The wife and I frequent his place a lot. It is a bar and grill and has bar and grill menu which is not very big but has a pretty good variety. We have tried just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The grilled walleye on Wednesday is just about as good as I have ever had, anywhere! Shrimp on Friday ain't bad either.. They consistently have the coldest beer and sometimes it gets to my table at about the same time that I do. I have never had any problem with any of the waitstaff. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon for lunch with friends. This place looks a bit like a hole in the wall, but don't be fooled! The service was friendly and fast. If you like to play Keno, that's available. The food was knock out! We had the onion straws as an appetizer. They were fantastic, especially with the horseradish sauce! I had the open face roast beef...it was soooo good! The other folks had a salad with chicken fingers and another two split a burger. The food all looked great and everyone said how much they enjoyed it. The prices are insanely cheap for the amount of food you get. Drinks were pretty inexpensive also. Super nice staff that work very hard. Only a few items that haven't been up to par in the many, many, many times we've eaten with my family there. Smoking can be a real issue if it's a busy time (don't go on a weekend or dinner rush) due to smoking is allowed inside and you can't get away from it at all. We only take family for early dinner or early lunch. There mac&cheese was like a kraft mac&cheese so at least the kids like it. My favorite food of all time isn't that great here. Their sweet potato fries are waffle fries and always overcooked to where they are so crispy most times (bordering burnt) and you can't taste the sweet potato at all. Went for dinner 30 mins before close not realizing it and was greeted very politely by the waitress. Appetizers were out relatively quick and promptly had our drinks. Meals were cooked to our liking and fresh. For being as busy as they were they did a great job and I will be back. read more

Went on a busy Friday night. Food was good. I ordered their special of the day, which was a rib eye steak. Had a side Caesar and that was good as well. The staff was busy and I had ask where I can sit but other then that, they were friendly. I may go back later this weekend. We have been coming here for years. Staff and food is consistently great. Shrimp night is my favorite! Catfish great too! It can be pretty busy on the weekends, sometimes a 20-30 wait. I only took away a star for smoking policy. As a no smoker, I do not care for sitting next to someone that does smoke well I am eating. read more

Our friends have raced about this place for a while now and insisted that we all go here last night for dinner (from out of town). We drove the 40-min and glad we did. Absolutely delicious! Jakobi (not sure if I spelled it right) was our waitress on this very busy Saturday night. Somehow we got a table right away and drinks were at our table shortly after. For as busy as they were, we were surprised at how quickly the appetizers and meals came out. The food is fantastic but I honestly was more impressed with the prices. Nobody's meal was over $8 and they were generous portions. My favorite dish was the catfish dinner. The coleslaw was soooooo good! This place impressed so much that we made a day trip back today and stopped in on our way back out of town. Once again, Jakobi was our waitress (what are the odds, LOL) and she was just as attentive as the evening before. Food was again delicious. Will be back again! read more

This was our first time eating here. The food was great!! BIG portions and reasonable prices. Super friendly staff. The only downside is that they allow smoking and I'm not a fan while I'm eating. This place was great! Five star for a small town home cooking style place. I had the chicken fried chicken dinner with white gravy and mashed potatoes. It was salty and crisp plus very flavorful. It came with green beans that had been cooked with bacon grease and some of the best Texas style toast I've ever had. read more

Food was excellent! Only snafu was my wife ordered the tenderloin slider thinking she was ordering a grilled beef tenderloin. What she got was a deep fried pork tenderloin slider. On the opposite end of the calorie scale. The only other issue I have is the restaurant allows smoking just like every restaurant in the lake country. I do not understand why one restaurant can't just say no smoking! It sure would get our business but as it is, we just rarely go out to eat when we're down here. Wake up! read more

We've been here a few times and really liked it, up until today. We will not be returning. Food wasn't cooked all the way. Our waitress decided to go out in the parking lot while we were leaving to tell us my parents couldn't bring their own drinks, which was fine up until she complained about us not leaving a tip when she was leaving to go inside. Her exact words were "You're not allowed to brink your own drinks in, especially if you're not gonna leave a tip." However we did leave a tip so we went in to let her know in case someone other than her took it and she continued to be rude, she said we left her a dollar when we left more than that. First off we didn't have to leave her anything because her service wasn't that great. I don't recommend coming here where a waitress is gonna disrespect you and her boss doesn't do anything about it but say she wasn't rude when they weren't even there to see what happened. On top of have guys follow you AGAIN from the bar and watch you till you leave. read more
