I asked a number of questions about the timing of the work, the type of seed to be used, and the need for watering before aeration and staff got back to me with clear and thorough answers. The workers were very efficient and courteous and took care with the work. Compared with previous aerations, I thought the work was of high quality. I am surprised to see overall low ratings for this company. I have gone through two other weekly mowing services in the last two years and Craigs lawn care has been the absolute best. They are dependable, on time every week unless there has been a weather delay and always responsive. Today they did a big cleanup at a reasonable price all around my house. My existing service made a deal with CLC to swap a neighborhood and my house was included, so without any contact in advance, they started cutting my lawn. Average job at best, but they also came when it was raining, including days when it had been raining for a week straight and the ground was saturated and soggy. And my attempts to contact them were unsuccessful. At the time they had no website, no email, and a telephone number that went straight to voice mail. I'm not sure if that's still the case because I got rid of them long ago. The only reason I thought to leave this review now is because I saw them cutting another neighbor's lawn recently, in the pouring rain. read more

We have used their mowing service for several years. A decent job but nothing special. This fall I asked them to perform a fall cleanup; mainly pruning and weeding. I discovered after the service that they had pulled up several mature ferns that were planted by a landscaping service more than four years ago. I was saddened to see this as the ferns were beautiful and I had cared for them for several years. I left a phone message telling them about the situation but no one bothered to call me back to apologize. By the way, it is impossible to speak to a person when you call. All you can do is leave messages, which are often ignored. When I paid the hefty bill. I enclosed a handwritten note expressing frustration that they could not even acknowledge the incident and apologize. That was really all I was asking although I will never hire them to do any cleanup ever again. No one acknowledged my note in any way. A poor way to treat a customer of many years standing. They pee in your yard. I caught their employee urinating on my property and no one returned my call to discuss the matter. If I caught them ONCE, I don't know how many times they had already urinated all over my property. They're cheap, so that's a plus. But that was horrifying. read more

Have you ever heard of such petty business practices!? We used Craig's Lawn Care (CLC) services to cut our grass this year. Earlier this month they arrived on an unscheduled date, and begun blowing our leaves, which we had clearly blown the night prior against our back fence line to finish picking up the next day. When I approached the team to ask them if they could stop and that we intended to do the leaves ourselves, they seemed very buzzled. We ended up having to call the owner, Craig, before they would stop. He immediately knew which house we were and said that he "spoke to my husband this morning" who said yard needed to be addressed today! I said three times, I don't think you have the right address, he continued to insist. I then had my husband (who "he spoke with earlier today") tell him not once but twice that he did NOT call him to request these services, and our yard clearly looked like we were in the process of doing it ourselves. It took us over 6 times us telling him there is clearly a mistake on his end and asked his team to push the leaves back to where they were. Fast forward, CLC invoiced us for services on that day that did not occur! Additionally, he won't return our call, email, or text regarding closure to the incident nor adjustment to the invoice. He has made his intentions very clear that we are not part of his route any longer since he still cuts neighbors grass, including today. read more

Was a lawn customer for about 4 months. Started noticing after a few cuts that they were literally cutting corners. They were neglecting to edge parts of the house they normally did, they weren't cutting evenly and they never answer the phone they have on file. They are flexible and offer bi monthly mowing which many others don't at a good price but beware as you get what you pay for. I started noticing a trend when I was home the grass was perfect but if nobody was at the house they were failing to cut the grass as good as usual. They weren't edging or blowing the grass and they even knocked out a few of my walkway lamps without replacing them. Customer service is non existent until you want to cancel service and then it's difficult to make your last payment as nobody wants to answer their phone!! read more

A last minute request for mowing and landscaping before an open house or for snow removal. They are extremely responsive. After using their services for multiple years for spring and fall core aeration, it seems I don't even deserve the courtesy of a call back requesting an estimate on new services. Left two messages and requested an estimate online. They never ever pick up their phone. You always need to leave a message. Good luck speaking to a human being. Craig was recommended to me in 2007 by a coworker. I was physically unable to care for my yard, something that gave me great pleasure and satisfaction. Craig's team does amazing work. I live at the intersection of the two primary streets in my neighborhood. It is common for passersby to complement my yard and ask who made it perfect. I can set my clock to when the team will arrive. My little dog and I enjoy watching them make our yard so beautiful. Used to be decent service; gone downhill ! We have cancelled service after several really sloppy cuts and unreliable service. They don't come when scheduled and run their standing mowers around so fast that they miss spots, the lawn is unevenly cut and couldnt care less. Time to move on, for us! read more

Craig's Lawn Care sent a solicitation to cut the lawn at our new home. Temporarily lacking a lawn mower, we hired them for an initial trial run. Their mowing work was fine. Unfortunately, the crew they sent out also saw fit to pull out stakes marking our boundary without asking and without noting carefully (or at all) where the stakes had been. The stakes were, of course, there for a purpose---fencing the property. This has the potential to cost us hundreds of dollars in re-surveying costs. I called and spoke to the proprietor and told him of this problem. He nevertheless was brazen enough to send a bill for their work. We will not use them again. read more

This company is stuck in the 1990's. They have no Web Page, no email they only communicate via phone calls. Their billing cycles are all out of wack and when they send you a bill they include every service they have provided you throughout the year and not just the service they provide for the billing period.
