We stopped in after visiting family at Purdue and had a nice time. We didn't try the food but the pizzas and breadsticks looked and smelled phenomenal. We will have to come back again with empty stomachs. The bartender was really good to talk to and had lots of great suggestions. My favorite was their sour. It was fruity and smooth - not at all too sour or overwhelming. They also had a really tasty jalapeño cream ale. Nice and roasted jalapeño flavor without all the spice up front. There was a lot of regulars there and we were all watching sports and hanging out. It looks like they have lots of events throughout each month if you need something to do this winter! Visited Crasian Brewing Company about 3:00 p.m. on a Sunday. We have wanted to come back and have more of their Knock Out White Stout and try the pizzas from Pizza Uncommon in West Lafayette. Mike was our beer tender and he was knowledgeable and friendly. I had the Harold's Red and my wife had the Knock Out White Stout. The Knock Out uses a different type of bean so it is not dark. It looks like a lager beer but has just enough of that coffee flavor to it. We took home a growler of each of our beers. The pizza starts out frozen. I believe it is made at the main store for Pizza Uncommon and kept in the freezer there in the brewery. It did not take very long for the pizza to come out. It was really really good and welcome on a Sunday afternoon. I had the plain pepperoni and my wife had the crab Rangoon and both were excellent. We always enjoy Crasian and this was another 5 Star experience!! read more

The 4.9 score is well deserved. Very un-Brrokston-like craft brewery with very good selections. My non-beer drinking SO quaffed a flight! And liked it! A wide variety of house made craft brew for every taste. They serve pre-made pizza from a W. Lafayette pizza joint that are surprisingly good. Brick walls, stainless brewing equipment and exposed ductwork complete the decor. Service is good, a combo of self-serve and some table service. Will def head here next time I crave beer and pizza. read more

Crasian has some of the best beer in Indiana. I love their sours! Each time they make the apple popcorn beer for Brookston's famous apple popcorn festival I go and get a few packs of crowlers to take back to Indianapolis. The pizza is from a local pizza place in Lafayette (can't remember the name) but they have such unique flavors like crab Rangoon pizza or hot honey pepperoni. This place is absolutely worth the visit. They have indoor seating or a cute little beer garden in the back for whatever mood you're in. Service is always awesome here. read more

Haven't tried the food yet but the brews are making Brookston proud, another excellent Tippecanoe area brewery option with a metal and brick atmosphere, open seating area, plenty of parking, lovely outdoor patio with games and pet friendly spots, and that tap list! Most of these smaller new places cannot accomplish much more than four to six options but these guys must've took that as a personal challenge to maintain a full double selection of that! I've sampled the pineapple sour, very easy to drink, sweet and restrained flavors that don't bite like some sours which I happen to go for however a bright sunny sip is always welcome. The red is bitter, bold, rolling in those myriad notes we all pretend we know, nutty, vanilla, smoky smooth slightly cigar vibes. I'm making some of that up but I bet you connoisseurs know exactly what I mean. I've twice filled a growler to go both with the Swerve City Baltic Porter which speaks my language best. The staff is crazy friendly and neat to see a rewards program too. The lovely ladies at a table had to ask what the lil glass of nitro barrel Aged was. Easy to assume something is special when a crowd gathers wondering what it is! Will definitely be sharing this with my heart friends! read more

A nice renovation on this building. Some exposed brick walls, built out bar, and comfortable pub tables with dedicated electrical outlets. There's nothing fancy to the outside of the building and easy to drive right past it. Watch out for the high curb on the street. Inside is welcoming and spacious. The staff were friendly, from the attentive barkeep to the talkative owners. They've already developed some regular local customers. I got an $8 flight: Amber, IPA, porter, and stout. The beer is 3.5-4.0 stars, that's my first impression. The IPA is above-average for sure. Slightly hazy and fruity. The effort, the pride, the local feel, the friendly service are 5+ stars. I think the beer volume, quality, and variety will hit its stride. For a nano to have four on tap at once, well done. Crasian is a great place to stop with friends and share some beers or even bring in a pizza from next door. It's also spacious enough to find a quiet table out of the way for an introvert party. I really enjoyed this place. From the (genuine!) Hong Kong rickshaw to the funky beer collection and absolutely amazing bar top, hewn from a single trunk of black walnut... man, that thing is gorgeous... this is a real treasure. A few things keep me from a five star rating though. The beers are good, but most of the ones we tried were kind of trying too hard to be flavored. The pineapple flavored beer was REALLY strong on pineapple... and the coconut flavored beer was over the top coconutty... and the coffee flavored beer was utterly devoid of ambiguity on the coffee spectrum... I get it, they want intense flavors, and they're cool and funky, but the flavors they're showcasing aren't, y'know, beer! The other nit to pick is that, if you want any food, you have to order from Pizza King, around the corner. The good news is that they deliver. The bad news is that the food's not very good, and the delivery people kind of don't get the whole "customer service" thing. ("You want a FORK for your salad? Um... okay, I'll be back in 15 minutes.."). So... great foundation, lots to build on, and I definitely plan to return, but lots of room for improvement as well. read more

Don't let the unassuming exterior sway you from going in! Once inside this place is really inviting. Plenty of comfortable seating throughout. The barkeep Mike truly stoled the warm welcoming! He was super personable and friendly! On tap was an incredible variety. Maple Brown, really hoppy IPA, delicious Red and the show stopper a smoked jalopena Cream Ale. And a few more we never got to. The Crasian Brewing Co. is located at 207 Railroad Street, just down from the Brookston Pizza King. They are doing a "soft opening" as they get everything perfected. Hours are Thu & Fri 2-9, Sat 12-9, and Sun 12-6. We stopped in with friends last night and thought it was quite nice. A long table fit our group of seven nicely. We tried the "flight" which has samples of four of their kinds of beer. After that we each had one or two pints of our favorite. I liked the Porter the best. Flights are $8, pints are $5, and growlers are $8. They have some excellent t-shirts available with their logo on them, as well as growlers, and pint glasses. At the end of the room there is a big window looking out into the area where they make the beer -- lots of giant shiny stainless steel containers. Though they have no kitchen, patrons are free to bring food in. Luckily Pizza King, Klein Brot Haus, and Top Notch are all within a half block and have carry out. Crasian Brewing is great place to visit with friends and enjoy some excellent brews in a friendly atmosphere. Anyone would enjoy a visit here, and craft beer enthusiasts will like it a LOT! read more
