The Practice office manager (Cathy) proceeded to come into the waiting room and inform me that I could not swap doctors (which was originally Catherine Bourne-NP} Particularly upsetting was that this conversation took place in the waiting room, in front of other patients who were sitting and waiting to be called, rather than in a private office setting. I felt this situation lacked professionalism and sensitivity. Additionally, I felt insulted by the repeated statement that "we do not swap patients." The wording itself felt inappropriate and demeaning. Patients are individuals seeking medical care, not objects to be swapped or traded. Throughout the conversation, the office manager repeatedly emphasized that Catherine Bourne, NP, had received many accolades. My concern, however, was never about credentials or accolades. Unfortunately, our experience with Catherine Bourne, NP, was not a positive one, and a previous letter had already been submitted regarding our first visit. At that time, my husband was undergoing both radiation and chemotherapy, and we were already dealing with an overwhelming and emotionally difficult situation. All I wanted was for my husband to see a neurologist who could better understand his condition and provide care that was more compatible with his needs. My husband was experiencing aggressive dementia symptoms, which require patience, understanding, and compassionate care. I understand that physicians may have the right to decline taking on a patient if necessary. However, I do not understand why a patient should not have the opportunity to seek another provider who may be a better fit for their medical and emotional needs.

I always walk pain free for a couple of weeks and that makes my quality of life better. I only wished they could be given more frequently. My only reaction is a red face from the steroids. I had two teeth pulled at the dentists see the teeth that are not there . My wild hair is not from the shots Either. That was from chemo. Dr Bohan is the best. We always check in to see how he is doing too. He needs to be healthy to take care of us. If you need a knee doctor. Call for Dr Bohan. The shots don't hurt if you relax. Think of the ocean waves. Tell them Bev and Willie sent you. Dr Bohan is fantastic. Update: I had an MRI completed and it showed severe Arthritis. I'm thinking Arty is my new middle name. Dr Bohan explained everything to me using simple words I can comprehend. His kindness goes beyond just the chart and he sees me as a person. I do not feel like a number in a line of other numbers. He treats me with respect and a familiar professional friendliness as I have been his client for over Ten years. His team works so well together. I know I am receiving the best care always. Dr Bohan smile lights up a room when he is telling me good news. He always is interested in the travels and adventures Beverly and I take on. If you are looking for a kind, caring, professional, knowledgeable, Orthopedic Doctor... you found him. Tell him Willie and Bev sent you. Dr Bohan is the most caring and compassionate doctor. I was in the ER last night and they instructed me to follow up with an orthopedic physician. I am already an established patient with Dr. Bohan so I called to see him. They were able to see me quickly. The nurse took me for an X-ray and then to an examination room. I did not have to wait long. Dr Bohan listened carefully to me. I explained my fall in detail and exactly where I hurt on my knee. He carefully examined my knee and lower leg. We discussed various options for follow up care. Everything was explained to me in a way I could understand it. Dr Bohan's knowledge and experience is the best. Don't take my word for it. Ask for him when seeking a fabulous orthopedic knee doctor. The pain began gradually in my right buttock and extended down my leg, becoming so severe while shopping that I needed to rely on a shopping cart to reach my car. Concerned about the duration of this condition, I scheduled an appointment with Ortho SC for the next day. Although the pain subsided by the morning, the incident was unsettling enough that I decided to proceed with the appointment. Upon arrival, the nurse inquired about my reason for visiting since I was not in pain at the time. Her tone suggested skepticism, as she referenced previous x-rays that supposedly indicated such incidents could occur. I then explained the situation to the PA and posed several questions: 1. How can I prevent this from happening again? - The response was that prevention is not possible. 2. What should I do if it happens again? - I was advised to return for a visit. 3. Can you provide something to alleviate the pain until I can see you? - The suggestion was to try Tylenol. 4. Should I consider physical therapy to prevent recurrence? - A recommendation could be made if desired. Overall, the visit did not meet my expectations, as it seemed more focused on pain management than prevention.
