When she was asked about it her response was "I thought we had a good rapport!". How is ignoring your medical history, not asking you about your past medication's and subjecting you to sudden withdrawal not to mention the return of your legitimate pain a good rapport??? The other doctors acted as if they were too busy to deal with me and no one came in and talk to me! No one except that hospital doctor. My own surgeon said to me they don't know you. They don't know your history so for the first time in my life, I felt unsafe and the hospital and signed myself out AMA. How is that? Good rapport?? Be careful if you're admitted to this hospital the staff is overworked, the nurses understaffed so much that they don't have time to deal with anybody who has a complicated case . I used to work at this hospital as a professional and I'm ashamed to even admit that. Don't go there if you can avoid it unless you enjoy being ignored and being treated like you're an addict.

He takes a very "down to earth" approach to everything and will explain anything that needs explaining until you completely understand him. As just one example of his above and beyond caring......My wife was in hospital for a problem completely unrelated to any of Dr. Tacks provided services, yet he found time to visit her in hospital two separate times while she was there. This man should be used as the prototype for all Physicians. My only regret is that I didn't connect with him much earlier in my life. He truly is something special.

The office is like stepping into another period of time. Didn't even have a working scale! I found her to be dismissive. Total lack of communication. What I thought was a physical was actually a first patient visit. At least that's how I was billed. And one follow-up became another follow-up appointment without any diagnosis or explanation. At the first folow-up, she looked quickly at my blood work and then didn't go through it with me. She referred me to a urologist in Albany who had had a lawsuit filed against him for negligence. From his reviews, it was apparent that surgery was his usually his first course of action and even Dr. Colbert stated that that was probably what he would recommend. I was horrified. Then, bookkeeping sent me a bill for a visit that I had already paid for. When I tried to explain to the bookkeeper what happened, she was very defensive. I even sent a letter with a copy of my payment and the receipt and no response of apology was forthcoming. They just want to get someone in as often as possible and bill as frequently as possible. I'm not sooo old not to catch them at their scam. There was no way I was returning to her office for a third visit. I started my search for a new doctor which, happily, I have found! But the main reason I am writing today, is to inform others of another form of Dr. Colbert's "care". Yesterday, I received a letter that shocked me to my core. Basically, it stated that I have 30 days to respond to whether I want to remain in her "care" and if don't respond I will be dismissed from her "care"; that she "will be unable to continue as your physician and will withdraw from further professional attendance on your behalf". In all my years of going to doctors and even if only once, I have never received such a letter. If she had "cared" from the outset I wouldn't here with a proverbial gun to my head. Obviously, she never took the Hippocratic Oath "Do No Harm" - her oath is "Do Not Care"!
