We stopped in on a whim and were glad we did. The beer was outstanding--so much so that we left with a four-pack and a growler. We live in the Indianapolis area, so it's not the easiest place for us to visit regularly, but whenever we're in the West Lafayette area, we'll definitely stop by for a pint or, at the very least, a growler to go. Although there is no food served here there are food options near by that you are welcome to bring in. They have a vast selection of their own brews plus canned guest brews, ciders and wine options. The staff bring a friendly vibe and make you feel welcome. Some supply chain issues with various kitchen items but the staff make the best of it and share alternatives. This place was amazing! We just stumbled upon the brewery when going to the farmer's market and boy am I glad we stopped in. The hospitality was absolutely amazing! We decided to sit at the bar and Ezra was our server. He struck up a conversation with us and we shared a few laughs. I definitely wish we found this place sooner, but me and my boyfriend will definitely be back! Stopped in here to kill some time before a show at Purdue. Was dead empty on a Saturday afternoon. Bartender was friendly and helpful. We both got flights. Beers were good but nothing too special. They had mostly IPAs with a few other options like cream ale,kolsch, porter. I tried the red wine style seltzer which was interesting and unique, very tasty! Enjoyable classic watering hole hidden between the CVS and Pizza Hut, excellent food menu, decent house brews, not quite the Teay's River selection and definitely far from the massive selection at The Tap but combining some easier pickings from both with woody rustic atmosphere. Nice spot to enjoy music trivia, catch up with friends, and relax during the week where there's plenty of parking. Finally made it here! I heard about this place when I moved here just over a year ago. I actually drove by it every day and didn't know because there's not great signage so you have to know what you're looking for. Nice, clean little brewery. I didn't feel like there was a wide selection of beers. About half were IPAs and the rest were pale ales or ciders, none of which are favorites of mine. I did settle on a rye IPA that was good...the first IPA I've liked. I liked the place and will return to get a broader experience and try more beers to form a better review. read more

We went here to celebrate Father's Day and take advantage of a special offer. My daughter had been here before and recommended it. Seating is limited inside but there is also an outdoor patio. The service was great, at first, then degraded the busier it got. We had three different people serving our table at different times. I had the salmon that has a tasty glaze and includes brown butter rice and local asparagus. I recommend it. The chorizo flatbread pizza is also very good and spicy. One of our party ordered a pulled pork sandwich without the bun. The portion of pork was tiny and wouldn't even make a good sandwich! And it's $17! Brokerage seems to be trying but they are just not quite there food wise. Beer wise the cream ale I had was delicious. I would give this place another try. read more

I and my girlfriend were in Indy at Daddy Jacks for a couple of drinks and said we thought we would try Brokerage Brewery for supper. I heard they ground their own hamburger so, no frozen patties like a lot of restraints here in Lafayette do. Well, so here we go... As we went in, the place had a really plain and stark look. There are three rooms. The first has a glass wall showing the brewing, the second is the main entrance where you see the kitchen and the third is the bar. We asked for a table for two. Oh, this is a small place with few tables, small bar and wood benches for booth seating. There were some cute aspects like the glass wall showing the brewing setup and the natural wood finish work. But overall, lacking. Why? Funny you ask. We went in with some expectations of a great brewery, hand ground burgers and a wonderful quaintness. Not there. When we approached the front desk, I asked for a table for two. Hmmm.... Looking around there was a large selection. Not just in the front, but the bar and the brewing room. We were directed to a small table (Oh, a small table) for just two by what looked like a supply closet. I asked if we could sit at another table. The young lady was kind enough to to look around for a while until I pointed at a table and asked if we could sit there. Still not a great place to sit. There were tables available in the bar as well as in the brewing room. Not many people. That's just getting a seat. As we sat down, we ordered drinks and expecting to order dinner shortly. I realize everyone hires new people. The poor waiter had no idea what he was doing and struggled with the order and of course so young knew nothing of the beers. Hmm.... It's a brewery. I ordered a glass of wine for my girlfriend and a pint for me. The wine came out and we stared as the person who brought it out, unscrewed the top and left the bottle. Did I say we ordered a glass? The pint of beer came out. Now, I'm not a prude with beer. But, the beer was warm and not served in a chilled glass. It was warm and really not that repeatable. But the possibility of food was still looming. I looked over the menu and had my site set on a great burger. But, nothing on the menu spoke of fresh hand ground burger the way I thought I read on the website. So, I refrained from ordering as I finished my beer approached the desk to pay and asked the kitchen staff.... not get this.... "Do you make your own burgers or are they frozen?". I got the most awful look from the person in the kitchen. You would have thought I asked if I they served "crap.". I said I read on their website that they advertised daily hand-ground burgers. I got this dumbfounded stair you wouldn't believe. Needless to say, walked out. No burger. Won't return. Sorry. read more

We really want to like this place, but they make it hard. On our first visit, the cheese curds were great and the cream of asparagus soup was delicious. Everything else was just ok. And even in early fall, it was cold in the bar area. We tried again this evening and couldn't have been more disappointed. First, it was freezing! It was cold outside, but the two doors into the bar, as well as the front door made for a constant, cold draft and intermittent blasts of cold as people entered. They could have upped the heat, but seemed oblivious to everyone sitting with their coats on. We also suggest they close the front entry into the bar to reduce the cold blasts. Also, they need to do something to keep the cold from the front door away from the food prep area. We were left waiting for server attention while watching two parties who came in after us served promptly. We felt invisible. When a server finally did come, she proved to be totally incompetent. We had to ask for menus. My glass of wine was the smallest $8.50 pour I've ever seen--probably 2oz.. seemed like she had no idea what to serve. We ordered cheese curds for an appetizer and grilled cheese and soups for our mains. They all came out at once. The cheese cures were, again, good, but everything else was dismal. I actually had to question if I misunderstood and had ordered a cold soup, as the squash soup was THAT cold. (It was supposed to be hot.). The grilled cheese were supposed to be served on Turano sourdough. They came in Texas toast that was barely warmed. My cheeses were almost completely unmelted. I sent my plate back. They said the chef was tending to it "personally.). When the server brought it back she said the soup was "steaming hot." It wasn't. It was barely lukewarm. The flavor was great and I ate it, but it would have been much better at the proper temperature. The re-cooked grilled cheese was still bad. I took it home and properly grilled it. It was still not good bread and the bread to cheese ratio wasn't right for that much bread. My husband's plate was largely the same, though his chili was slightly warmer when it arrived, but not even warm enough to melt the sour cream on top, (which he said he didn't want.). It took a while to get our check because the server was too tied up with chit-chat behind the bar. We are VERY generous tippers, because we understand the value of good service, but sadly, could not feel compelled to give a big tip this time. As I said, we want to like this place, but sadly, not sure there is enough here to draw us back. read more

In West Lafayette visiting for the day and had been wanting to stop here for quite awhile. We pulled in an hour before they opened, and were bummed because we had to get heading back out of town. We called to see if anyone inside that could possibly sell us some crowlers before we headed home. They were happy to open the doors to use 1 hour before opening and invited us in to taste some beers as they filled our crowlers. We got to talk with their brewer and learned so many things about the brewing process and stories behind the beers. We will absolutely visit again during our next time in West Lafayette! read more

With a calm, local vibe and the ability to have food delivered (there's no kitchen), this place makes it easy to enjoy a drink and your favorite takeout with friends. It's about time West Lafayette had its own brewing company. And Brokerage knows exactly what it's doing. The draft list is changing daily, but the two beers that will always be available are the Walking Ashland, a cream ale, and the New Kid on the Hop, a west coast IPA. Their own creations take up a majority of the menu, but there's a handful of other breweries featured on there as well. Wine is also available. Brokerage doesn't have its own kitchen, so you are more than welcome to bring in your own food. They have a couple menus of nearby options if you didn't plan ahead. Other cool things: -They won't play sports on the television, except for a Purdue game if televised. This keeps the crowd from getting rowdy and lets everyone enjoy themselves. -Plenty of outlets and booths available. Perfect for a couple of Purdue students to do homework if the coffee shop scene just isn't their style. With plans to expand into a larger part of the strip mall they're in, I can only imagine Brokerage will continue to gain popularity. They have a vintage fire truck that they installed taps in, which will be super fun in the warmer months with food trucks around. read more

I'm only a little salty that a craft brewery came to West Lafayette after I graduated. But I'm not holding that against them. What I loved most about Brokerage was their dedication to their local community, specifically their neighborhood. Their decor features blueprints of homes found in the surrounding subdivision and it's neat to see the little bits of history and love for this corner of West Lafayette. One of the bartenders told me that it's a popular choice for parents while their kid takes piano lessons in one of the neighboring homes. Other high points: -Ability to bring in own food gives you so much flexibility. See what take out menus the bartenders have. -No sports on the TVs keeps the crowd lowkey. The space is quiet and well decorated. -Great beer menu with constantly rotating draught list. There's always something new to try. -The logo is awesome and I love toting around my growler with it printed on there! There are plans to expand the interior of the space, as well as create a patio with a parking lot for food trucks. I'll definitely be coming back on my next visit to West Lafayette! read more
