I was recommended by my mom to give this place a call to see what their process is. I called and was assisted greatly. I forgot the name of the person on the phone, but I felt like all of my questions were answered. It was later in the day when my boy passed. So we had to wait til the next morning. The next day, they had signs to help guide us to the office. The place itself is nestled in a beautiful place. A nice location as a resting place for peoples loved one. Even some whiteboards with so many other families writing a final message, too. When I initially got there, I couldn't find anyone. However, there were so many chickens and even a cat, Trixie, who kept me company. Thankfully, it wasn't long of a wait as Germaine saw me standing in their office. Once I told them that my family and I were there for an individual cremation service, she said that she will get someone. I returned to the car and my family and I started to pray for my dog. While praying, my step brother gestured me to look out. I saw someone standing there, in which I signaled to give us a moment. In which, after some time, she left to give us our space. We were not bothered while we were praying for Jack, which we all greatly appreciated. We were guided to where to put the cooler that held Jack's body. From there, Megan guided us to the chapel and office where we discussed the service we wanted and the other things they offered. We got the individual service, clay paw print with a photo frame, an engraved, wooden urn with his paw prints lasered to the wood, and a plaque to go with it. We also got the ink print as well. It was extremely pleasant to talk with Megan as she was very patient and compassionate with the process. Her voice was gentle and not loud, which I personally appreciated since I had so much other things going on in my head. We even got a visit from Trixie again. Once everything was decided, Megan talked with us and listened to the stories we had of Jack. She helped us feel very comfortable with the process. I am eternally grateful to how Megan helped us. When it came time for us to leave, we were given time by ourselves to say our final goodbyes. I felt bad leaving Jack's body out in the open. But later I called about a different matter and asked if they got to his body. They assured me that once we left, they picked up his body and put him in cold storage. Which was a massive relief for me. I know that my family is lucky. We were told it may take about 7-10 business days for us to reunite with him again. But the very next day, this morning, I got the call that Jack was ready to be picked up. My mom and I were ecstatic. We instantly got ready and headed over. It was Germaine who helped us. She was gentle and gave Jack to us. Everything else we ordered was packaged neatly and safe. The urn was beautiful, and the laser engraving of his paws on the box were perfect. Especially with how fast everything happened with Jack, we are so thankful to Megan, Germaine, and even Trixie for helping us with make this process as smooth as possible. And we are VERY grateful that we were able to get him back as quick as we did. Thank you all so much for everything you did for us. I will say, be sure to ask for pricing for what you want. They have so many options, you can easily go overboard with what you want for your precious baby. Also be aware that they do have a 3% additional fee if you use credit or debit cards. So bring cash, a check, or you can even discuss a payment plan. But keep in mind that they will hold your pet until the full bill is paid. My family and I just opted for the 3% additional fee as we wanted him back home with us as soon as possible. My family and I are so grateful that we found this place. However, I was recently informed that because the practice has changed ownership, I am required to bring my dog in for a new exam at a cost of approximately $100 before flea medicine prescription for can be issued. When I questioned the necessity of another exam so soon after the previous one, I was told that the business was sold, and this is simply the new policy. Given that the dog was seen recently and had a complete workup, I should be able to get necessary flea medication. I don't believe I am asking for anything that out of the norm.. and it seems like it is all about the money.

Because of that long history, it's disappointing that I now feel the need to switch veterinarians. About a year and a half ago I purchased an at-home fecal test tube from the clinic for around $100. Unfortunately, due to life circumstances I was not able to bring the sample in during that time. When I recently asked if I could still bring in the sample or receive any kind of accommodation, I was told no and that nothing could be done--even though the sample was never submitted or processed. As a full-time student already paying a high amount for school, that $100 is not a small expense for me. I went to this veterinary clinic for years trusting that they would care for both my pet and their long-time clients, not leave me feeling taken advantage of. While I understand that time has passed, it still feels inappropriate to charge such a high amount for a test tube before the clinic has even received or processed the fecal sample, and then offer absolutely no accommodation or flexibility when it was never used. After being a loyal customer for years, the lack of understanding and willingness to work with me was very disappointing. I hope this review helps others be cautious about making larger purchases here and not assume accommodations will be made, even for long-time clients.

I unexpectedly lost both my Siberian huskies April 2023 at the same time due to them getting into things while I was away, it was the most devastating loss I've had to go through. Sadly I don't remember the vet and their staff there at SAGE Veterinary Centers in SF,Ca but I can't thank you enough for the CONTINUOUS compassion they had while I made my way to them. They gave me my options, were very emphatic on their time line, the chances they had and didn't pressure me into any decision. With their help, and kindness I had to make the hardest decision to let them both go. The staff gave me as much time as I needed, and let me tell you, I needed it. These two were my biggest joy in life and they walked me through it all with so much compassion. It was heartbreaking seeing staff also tear up, I remember one of the staff mentioning they'd never had to euthanize two huskies at the same time. It was a really hard night for everyone. After it was all done, they gave me the room and were so supportive, they walked me through my options, and even mentioned I could have more time to decide if needed for costs and cremations. I was so devastated of their sudden passing I asked for two small vials of fur to remember them by and they helped me collect some. It's taken a very long time but looking back, I'm so thankful for how loving this staff were to a complete stranger. If anyone needs any emergency support or sadly, a place to go to for their loved pets euthanasia, I recommend them. One thing I didn't know vets/cremation places can do, they can offer you a private cremation (just your pet to be cremated on its own at a higher price, or a different kind where they are cremated with others, I was taken back by that but I can see now why some may opt the cheaper price if they can't afford it, I personally did the private pet cremation one and payed more) They partnered with "Animal Memorial Service" funeral home in Gilroy,CA, and walked me through every step of the way. Animal Memorial Services were very responsive and patient with my grieving questions. When Animal Memorial Service dropped my pups urns back to SAGE they called me right away, and I was very pleased with how I felt they went above and beyond. The urn plaque (I do wish it was a screwed on name vs a sticky seal and included the year) but it did have their name and time of passing, it came with a letter certificate when they were cremated, a wooden print of their paws which I didn't expect to get, a ink stamp of their paws (and they emailed me a digital print of their paws when I requested, true to size, which I've since tattooed on me). I called them and although I was on hold for a while, I eventually spoke to someone who was nothing but supportive and compassionate. Never did I feel judged or hurried. I was crying my heart out and could barely talk - their patience and support was so helpful in easing a pain so intense. Maria arrived on time at our home. She, just like her team, was very supportive and compassionate. She took time to get to know us and Minou - she showed genuine kindness and love for animals (and genuine compassion for grieving pet parents). The whole process never felt rushed. Minou my cat never winced as the medicines were given and seemed to have been comfortable with Maria being there. From beginning to the end - up until Minou's cremains (in a beautiful urn and paw print tile) came back home. I'm so thankful for At Home, At Rest Pet Euthanasia. They're truly people you want to be on your side during these times. Minou was home, in my arms and took his last breath of his Mama's scent and hearing his Mama's heartbeat.

Let me start by saying I have the utmost respect for vets and their staff. Vet care is a tough…read moreprofession. I am a seasoned dog owner who has spent many hours and has had many visits to the ER over the years. However this last visit was brutal. We arrived at 830 am and didn't get fully seen and discharged for 12 hours ! 12 hours is insane to make someone with a sick animal wait. At least be up front on check in and say. You are likely looking at 5-6 hour wait. At least that way you can make a call and decide to not put your already sick animal through more stress. I get how triage works. Most pressing cases are seen first. But to have us come back into the exam room several times just to sit and wait for at least an hour or more each time is wild. The tech calls me and ask me if I've left and I say no I'm right outside and by the time I've come in they have forgotten about us and stick us in an exam room only to sit and wait another chunk of time. The vet was lovely and she helped diagnose my dog and set up a treatment plan. That was the only plus.
