I have insurance on my phone and that I recommend for anyone, I have a Samsung S20 and I would be dead without it. My insurance provider, Square Trade, sends me here for when there was something wrong with my phone, both times this place has fixed my phone and have offered amazing customer support. The last time I came here about 2 weeks ago a young man by the name of Zach, (I think that was his name?) offered me such amazing support for just a cracked screen that here I am writing this review. Here's where it gets even better, I came within 90 minutes of them closing, so by the time my phone was fixed they were closed. Now my phone's camera wasn't working, and before the fix it was. I was hoping he didn't leave and I was back at the door knocking to see if he was still there. By the grace of god he was, understood the problem and fixed it immediately, he was that good. In conclusion, I don't know if I got the employee's name right but what I do know is that I will be coming to this store for anything wrong that happens to my phone. read more

I am amazed at the greed of this company. I purchased a screen protector for 19 dollars and was told it was covered by warranty against defects. The screen protector started peeling and bubbling in about three days. I called and was told to bring it in. When I arrived they said it would be a 15 dollar "transfer" fee. Took my IPhone here because the camera lens was cracked. I called and made an appointment, and was told that I'd be called if the part didn't arrive in time. When I showed up for my appointment the part hadn't arrived. I asked why nobody had called, and there was no explanation or apology given. I left and eventually got a text saying the part had arrived, so I went back and dropped my phone off. The service took about an hour. Two weeks later, the replacement lens had cracked, which I assumed had to do with the repair, as I hadn't dropped or mishandled the phone at all. So, I called and asked if they'd repair it again, and was told they'd do it for half price, which is unacceptable. Fantastic knowledge service. They are excellent at notifying my email and making calls. My phones screen was so shattered that glass fell off of it and the screen had 4 thick vertical lines on the screen. It was totally unresponsive with the exception of rise to wake (iPhone se) They had it done in 45 minutes and gave a lifetime warranty. It literally looks and performs like a brand new phone. I was having problems with the screen on my I-Phone. I called CPR (first time customer) and David, ordered a new screen. When I came in, after I removed the cover to the I-phone, I showed Brandon that the screen had expanded, causing the screen to move away from the compartment of the I-phone. Brandon explained that the battery was swollen, causing the screen to expand. Hence, a new battery was ordered. When I came back, Peter worked on my I-Phone, and repaired it, by replacing the screen and the battery. About three weeks later, my I-phone completely discharged overnight, and I couldn't get it to start. I brought it back, and David started it for me, recharged it, and and tested it. Hence, I was more than pleased with the overall service from the personnel at CPR. Also, I liked the convenient parking in the lot in back of the store, since it is not convenient to park on N. High Street. If I have any additional problems with my I-phones in the future, I certainly will use the services of this establishment. I took a broken phone to CPR. They tried and failed to fix it, and refunded my money when they couldn't fix it. Everything about the place screams competence. The guys at the counter had some plausible theories about what the problem might be. They set expectations clearly up front. They emailed me results right when they said they would. They did a great job! They were able to quickly identify the problem and had reasonable prices. I don't have a common phone so they had to order the parts, which took a few days, but once that happened they fixed it quickly and communicated well about how much time it would take. They replaced my screen, and didn't charge me for it because they could fix my old screen and get credit for it. They seemed to have a good knowledge of how to fix it, and clearly communicated their prices and timing (although my problem seemed to be a more common one). I had a small accident with my phone resulting in the glass being cracked and the bottom half of the screen totally useless. I sent an email for an estimate and got a quick response that said it could be fixed for a reasonable price, so I brought it in that day. Since my phone was not the more usual Samsung or iPhone, they did not have the part immediately on hand, so I did have to wait for the part to be shipped overnight, which was actually quicker than I was expecting. I got the call saying it was finished immediately the next morning and picked it up that afternoon. The phone now looks almost new with the exception of a few tiny dents where I had dropped it in its back and side. Service was very fast and courteous. read more

Quality of work is just horrible. I drawn my phone into a water and went to CPR to get it repaired. Paid 45 non-refundable fee and they called next day that they run procedures and then touch screen did not come up, they they run something called "reflow" and then phone did not turn on. They openned it and discovered that they broke battery, so they trashed it since "per company policy" they cannot store broken batteries in store. So that's all, no further investigations were made. I paid for this $45 and in addition they did not return my sim card, I discovered this later when brought phone to another specialists. Other guys (not CPR) put new battery in my phone and turned it on, unfortunately modem was broken, because of water, and it cannot be repaired, so my phone now works with wifi only, mic and camera are good also. I really don't like giving bad reviews to any business because I am aware of the trials and tribulations that a business had to go through to be successful. However exceptions have to be made in certain cases. My brand new Nokia lumia 920 had its display shattered to smithereens. So I took it down to CPR to get a quote on the total cost estimate. While the person at the counter was quite courteous, he quoted a price that was almost $120 above another online based repair shop for the same repair. $20-30 difference is something that's understandable but when the difference is $120, then they really need to revise their prices. Not likely to recommend anyone with Nokia issues to go there. read more

This repair shop replaced a faulty power switch on a Galaxy S2 yesterday (05-18-13). The staff was professional and the new switch is working great. The price was $65.00 plus tax, which is reasonable since a new phone would hundreds more, and the job involves soldering and assembly, etc. Remember, the repiar has a 6 month guarantee, and you are dealing with a person not someone online, which is a big plus. As far as pricing, it is fair. For those who complain about pricing and are students, get a job, and or stay out of the bar for 2 weekends and you would have plenty of money to fix the phone your parents bought for you. read more

had a broken camera lens on my LG 30. called to see if they could fix my lens, the part was $3.50 and they didnt have it but said they could order it for me, but that it would cost $51 up front to fix it. i reluctantly agreed. I waited and waited for them to call me so i could bring in my phone. after 10 days i emailed them and left two voice mails. they finally called back and said they forgot to place the order, and said it would take another 5 days for it to come in. they were "pretty sure" they could refund my $51 for services they never provided. I was a customer 2 times in one month from dropping my IPhone 6 and needing a screen replacement. Both times I went to CPR for repairs paying the full price of $150. Less than a month after my 2nd screen repair, the top edge of my screen began to lift. When messing with it to see what was causing the lift, it cracked. I called in and I went back to the same location on campus/short north and explained what caused the damage. The manager, Ofek, immediately got defensive and would not replace the faulty screen. He offered to have me pay $100 for the screen and he wouldn't charge me labor (on top of the $300+ I had already paid the company over the past month). He had no sympathy towards me for giving his location repeat business or the faulty job from the last repair. He continued to haggle with me until I got fed up and left the place of business with no replacement screen. After you get a repair they say you get a 6 month warranty for the new screen, but if it is cracked they will not repair-- even if the crack was due to their failure to fix the screen in the first place. I do not recommend going to this location or business. I thought by paying $150 compared to the $50 offers on Groupon I was getting quality service, but it is nothing but a scam. You are better off saving your money and going somewhere cheaper. They have lost a customer that would have stuck with them over the years. Shame on them. read more

The most recent visit involved me dropping my phone and shattering the screen. It was a Saturday afternoon so I was unsure if they would be able to fix it that day. I have a really bad habit of butterfingers, constantly dropping my iPhone4. I have dropped and cracked the screen 3 times, and smashed out the backlight once. Each time, I took it to CPR. Not only is their staff AWESOME, super friendly and accommodating, they are really quick, and their prices, although high, are within reason (with the 'insurance' I had on my phone thru AT & T, it would have cost me 200 dollars to replace my entire phone, i.e. losing anything and everything that was not backed up on my laptop, and it would have taken me multiple days to get a new one, AND I would have had to give them my phone and be phoneless for days at a time. No thanks. cancelled that insurance real quick, as it was pointless.) At CPR I paid a little more than 100 with tax for a screen replacement- same for the backlight smashing. I explained that my phones were on the Sprint network and needed them unlock for international use he put me on hold for about 5 minutes came and said YES we can unlock all 3) phones . HORRIBLE! I bring a Dell e6530 laptop in for what they diagnose as a screen replacement. Pick up the laptop its damaged lid and lid bezel cracked and dented!! Best of all WRONG Diagnosis to begin with the screen replacement did not even fix the original issue! Damage is photographed and store manager and owner are contacted. Then I say Ill take the laptop elsewhere to have the damage they caused repaired "We cant pay for outside repairs" Really well someone is paying for the damage your "technicians" caused and it will not be me! These guys go above and beyond every time I go in. I guess I could say I'm a frequent flier. I'm always dropping and breaking my phone, case or no. Every time I do, I can walk in- no appointment needed and they have it fixed within the next 1-2 hours. Today I dropped my phone and the phone separated from the backing, hanging by a few wires. In a panic I took it straight there, handed them my phone with no wait and it was ready and fixed in two hours. The most amazing part? They did it all for FREE!! They saw that I came in pretty frequently (3 times in the last 6 months) and saw that they did the last repair and put my phone back together. They even upheld a warranty that I didn't even know about and replaced my tempered glass screen for free too! Went from a super broken phone to back to normal in two hours without paying a dime. My daughter's Nexus 4 had non-responsive places on the screen, LG (the manufacturer) wanted me to ship it to them, but said that the repair would destroy all the data on the phone, including all the text messages which my daughter wanted to preserve. I went in recently to see about having a screen repaired on my cell phone. I chose them as one of the possibilities for my repair because I read a good review. However, when I got to the store and went to the counter I was greeted apathetically and I didn't feel the desire to earn my business. None the less, I proceeded to tell him what I needed done and asked for a price. I was given a price that was $25 more than a couple other places quoted me. I said is that the best you can do, as I have checked around. He said yes and that was it. He could have cared less if I chose to have my phone repaired there. That made me more than willing to drive down the road and have it repaired elsewhere. I chose the store because of a good review and because the store looked professional. All that glitters is not gold and I am glad I looked up others as a back up since I was apprehensive since it was just one review. Good customer service goes a long way. read more
