finding another vet immediately and will NEVER be taking my fat, old, lazy, docile kitty to this wretched place that apparently considers her an uncontrollable, terrorizing beast. If you spent 2 seconds with this cat you would know how completely ridiculous the mere thought of that is. I am in complete shock at this vet's loose practices with sedation. It isn't a matter to be taken lightly. read more

I've been to Cozy Cat twice now with my little guy Milo. The first time was just to get established with a vet as we were new to the area. Everyone seemed nice and Dr. Wallace was great, very personable. The second time was for a more serious matter...Milo was starting to cough - and I mean, alot! After doing some online research, I concluded that it must be asthma. I was able to record him having a coughing attack with my iPhone to show her. I didn't want to say anything - just hear here feedback and after less than 10 seconds of watching the video (although she watched the entire 1 min) she said without a doubt, it's asthma. She is very familiar with this as she has a severe asthmatic kitty at her home, she confided. She gave me liquid steroid, which taste like fish - thank goodness because we can put this on his food and disguise it which is much less traumatic than trying to squirt it down his mouth. She said we should see a difference within 24hrs. She was also very informative in telling me to watch for signs of diabetes as this 'could' happen with long term steroid use...which we weren't doing, but she still wanted me to monitor his water intake, etc. Two days later she called to follow up and check on him. Both times I saw Dr. Wallace and was very happy - I've never needed a procedure that would require/suggest sedation as others have mentioned....all in all, I'm happy. I have many other Veterinarian offices to choose from that are much closer, but the service, staff and personal attention I receive from this office is second to none! I have an ailing cat that is VERY expensive and it helps ease the pain of dishing out so much money because Dr. Wallace goes above and beyond the call of duty to help me pick and choose what tests are beneficial. I have been taking my three cats to Cozy Cat Clinic for about 18 months, ever since our dog passed away. They were the closest cat-only clinic and had good reviews. I was a little put off when I was told I had to make an appointment just to see the facility but OK, I did that. The front office always seemed to be in a state of chaos and the receptionist, a somewhat elderly woman, seemed to not know where things were or answer questions. But the techs and vets were good with my animals. However, I have now had two instances of my appointments being not being set up for when they had been agreed to. And on neither occasion did I get a call apologizing. This last time was today and I had spent over an hour away from work to drop off my cat for a brush out, only to be told they had me down for Monday which I knew would never have happened as I wasn't available on Monday. Again, a call to apologize and maybe discuss the issue would have gone a long way but nothing. So I am now switching to another cat clinic. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Cozy Cat. When my cat had diabetes but went out of the condition and I gave him his shot, he went into insulin shock. The vet at Cozy Cat saved his life with their swift reactions and were wonderful. Our other cat had a bad leg from birth and before we moved, had unknowingly fractured his leg. As he was running around he all of a sudden howled in pain and laid down. His leg had broke. Took him to Cozy Cat and he is better than new. His leg used to distend outward but after the doctor fixed him, he can now sit with his legs under him like a normal cat. They have been nothing but great to me and I love this practice. read more
