My husband and I hired Craig Scott for our entire wedding from live musicians during the ceremony + cocktail hour (piano and guitar) to a DJ through the reception (DJ Carlos). We initially found them through a list of preferred vendors provided by our venue, and after our first call with Rich we knew they'd be able to help make our day perfect! The team as a whole is so friendly and responsive, and was always willing to get on a call to discuss any questions we had!Nick worked with us for our live musicians, and helped make the planning process so easy. We had a few songs to transition through for our ceremony and he organized everything perfectly, even when we weren't sure if our specific songs could be accommodated, to give us the perfect medley of music. Carlos from start to finish was the perfect DJ for us. He gave us his personal number to talk to him about specific songs and vibes for the reception, and went above and beyond to deliver and give us the emo, punk rock night of our dreams. Everyone was on their feet dancing the entire night, and when there was the occasional short lull, Carlos knew exactly what to do to get everyone up and dancing again! We used Craig Scott Entertainment for our wedding in 2018 at the Terrace at Biagios. Larry and Gavin were an incredible violinist and guitarist duo. They played while my guests arrived and during the ceremony. Then DJ Carlos really got the party going during my reception. We had so much fun and my guests were so impressed. When one of my friends got engaged, she got CSE's info from me right away and booked for her date! Her wedding was 2/21/20 at the Pleasantdale Chateau and it was wonderful. You work with certain companies over the course of your life for a wide variety of things, but when it's your wedding it's hopefully monumental. My wife and I have recommended the crew at CSE plenty of times over the years and didn't realize we never "officially" wrote a review. I happened to bump into Nick at a random restaurant tonight and even though it took him a minute to remember my face - he immediately remembered so many details specific to our wedding - 16 years later. We had lots of working parts to our wedding and had issues with everything - except the band. They are not only on par for pricing (maybe cheap considering the value you get) but true professionals. I would have normally said "pros" but they deserve the full word. I could not recommend a band higher especially if it is for the potentially most important day of your life. read more

There are not enough GREAT things I can say about CSE. First off Scott Hornak is a great guy inside and out. He CARES about his clients, he CARES about the events he works with you on. I was lucky enough to have the Harry Stuart Orchestra play at my wedding a few weeks ago- well let me tell you it was A-MA-ZING to say the very least. I have seen their other live bands at holiday parties and they never disappoint. The band really brought my wedding to another level. They sang basically everything and were so very talented and concerned with what I wanted that night. All of my guests were blown away and I heard more than once that it felt like a celebrity wedding- I know the orchestra had a lot to do with that!!. I have to mention that I also had Marc DeLuca, guitarist play during my ceremony and during cocktail hour- my guests were all asking me who he was, he was playing Beatles, led zep, and it was done beautifully and with such class, my only regret is that I didn't hear it myself bc it was all going on before I walked down the aisle! Craig Scott entertainment is a company with lots of heart. They want to come out and do a great job. they also have fun doing their job! I have also seen their DJ's at a few holiday parties- they are so nice and also do a great job. For all my entertainment needs I will ALWAYS use Craig Scott entertainment. We recently celebrated our wedding in Tarrytown, NY (an actual in-person wedding with about 30 guests, though carefully done with mask usage and social distancing on Sept 5, 2020). We used Craig Scott Entertainment (CSE, from now on) as a music vendor. First, Craig Scott is great, because they offer a huge array of services (live music from small classical ensembles to bigger bands, and DJs offering) that can fit all the music requirements for a wedding from ceremony to reception. Its much easier coordinating with one music vendor that will supply musicians for all phases of your wedding than a DJ (for reception) and ceremony musician separately. A really nice aspect to Craig Scott was that during our preliminary meetings to discuss our wedding vision with them, they wereN'T pushy about upselling us on more services; we really felt like they were catering to our needs (and budget). Another great thing about Craig Scott is that they are extremely flexible, responsive and professional. Our initial date (like many weddings this summer, due to COVID) was cancelled, but CSE worked with us to fill our new date (and venue). It was a stressful time re-planning a wedding in all the uncertainty of a pandemic, but Craig Scott's team never added to it, but only helped reduce it. We ended up with a classical guitarist to play for guest arrival, the ceremony and cocktail hour. We provided a list of songs to play during the ceremony (processional, recessional, etc.) through a music survey from Craig Scott. Our selection for this was mostly traditional, but we added an semi-obscure song for the bride processional.  Day of, Phillip the guitarist, knew it to a tee and played the hell out of it. He was great during the ceremony, and set an elegant tone with the music. We missed some of the cocktail hour (as the venue likes to hide the Bride and Groom away for a bit, for a big entrance), but our guests were all very impressed with his performance, a nice set of mellow classic rock/folk standards, which was the vibe that we asked for. For the reception, we had a DJ (DJ Carlos) provided by Craig Scott. This guy was wonderful and a pleasure to work with. He was very accommodating; talking to us a few times before the wedding to iron out the details--after we told him, we didn't need to worry about it again, he just took care of it. And day of, we had a few requests, and he just swiftly took care of them. Also, while he was at our wedding (in accordance with state law due to COVID), he wore a mask. It was a nice touch that reassured our guests. Our wedding guests skewed a bit older, so we were a bit worried that we wouldn't have much dancing, but Carlos got everyone out there on the dance floor and encouraged participation, and just made it into a great party. He was awesome. We provided some song suggestions for him, and he took those and created the vibe that we were looking for. Also, we did the dance-floor uplighting as well, which turned out really nicely later in the evening after the sun went down. Overall, Craig Scott's team did a great job ensuring that our wedding music went off without problems. We are very pleased with our choice and highly recommend any couples in the NYC-area looking for music for their wedding to go no further than Craig Scott. read more

I am someone who is extremely picky about music, what I want, and definitely what I do not want. He understood my needs and concerns and helped with anything that I needed. We chose a violin and acoustic guitar for the ceremony and the cocktail hour and both entertainers did a great job with the pre-chosen music for both venues. Me and my husband got married in February at the Liberty House in New Jersey. We were referred to Craig Scott by Danielle, our wedding coordinator. I got to directly speak with Scott who was a very friendly gentleman. He was able to accommodate all our needs in a very professional manner and offered us competitive discounts on their services. We hired a string quartet for the ceremony, keyboard musician for the cocktail hour and DJ for the party. Everyone did a fantastic job, especially DJ Jason. We met with Scott several weeks before and spent an hour on the phone with Nick, the emcee. They asked good, probing questions to make sure they understood our preferences and our special requests. Most important, they set the tone for the wedding. We wanted "fun" and they delivered. We've learned that pacing is one of the unspoken important elements of a wedding. It's hard to recognize when it's good but easy when it's bad (e.g. breaks that are too long, slow songs that kill energy, etc.). Between CSO and our venue (The Rockleigh), the pacing was flawless. People had a great time all night long and it never felt like the flow was uneven. These are good people and outstanding musicians who know how to entertain your guests. I was very picky about who we wanted to perform because I didn't want a cheesy wedding and I wanted to get everyone on the dance floor. Wow, what can we say. Matthew and the Uptown Sounds made our wedding celebration so special. Craig Scott Entertainment is a 1st class organization from start to finish. They made the whole booking and planning process incredibly easy on the bride and groom... Before the event, we had a call with Matthew... and he made us feel so confident that our reception was going to be everything we wanted.. Matthew is easy going, flexible, timely, responsive, creative, and was genuinely excited for us and our event. First off, Matthew played the piano during our cocktail hour, and it was fabulous... He really knows how to warm up a crowd with background music- our guests loved it.. Now, for during our reception, they absolutely rocked it... they were everything we wanted in a band and more.. The entire band had energy all night. The singers were dancing, jumping, singing, and playing to the crowd as they moved freely around the dance floor... which was exactly what we were hoping for. It created a fun and exciting dance floor... just making the party everything we wanted.. Our family and friends are still talking about "how good the band was."
