It's difficult to not give a great review here, but I think we came at a bad time. On a Sunday, the restaurant was packed when we arrived. However, we were seated right away. This is cash only, and menu items are affordable. Our service, and food was not good. Once we ordered, it was clear that our food was forgotten (all other tables that came in after received food, we didn't) at one point after an hour of waiting, our waitress finally asked where our food was, which wasn't made. Next, the table next to us receives a club sandwich, but that's ours! They took it back.... Brought it back over to us. Burnt toast on one side, non toasted bread on the other (whaaaa?) about 10 minutes later my salad came out, it was not good. The chicken was brown it was so overcooked and dried out. One of my favorite breakfast spots of all time! Definitely the best breakfast spot along Rt 40 from Beallsville to Uniontown. The menu boasts cheap breakfast options, and they have the best little servers here! I'm a french toast and sausage kinda gal and this always hits the spot. The only thing I would change about this place is that I would add shredded hash browns to the menu! Love the western interior here too. My grandpa was a chuck wagon cook in the Rocky Mtns many moons ago, so this place serves up some special nostalgia for me. They can get busy on the weekends so expect a wait or go early! Definitely one of Washington County's and Rt 40s secret gems. read more

I'll start with CASH ONLY! Important to know if you are looking to order. We had the fish sandwich special, barbecue chicken sandwich and baked beans, Turkey club, and a breakfast meal. The food was all delicious, the fish sandwiches were massive. The turkey club had lots of meat and a good bacon ratio. The fries were good, all the fries on the table were eaten. My sister said the baked beans were to die for and my breakfast platter had lots of food for little money. Everyone who worked there was so friendly and helpful. Chuck Wagon is in a rural Pennsylvanian town and is one of the nicer establishments around. They have a great menu and a super nice staff. The ladies that work here are phenomenal and made us feel right at home with some home cooking and small town heart. The sandwiches and apple pie are delicious and very affordable. They only take cash which can be an inconvenience... they can probably benefit from a larger building as this place can get very crowded with a long wait during school days (especially Sunday mornings). My boyfriend and I are currently taking a road trip from DC to Indianapolis. Naturally, we got hungry about 3 hours in and decided to find a convenient place to stop. Chuck Wagon was on the list and had pretty good reviews so we decided to stop there. I'll admit, we had low expectations, which isn't necessarily bad because things could only improve from there. When we got inside, Jody was our waitress. Jody was so nice and helpful without being pushy or annoyed by our questioning. She has a beautiful energy and she's just a truly kind and genuine person. I ordered a pancake and the bacon egg and cheese sandwich, both of which were delicious and served their purpose. I was satisfied with the food but Jody's service was truly something special and made all of the difference. We're thinking about stopping by on the way back. read more

When the parking lot was almost full and the line was out the door at 9am, we knew we found the right place. My wife and I both had the biscuits and gravy and are already talking about our next road trip for breakfast. We drove an hour to get there on our way to Laurel Caverns. Chuckwagon has only gotten better (if thats possible) over the years. The food has always been great but the customer service keeps getting better. I used to feel like I was in a Seinfeld episode and that I would get kicked out and not allowed to return. Luckily, the last time I felt that way was probably 6-7 years ago. I go at least once a month and only ever order breakfast to eat there. Sometimes I will get soup to go. I refer to their pancakes as 'crack cakes' because they are so delicious and are addicting. The most DELICIOUS breakfast meals my family has ever eaten !! My husband always gets the French toast with an egg & bacon. The French toast is incredible !! The dining area isn't that spacious & if you get there between 11am & 1pm you may have to wait a bit for a seat but it is well worth the wait !! I get the breakfast plate that has a little of everything...eggs, home fries, & sausage. I usually get 1 piece of French toast on the side. I used to get pancakes but they are so huge I couldn't eat anything else. The staff is very friendly & we've never had to wait long. ( even when it's busy ) The prices are quite reasonable....2 of us can eat breakfast for approx. $20 & we are so full that we waddle out the door. If you're looking for a large breakfast that's just like your own homemade & for a very reasonable price....I totally recommend this small & clean restaurant with a diner atmosphere for possibly the best breakfast you may ever eat !! read more

My husband and I stopped here while waiting for our car to be serviced. It was a quick 2 miles down the highway and well worth it! It was a very typical small town diner. Cliental appeared to be mostly older locals. Food was served in a snap! Prices were fantastic. Decor was dated. We both ordered a #5...2 eggs, toast, hash browns, and a meat. Eggs were done perfectly, as ordered. Food was hot and quickly served. Only minor complaint was the coffee. It was ok, but not great like the rest of our meal. Waitress was very attentive and kept our drinks filled. She answered all our questions with a smile! Next time we are in the area, we will be stopping by! Ugh- After reading reviews- had to stop. Lunch was okay- but couldn't keep my thoughts from the French fry on the floor which was covered with Ants. This was connected to a trail of ants from one chair leg to the other . Not sure how long it took to form this ant farm , but made me want to just get out of there. Wondered if the floor was hospitable to this group of ants- what would the cooking area be like? I was in town visiting for Cal U's homecoming and we stopped by on a Sunday morning. The place was packed with locals and students. We had to wait a bit, probably 10 or so minutes. The food was okay and cheap. I got the cheese and bacon omelette with a side of home fries and the eggs were a little too cooked for my liking. The home fries were just normal unseasoned potatoes and the coffee wasn't very good. It's an okay breakfast spot but a good value for your money. I believe for 4 people, it was under $40. read more
