After spending about 3 minutes with Dr. Wilkes at my initial consultation I was told that I needed a joint replacement in my right foot. I was trusting and agreed to the surgery. Two days before the surgery I received a message that a script for pain meds and antibiotics had been submitted to a pharmacy that I had never used in the past. And I had never used this pharmacy because they didn't accept my insurance. I contacted the office multiple times and was told the mistake would be corrected. Since the script had not been properly submitted by the day of the surgery I mentioned it again, both to the OR prep nurse and Dr Wilkes. I was assured the meds would be available post op. But they were not. Since the surgery was on a Friday (don't ever have surgery on a Friday) I was forced to go the weekend without meds. On Monday I contacted the office 3 times and was told the messages would be relayed to Dr. Wilkes. But Monday evening the pain had become so bad that I required a trip to Sutter Roseville ER. (See attached pic) The ER provider submitted the script for pain meds and antibiotics immediately. After a couple of months post op and still experiencing intense pain in my right foot I question Dr. Wilkes as to the surgical procedure that he had performed. He assured me the "joint replacement" had been successful and that it would take a few more months before I would have any relief. After seeing Dr Wilkes multiple times and getting the same explanation re. the surgery I decided to see a different podiatrist. Upon the first visit this new podiatrist scheduled an MRI of my right foot. Long story short, the MRI did not show that the joint had been replaced. The doctor mentioned that she was unable to determine what had been done during the surgery by Dr. Wilkes. She also mentioned that the joint was "destroyed" and that a second surgery would be required to fuse what was left of the joint in question. There are other negatives associated with my treatment from Dr. Wilkes but I'll skip over those to keep this review as brief as possible. If you're considering surgery with Dr. Craig Wilkes I would definitely advise to seek a second opinion. read more

In my search of a good podiatrist I came across Dr. Wilkes during my online search. He had raving reviews on google and yelp at the time, more than any other practice. So based on the amount of good reviews of other patients I decided to set an appointment to meet with him in regards to the pain on my foot and not being able to add weight to it. I was using a cane to help me walk. Once at the appointment I noticed there was a sign in the waiting room offering patients a $10 gift card for leaving a 5 star review online. This was unsettling, asking for reviews in exchange of gifts. No wonder he had so many reviews. During my appointment, Dr. Wilkes thought I may have a sprain or torn ligament, he suggested a cortisone shot may relieve inflammation and pain. Also, right away he wanted me to try on a boot to help support my ankle and asked me to walk on it. I told him I could not even take a step and he kept insisting that I would get the hang of it, but it was physically impossible for me to do so. I decided not to get the boot or the cortisone shot (since I was pregnant). He referred me to get an MRI. A day or so after getting the MRI I called the office to get my results and was told that Dr. Wilkes would call me later, they did not have an appt for me to go in at the time. Didn't hear from the doctor, I called again the next day since I was experiencing a lot of pain, I was told the same thing, that he would give me a call, and of course nothing. Until this day he has not reached out. The girl at the front desk just had to read me the findings on the MRI. I thankfully went to an ortho who got me in the very next day after he saw the MRI. I was diagnosed with transient osteoporosis on one of my bones, and the reccomendations Dr. Wilkes was suggesting with the cortisone and walking with the boot would have worsened my condition. The damage could have been permanent by limiting the use of my foot. Maybe this was out of his scope of expertise and that's why he did not follow-up. My complaints are that it is unethical to provide gifts to patients in exchange for good reviews, a lot of people have different levels of needs/treatments and for a buck $ people will only feel the need to say good things in order to get compensation. Also, I find this to be misleading and unethical, specially when dealing with someone's health. And, the lack of follow-up is highly unprofessional and getting the right diagnosis after an mri should have been provided by him or at least be able to say that he is unable to provide a diagnosis. Not to mention the course of treatment without even truly knowing what the issue was would have caused more damage. Definitely do not recommend. I've had this review sitting on my phone and finally decided to post it in hopes that I help someone in case they have a far more serious condition than he could handle. I saw Dr. Eunice Cho recently for ingrown toenails removal, and plantar fasciitis. She was fantastic, the office is nice and clean, very spacious, and staff are professional and helpful. Dr. Cho was so informative and very gentle during the procedure. She also took the aesthetics of my toenails into consideration during the procedure which was greatly appreciated, as I loved to wear open toe shoes. I had to bring my baby, and they were so accommodating to my needs. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and highly skilled podiatrist. read more

Came here with my grandma for a first visit. We were referred here. They have a small waiting room but the inside room where they room you is very huge! There's no door in the room that they do room you in so I feel like there is no privacy but exceptional. Has very comfy chair that fills up the room. We came here late and were still seen. MA are kind. Doctor is very kind. She took care of other issues with my grandma foot other than the fracture that we came to be look at. Will referred this clinic to anyone that has anything to do with lower extremities. read more

While treating me I ended up rupturing both of my achilles tendons. Between both Dr Wilkes and Dr Monson I have received excellent care and soon should be back to normal. Very thankful for Dr Wilkes for helping get my foot mobile again. After an ingrown (and infected) nail came back multiple times & navigating insurance, he and his team worked to get me back on my foot after another doctor tried three times. They were able to diagnose other foot pain and get a neuroma diagnosed and treated. Their office kept me in the loop while working with insurance and handled everything to get me in timely too! Multiple offices made it easy to get scheduled quickly too! Hoping my foot cooperates this time, but if not- I'll be back! My initial experience with Dr. Wilkes was pretty good. We progressed through an expensive treatment and I only really ran into some minor issues with his billing department. However, several months after my last visit, I ran into a situation that was affecting me in a negative way. I needed to get some additional follow-up questions answered. After 5-6 phones calls to the office, which included talking to office staff and leaving multiple voicemails Dr. Wilkes and his office still have not returned my phone calls to help me. After an expensive treatment you would think a short 10 minutes consultation would not be out of the question, but it appears to be. I have always found it is important to have a doctor that wants build a relationship with your doctor before, during and after your treatment. People should be aware that after their treatment is over, if you have questions or any other concerns, you may find yourself in the same situation I did. I had to establish with a new doctor and pay more fees, when a short conversation would have worked. read more

Dr. Thomas Del Zotto, a doctor in this practice, is so nice and so funny and so professional. All at the same time. He has been treating my daughter for chronic ingrown toenail problems and finally she needed to have surgery which he did. We have always felt like this practice is very skilled! The front desk girls are also very professional and happy. It's always fun to come here. It also is a great location being so near to the Folsom Costco right at Mercy Hospital on Bidwell. The office building also happens to be beautiful as it has a gigantic Atrium right in the center of all the offices. Dr Wilkes is a fantastic surgeon. Very patient and answered all of my questions. I had a peroneal​ tear repaired and at 12 weeks out my foot is 100%. Woohoo!! Great healing/incision site, etc. The office staff seem overwhelmed. I requested they get pre-approval on custom orthotics (I had met my deductible so timing was urgent). She showed me the x-ray of my ankle troubles. What a mess. I had a bone spur growing right at the joint. I had cartilage damage, etc. Dr. Cho performed surgery. I didn't have any pain after the surgery! She is professional, confident and knowledgeable. The staff at her office are great and always returned my calls. I've seen two doctors here in my two visits, and both were spectacular. (One was a man, the other female). They both were really friendly and informative. Both of them didn't have the typical doctor attitude of "I know more than you, just do what I say". And that really meant a lot. I ask a ton of questions so I'm glad they took the time to listen & respond. The wait is typically 20 minutes TOTAL except if the Dr was called into an emergency surgery. I like the facility, it's dated but really well maintained. My only problem was that the door was hard to find. It's a double door with no windows, and one is always locked, the other remains closed. It looks like a closet if you're just walking by. All in all, would definitely recommend this place & Dr. Wilkes. read more

I recently had bunion surgery with Dr. Wilkes. I have had bunions in both my feet for as long as I can remember and I finally was tired of the pain in the worst one. Scared of horror stories I had heard from other people and family I decided to trust in Dr. Wilkes based on another yelp review I read. I had no pain after the surgery, I stopped my pain meds 2 1/2 days post surgery. Compared to the pain I was in for years this was nothing! I just went for my one week post-op and couldn't be happier with the results. Next week stitches come out and I'll continue the healing in perfect time to show off my new foot this summer! This is by far the best podiatry office I have been to, and I've been to 4 to treat my plantar fasciitis. They do not push treatment and are particularly strong in non-invasive techniques to help plantar fasciitis. I have done the MLS laser and had excellent results after having 2 years of PF. I am just starting shockwave to hopefully get it gone completely. They are very reasonable in the prices as compared to many other chiropractors and podiatry offices offering these treatments. They are excellent at accommodating schedules and have a skilled team of assistants who are very knowledgeable and reassuring. read more
