I've been to the drive thru location a couple of times and had great experiences other than the levels of sweetness in their drinks, but the location on Main St. may have put a bad taste in my mouth for Talia Espresso. First of all, staff were standoffish/very low energy, cutting us off when asking questions about the very very extensive menu. So, okay fine, moving on... I have worked as a barista in the past so maybe my expectations for coffee shops is higher than others, but even when I've asked for drinks to be made less sweet/no toppings/no whipped cream, they always come out still tasting insanely sweet. If you like dessert-in-a-cup styled drinks, this is your place! This is the first time I've gotten food here and tbh I would pass on getting breakfast here if I were to go again. The everything toast was okay, but very very over seasoned and salty so I couldn't even finish it, and my husband got an omelette with some veggies and turkey added. Turkey was cold and the veggies were raw and to be honest, when I'm paying $40 at a coffee shop, I expect to be able to at least stomach the food and drinks I'm getting. Literally my favorite coffee shop ever. I only ever drink coffee from here. I truly have nothing negative to say about it. The coffee is great and I love both drive-in locations as well. I've never had a bad experience with Talia's. The aesthetic and ambiance are perfect. It's a great spot to study or just chitchat with friends. I love the small town feel of Talia's but part of me wants it to become a chain coffee shop so I can have this coffee anywhere, haha. I've been here many times and have never met friendlier staff than the ones that work at Talia locations. They all deserve a raise. We were so surprised to read all the good reviews. A friend and I met in North Wilkes for lunch and decided to go to Talia's. I ordered the quiche, which was, and I wish I had a thesaurus handy for this....nasty. They took this tiny round disc out of the refrigerator and warmed it up. Quiches are so easy to make and I don't know why the owner would cheap out and offer such a horrible item. They did replace it, but with only 1/2 of a sandwich. This place is fine for coffee, but highly overrated for food. We're meeting at other area restaurants now. read more

You can't ask for a better local coffee shop! The coffee is consistently good and they use healthier ingredients than Starbucks. TIP: Whip cream is dairy-free and they carry Milkadamia milk. Also, they have pastries, breakfast and lunch menu. Recently found out they switched from Udi's gluten-free bread to making it homemade. I had to try it! I ordered a turkey sandwich (comes with Cape Cod chips and a pickle). It was delicious! Usually they have gluten free desserts but I would call ahead. The woman at the window was very very nice and didn't make us feel rushed and also helped in our decision. When we got our coffees it was amazing!
