This place is really hit or miss anymore. Sometimes the food is prepared perfectly and you get it as well as refills in a timely manner. Other times you're lucky if you get refills on your drinks. The last time our cornbread was hard as a rock but the time before, well made. We go here when we don't want to think about where to go and don't care too much about what we eat. It's edible and usually get a fair amount for what you pay. Would I tell someone who has never been that they HAVE to try it? No. It's not terrible. Plenty of handicap parking. Getting to the door is level with minor grades. The restaurant itself has plenty of room for wheelchairs, canes, scooters or walkers. Our family stopped here before I headed back to the Pittsburgh airport, and had a nice lunch. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive and made us all laugh. I ordered the chicken dumplings with sides of coleslaw and carrots. The bowl of dumplings was enormous! They were delicious and oh so filling - I sent most of these home with my dad. The coleslaw was creamy and crunchy and good, the carrots not so much- they were frozen baby carrots with no flavor. Table of 6 seated quickly on a busy day. My go to is normally chicken and dumplings, they're always good, the portion is huge and price reasonable. My grandson ordered Sweet N' Smoky Glazed Tenders, he said they were great. My daughter tried grilled Sweet N' Smoky glazed chicken with bacon and said it was amazing. I love the store. They offer old fashioned candy, toys and pretty clothing and decorations. The food was good and came out quickly but our server was very pushy... Ziggy, I think. I wasn't even half way through eating and she's bringing out boxes and the check and telling us to have a great day. We're traveling, so leftovers were going to be car snacks but she bussed the kids plates before I had a chance to pack up their scraps (because I was still eating). I'll start off by saying that we have been to dozens of Cracker Barrels all over the country. We travel full time and Cracker Barrel is a restaurant we frequent since it's usually reliable, and we know what type of food and service we'll receive. Unfortunately, tonight's dinner was the worst we've ever experienced at a Cracker Barrel. We ordered the fried pickles appetizer, which while good, the portion size seems to be shrinking. That would have been fine if the rest of our dinner was good. But unfortunately, that was not the case. After about a 30 minute wait, our entrees finally came out. My husband ordered the chicken tenders with fries. They tasted fine, but were much smaller than they used to be. My son and I both ordered burgers, and they looked and tasted like the patties had been overcooked and then sat under a heat lamp all day. They were hard and SO dry. We let our server know, and she said she would have them remade. About 20 minutes later, we still didn't have the replacement burgers, so we asked to speak to a manager to just get our check and go, since my husband and other son had already finished their meals. The manager came over to our table, and my husband explained the situation. As he was still talking, she just walked away without even saying anything! Finally our server came back with our check, and she had taken off the burgers. We still left paying over $40 for 2 dinners and a small appetizer. It's just insane to me that the prices have increased so much, along with the significant decrease in quality. And they keep changing the menu and removing things we used to enjoy. This was a great stop! I kinda got here by accident, missing my exit off the turnpike. We were hungry, so when I exited to turn and go back, we decided to stop and eat. Seated quickly, and the busy server got our drinks and orders in reasonable time. Kim was very nice! I got the country chicken; the boy some sort of maple bacon chicken. Both meals served hot and quite delicious! Kim refilled our glasses when low. As much as we wanted to try that ice cream brownie dessert, the meal portions just filled us both up. Next time for sure. Stopped here for a quick dinner on my way through the area. While in college this was a special treat if you wanted to waste gas to travel. That should tell you how long ago it was since I had been to this location. I am not certain, but I believe that this location is smaller than the norm when it comes to layout of the establishment. Even though it feels like there was a smaller footprint they still were able to deliver everything that we have come to expect when visiting a Cracker Barrel. I walked in a bit before the lunch rush and was seated immediately. I really didn't need much time to decided on what I wanted as I usually stick to what I would consider my usual when I come to one of these. I did have a bit of a wait for my server to show up to my table. But I didn't delay the process when she did finally show up. First let me explain as to where they sat me. They sat me at a two seater right near the big huge fake fireplace, which just happens to be where they enter the kitchen area. When my server finally did show up to take my drink order I just ordered my meal right then and there as well. My drink showed up and, I am not kidding you, less than three minutes later my food was at my table. I didn't even have time to finish a sip of my drink. I commented on how fast it was and my server just kind of smiled and went about her way. The food was decent, what I expected when it comes to CB. The next thing I know my server pops back up just as I finished my entre. She asked me if I wanted to partake in dessert, I rarely do, but today I decided to give it a try. Just like with the main course, my dessert was there in no time. I was kind of impressed with the dessert. It actually tasted really good. And to end the meal with cake and ice cream essentially was a win win. read more

I was very disappointed with my recent visit this past Saturday. I had ALWAYS loved your restaurant, especially the breakfast and constantly raved about it. I took a friend with me and, boy, has the quality of the food changed. I ordered the old timers breakfast and never received the biscuits and sausage that was supposed to come with it. The sweet tea was anything but and was barely darker than the water. we ordered peach cobbler to go, and although the menu said it came with ice cream.. it did not. Went to Cracker Barrel in new Stanton on Saturday. Never have had a problem here before and I tend to come almost once a week. I really enjoy the food and the servers as I never have a problem with either. I decided to bring my boyfriend and my best friend with me as I normally go alone. We were trying to cash out at the register and the very rude lady didn't know how to scan my member ID. She rudely asked my boyfriend for my phone number and when he didn't know it she said "he was taking to long and can't walk around the store to find me because she had a line."(My friend was the only other person cashing out at the time. As they had two lady's in the front working) My best friend also agreed she was being very rude to him for no reason so instead of looking for cute things for me to buy I had to go to the cashier and give her my phone number for my friends bill. As I gave the number for hers the cashier decided to continue being rude and talking about us to my friend as if we aren't standing right next to her. She tried to rescan my check but at that point I wanted to leave asap. I immediately took my bill back and just left. (I had rewards that I wanted to use but I don't care enough to save $5 just to be disrespected) I really enjoy the food and the service I normally get as my server was very wonderful and patient. Although this cashier was very rude and now we are contemplating on staying away from this place all together. Had a family memorial dinner for our mother's passing at home. Cracker Barrel was close and we checked the web site to find family meals. So we ordered the catfish and fried chicken meals with carrots, broccoli, Mac & cheese, hash brown casserole, chicken and dumplings and biscuits. When we completed the order, they emailed a pickup time. They have easy to see places to park and phone in your arrival to the restaurant. Because we had two large boxes, we went in and picked up the meals. Once we uncovered and unwrapped everything we all sat down to say grace and eat We were all so happy with our meals. Really good and tasty food and plenty of it. Staff are polite, helpful and provide great meals at a good price. Highly recommended. As someone who works in the food industry and know first hand how hard it can be, I wanted to share my happy experience we had because of the kind, empathetic and kind hostess last Tuesday (I think). I hope the company can treat her as much as I'd like too! We all know how hard it is to not shop in the store before hand and my strong willed 4 year really put up a good fight to not go to our table because he wanted to look at the toys. I told her after lunch, we could look. Out of the kindness of this lady and her hostess co workers heart, they asked me to come out to the stand and showed me the last Scooby doo character from Halloween that was on clearance. She said she noticed my son was having a tough time and wanted to know if she should keep it behind the register for me to grab after. I just wanted to say thank you for being so thoughtful and kind when I was having a tough time trying to get some lunch with my mom. I wish I would've remembered her name, but I do remember her face! It's not every day a young woman in her 30's is treated so nicely by other women and I try to always strive to be like this sweetheart. I didn't grow up in the south, and I can imagine that Cracker Barrel isn't a good representation of what it's like - but for the novelty and the price, I always enjoy it. I can't usually count on two hands the amount of suspenders and flannel shirts that frequent this location. The food is good and the portions are big. If you don't appreciate the chicken'n dumplings, I don't know what to tell you. My personal favorite is the fried chicken special that they feature on Sunday with some green beans, dumplings, and broccoli. Ask for some hot sauce while you're at it and skip the gravy. I usually head over to the store when paying for my check and grab a Goo Goo Cluster or a Valomilk. read more

What I am writing about is that is not set up for wheelchairs..You can not get a wheelchair into the tables..it is also very hard to move a wheelchair around the store.. My mother loves going to Cracker Barrel but it is so hard to get her set up properly. Cracker Barrel is a favorite place for breakfast in my family. Usually there is a wait on weekends for breakfast, but time can be passed by browsing through the country store. We were seated fairly quickly in spite of how crowded the place was. The servings are very generous. I love the hashbrown casserole. The breakfast menu has a lot of choices. The only thing that I didn't like was waiting to pay our check. I had to stand behind people who were buying things in the store and couldn't make up their mind about which knickknack to buy. I just wanted to pay my check and leave. There are 3-4 registers available. Make one available for people who simply want to pay for their meal. read more
