a woman shopping in a store

Cozy Cottage is filled to the brim with handcrafted items. One can easily find something for all the women in their life here in one stop, from doll clothes for the little girls, to monogrammed initial trinkets for young adults, and cooking supplies, jewelry and lotions for the mature ladies. I bought a magnetic picture frame with a couple of ceramic letters to attach to it for $15.00. The letters are sold individually, which lets my creativity soar. They're 90 cents a piece, so if you just want some for your fridge, you can pick them out without bothering with the photo frame (although, the frame is pretty cool.) There were also some unique, vibrant flower barrettes at the front of the store. One was orange tiger striped with a gemstone center. These easily could have been American Girl Doll accessories, but they were well made and looked stylish enough for me to wear. Also, they were only a couple of dollars! Just a bit of what the shop offers: - Locally-themed notecards and postcards - Letter magnets, keyrings, and wine stoppers - Handmade notecards - Jewelry - Soy candles - Baskets - Heartland Herbs dip and cheeseball mixes - Iced wine mixes - Lotion bars - Handmade cornhole bags - Doll clothes and accessories for American Girl Dolls The owner of the shop is very friendly and passionate about life in Bellevue. Anything you want to know about the town, such as, where to grab a great sandwich or brunch, she can point you in the right direction. If you're looking for some crafty gifts for yourself or a loved one, cuddle up with the Cozy Cottage.

What a charming, quirky and fun place! I was in the…read moreCincinnati area and this popped into my Facebook feed. You need to book an appointment to visit and the owner very graciously fit us in even though they had a fairly packed schedule. The space is in a cool art/studio space where various artisans rent out areas. The museum owner told me about some of the history of the building which was really interesting to hear. I love when old spaces are reimagined. When you get to the building that the museum is in, the cat museum is down the hall and to the right. (there isn't any directional signage when you enter the building). You know you are in the right place when you see the giant blow up lucky cat. The museum itself is a small space, but it is packed, literally wall to wall and floor to ceiling with lucky cat and other cat related items. There are several interactive items (noted with a paw so you know what you can and can't touch). There are items the owners collected, items created by the owners and items created and donated by others. One of my daughter's favorites was the weird al lucky cat and the super tiny lucky cat. We spent a surprisingly long amount of time in there because my daughter wanted to look at and take in as many details as possible. The museum itself is free, but you can make a donation. You can also support the museum and owner by making a purchase in the shop. They have everything from $1 small trinket items to large and expensive stuffed animals and souvenir shirts. If you are looking for something unique and quirky to do, definitely check out this super fun space.

A bit difficult to sign up for a tour and once you are there it is also a bit hard to find…read more Go to the big glass door entrance located in the corner of the building. Once inside go to the back and to the right... from there on it is easy because then you will see a big ole lucky cat and the entrance is marked. It is a small museum, but houses thousands of lucky cats. Varieties you have never seen before. Big ones, tiny ones, interactive ones, old ones, new ones.... Enjoy

It was a great way to kick off the holiday season. I love that there was an outdoor craft show at…read moreWashington Park at the same time, so I got a "two-fer." I shopped there for the traditional arts and crafts gifts, then went into the side door of Music Hall (yes, at you're looking at it, the fair can only be accessed through the left-hand side door of music hall) for unique artist-made crafts. I didn't buy much -- just a silk-screened t-shirt and some tasty Jalapeno jelly -- it was the perusing itself, and talking directly to the artists that was the joy of the season. And I had some great, animated conversations with the artists themselves, who were helpful and excited to talk about their work. Yes, these are hand-made specialty items, so the price was high. But it is going directly to the artists, so it is worth it.

The booths were very high-end, offering great design and well-made products. Eli's BBQ was there, along with a bar, coffee stand, and gelto. It wasn't very crowded when we went, so take that for what it is. YMMV. Be prepared to spend some serious cash, also. I didn't buy many things, but the bill was high. I like supporting artists and designers, so I don't mind, but it certainly isn't a budget shopping experience.
