My husband picked this campground online, and wow did he nail it. It's fantastic. Just $25 a day for the small RV section, and that includes free electricity, water, and gray water dumping right at your site. Black water dumping is available at a designated area. The highlights for me were being near the water, and the absolute gem of a camp hostess, Melissa. When my husband checked us in he said, "She's really friendly," and a few hours later I met her myself and had to agree. Plus, I got to meet the camp kitties. Shadow, the all-black mini panther, totally stole my heart. What a sweetheart. The campground was very quiet and peaceful, with free firewood and super clean bathrooms that are ice cold, which was a total win on a hot day. The showers are free and in great condition too. The entire park is tidy and well maintained. It's a dry park, so if you're planning to enjoy a cocktail by the fire, just be a little stealthy and bring a cozy. Civilization is about a 15-minute drive away, but still dry... so plan accordingly. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back. read more

What a nice park. I came here as it showed up my hiking app and I wanted to walk my dogs before continuing my road trip. I walked the lake trail, the rushed gravel trail along the edge. Cyclists have to use the paved trail so walkers and dog walkers can rest with ease There are restrooms at every pavilion. The park also has playgrounds, shelter, a campground and forested hiking trails. The best thing for those with dogs is the dog jumping pier. My dogs had a blast on the warm day we were here. Craighead Forest Park has always been a place for families to take their children. It's where I had my first date with my husband of 22 years and where I took our first child when she was a toddler. It had been a while since I had visited until the other day. I love the improvements they have made. I love the new walk/run/bike track. I love the outdoor workout stations. These are such great ideas. Does your child want to play in a castle? Does your child want to play in a fort? How about a jungle gym and swings? How about a splash park? Or does mom and dad need adult conversation and relaxation at a picnic spot of their choosing? This park offers all that and so much more... read more

Pretty park! If one playground or area is crowded just go down the road to the next. Great bike trails, ATV trails, hiking trails (that combine with the nature center hikes) and walking/running paths everywhere! You can fish, swim (when area is open), feed the ducks/geese, and even camp here. I have had birthday parties at the splash pad or other picnic areas. Great little park in Jonesboro for some fresh air and sunshine! read more

Great place to bring the kids! My wife and I had fun as well, three playgrounds that we found were a old fort, a colorful HUGE playground with basketball goals big enough for a 1 year old to play on, and a castle playground. read more

I can't believe how this park has improved in the past 3 years! I lived in Jonesboro for 12 years and now visit every few months. I've always been in love with Craighead Forest Park for its natural beauty, walking trails, fishing pond, dog jump and serenity. Over the last couple of years there has been so much work done to the park including brand new hiking trails, exercise equipment along the trails, new bike path and tracks, improvements to the splash pad playground, and new road they built for safety of the walkers/hikers. I also added new signs and roundabouts to improve traffic flow. They have added so many extras making the part truly one of the best parts of Jonesboro. This is one of those places I really miss when I'm away from Jonesboro. Scenic park with a small lake surrounded by tons of places for outdoor activities - playgrounds, open fields, pavilions, e.g.! I frequent the disc golf course (difficult for the recreational player with all the trees!) and the bike/run trails. The only real negative, which isn't really the fault of the park so it doesn't affect my rating, is that occasionally there will be a car going too fast on the roads. If you're cycling on the road, just be aware of your surroundings! read more

This park was really nice. My boyfriend and i just took a romantic walk around the lake in the afternoon. Not too busy with people. Loved that they had air conditioned bathrooms available along the path. I wish I had brought a bike because the bike trail looked nice. They have a bike repair and wash off station on the side, which is pretty cool. read more

This is where I go to see ducks & water always soothe the mind & heart, me & all my grand children go and play on all the new and exciting play grounds out there it is very nice it even has a child's fishing area all to it self my grand daughter out beats us all fishing!!! Terra just has that touch and I enjoy her and Mike Jr playing and the rest of my 11 grab babies loves the splash pad, it is awesome to see them all get along and help the other ones out if they fall or be bumped by another child, but everyone should visit there and enjoy your family, that's what FAMILY IS FOR.....SO ENJOY IT LIKE WE ALL DO AND HAVE A BLESSED DAY.... Beautiful landscape, everyone friendly out running with their dogs or sitting under a shade tree reading a book, truly the most relaxing place in Jonesboro. Spend so much time walking on the trails an watching people fish or feed the ducks. All the kids at the playground doing what a kid does having fun. The perfect place to be in nature. read more
