    Hungry Chief

Got the Hungry Chief breakfast burrito and was a bit disappointed. The tortilla was good, but the filling was very dry. The hashbrowns in the burrito also gave it an almost burnt taste. I did like how quick the food came out, and all the ingredients were fresh.

Glad to have such a nice breakfast and brunch restaurant nearby. It's so near the center of campus that this location already has makes it friendly to students. It is a small and cozy restaurant, with a small menu, but up to now the foods I have tried were all good--I have tried Dr Seuss, Lil Cheesus, Plan B and Mother Clucker. Everything was delicious. I always opt out for sauce and add egg if it does not have, and stuff was nice enough to let me do that. The restaurant is also quite popular on weekends. The first time I went there on Sunday I waited in line for over half an hour! Early weekdays morning is much better. I will definitely go back to try more of their foods. Also I hope they can serve some omelette!

So yummy!! Small spot on Green, ordered at the counter and the food took a minute but it was so worth it. I got an iced vanilla latte, and got the Sloppy Jose and the hungry chief. So yummy. Some spots to sit up at the counter and watch them make your food. Good college hangover breakfast spot. Lots of tables to sit at and they have hot sauce on the counter.

A great breakfast or brunch place to go! It's neat and clean inside, and the staffs are very friendly. I remember I ordered the Hungry Chief Burrito this morning. Maybe it was because I went there too early, like 8:25 am, and there was a small group of people ahead of me, it took around 10 minutes to finally got the Burrito. The Burrito costed approximately $10, and it was reasonable due to its size and the rich content. It didn't have a too strong flavor, which is good for me because I don't wanna drink water all the time the rest of my day hahaha! Anyway, I picked some sauce on the table to try different taste. It's right on the Green St, so I believe it would also be a simple choice for to-go breakfast on the way to the classroom.

Cracked always has me coming back for more. This particular time, I got the goy vey breakfast sandwich. This thing is absolutely stuffed with meat, which I loved, but for that same reason, it was a little too salty for me, and the cream cheese did little to temper that. I was missing an element of sweetness to cut the salt. Not my favorite menu item. I've also come here for the hungry chief burrito, which is tasty, but make sure you add some sort of sauce to it because otherwise, it's quite dry. One thing I have absolutely zero complaints about is the tots. From the plain to the sloppy, you can't go wrong with an order of these -- it will tie together your whole meal. You get a lot in your order too, perfect for leftovers! Although you likely won't have any left once you start eating them. My go-to are the Parmesan truffle tots. I'd come here just for the tots! Although they pair nicely with a breakfast burrito. I'm hoping to try the sloppy Jose next.

We seriously drove 1 hour to come here for breakfast. And this place did not disappoint! A little tricky finding street parking but we were able to find a meter about 3 blocks away. Ordering is simple, you just read the menu and order right at the counter. The food took a bit to come out but it's totally worth the wait. We ordered a smattering of stuff since everyone like something different. We got the Morning blender breakfast sandwich, crispy tots (Yes!), French toast bites (totally deep fried and oily), and the Dr. Seuss breakfast burrito. Totally a hearty breakfast to get the morning started!

If your looking for a delicious filling breakfast sandwich or burrito, look right here!!! I am an over the road truck driver and when I urban park, I love to explore local loved food spots. I didn't read reviews, I visited the website, checked out the menu, and everything sounded soooo good. I settled on a Sloppy Jose and a Hungry Chief. Both are stellar. This is a case of what you order isn't really going to matter because the portions are large, the food is fresh made and hot and absolutely delicious. I can't see how you could go wrong and I will definitely be back.

Came here as it was the only place open on green st during the week for breakfast. I was in town for work and am proud to call myself a UIUC alum as well. On this unfortunate day the heat was not working and illinois was in the middle of day two of polar vortex. I kept my coat on the entire time and the employees were miserable and made it clear they were too! I do not blame them. The food is freshly cooked to order a the time and delish! I would come back for sure. Be prepared to deal with Green st and university stupidity as there is no parking and when you find it a block or two away you pay ridiculous rates. Welcome to Illinois, the state and the university.

A breakfast sandwich is always the best way to start a weekend! I hit up Cracked and figured I'd try out one of their killer breakfast sandwiches. I got the Morning Bender which has cheddar cheese, hashbrowns, a fried egg, cream cheese, and I added bacon. I also decided to try out the Parmesan Truffle tots which sounded so yummy. I was excited to try cream cheese on a breakfast sandwich because I've never had that before, and I've seen a lot of people do that lately. It didn't add as much creaminess as I wanted, would've liked a little more cream cheese tbh. The hashbrown was a little too crispy for my liking but it didn't take away from this tasty sandwich. They give you a ton of tots which was awesome because I had leftovers and turned them into like crispy hashbrown rounds. The tots were my favorite part of this. The truffle oil worked really well and they weren't soggy, perfect crispness and super crunchy. I think overall this is a great little spot for a quick grab and go bite, I would like to go back and try more of their menu because they have a lot of different options and so many things look so good! * * * Check out my Instagram thatfoodiewithglasses

Cracked on Green is one of my new found breakfast joys. It has a very frat boy vibe, so don't show up expecting it to be super clean or overly pretentious. Despite one of the workers sitting on the counter using his phone after preparing our food, we loved it so much we will keep coming back. They have been very nice and welcoming. Signs posted at the entrance mandate masks to be worn to enter. My fav food item is the Morning Bender!! Cream cheese makes everything better. They have great orange juice too, but the coffee isn't worth writing home about. They play pop music in the dining area that's pretty loud, but I really like how it energizes you to start your day. I understand they deliver and also have a food truck. I wish I had a franchise in my hometown!! Check them out, you won't be disappointed.
