I wish I could give 0 stars…read more I wanted a whole home humidifier installed in my apartment. Jim's son came next day and installed it back in October 2018. It never performed the way it should have, and Jim would not come take a look at it, only trouble shoot over the phone, and tell me Im doing it wrong. After calling the manufacturer, I was told the problem was that it was hooked up to the cold water line, when it needs to be on the hot water line. Took 3 months of back and forth and ignoring my calls for Jim to finally come and switch the line over at the end of January 2019. Almost immediately after entering my home to make the repair, Jim insulted me, saying I don't know anything about these units, and this is the first one in the thousands that he's installed that didn't work properly. He then over tightened the self piercing saddle valve (which I have since learned are against code in the state of New Jersey), causing it to leak. He became confrontational and blamed me for this leak. He then put some tape and puddy on the leak and got it to stop long enough for him to tell me I was all set and left. Sure enough 2 days later, I came home to puddles of water leaking from my HVAC closet. Jim wouldn't return my phone calls and I had to call in an emergency plumber to fix the situation. They told me that self piercing saddle valves are against code in NJ and are a cheap short cut from doing it right and prone to leaking. I paid over $700 to fix this and install the proper shut off valve, and remove the dead saddle valve on the cold water line. Also after installing this humidifier, my furnace now "short cycles", because its not getting enough air to the furnace as air is being borrowed for the humidifier. Ive called a real company to handle this problem. Overall Jim does not know which humidifier to install based on my HVAC needs. He cuts corner with parts that are against code and has created more problems that he solves. My advice call someone else, or at the very least dont let him put a self piercing saddle valve in your house.

B) after a quick fix on the AC compressor, the unit stopped working again about 12-24 hours later. I called over the weekend + emailed through the website portal and when I got a callback Monday, the woman on the phone was a bit rude and in addition they would not have the technician come back out without another service fee charge ($250) on the repair they just performed ($300) less than 72 hours prior.

Note that they do not offer financing, but if you're willing to pay the full amount (half before service and half afterwards) and save some money, it's a good deal. I live in a Condo, so DMC provided all the necessary documents including certificate of insurance before I signed any agreements. It was easy to communicate with DMC via email and phone and everyone I dealt with was polite and friendly. Installation was done within one day and all technicians who came to my house were friendly and professional. Oscar, who I believe was the lead technician, was patient, friendly, a nice guy. So far the system has been running fine. I will update my review at a later time should anything change. With the service I was provided by DMC I feel comfortable and confident using their service in the future for HVAC and plumbing needs. Note that there are some negative reviews associated with home warranty but those seem to be for a different DMC company. The one I'm reviewing is DMC Plumbing from Bayonne, NJ.
