Pottery shards from Crate & Barrel.

A long-term Crate & Barrel customer, but the store and its service has noticeably declined in recent years. My most recent misadventure began with an online order: a three-part ceramic snowman. It was poorly packaged for shipping and arrived shattered. When I went to the North and Clybourn store to exchange/return, I was first assisted by a young associate who was quite flustered. She informed me that no replacement inventory was available and as a "final sale" was not eligible for a refund. To resolve the issue, I waited for an older associate, Lindsey, to finish a phone call and assist. While she processed the return, she told me she could not refund my credit card due to the "final sale" status. Instead, she insisted that store credit was the only option. When I expressed frustration -- after all, the problem began with C&B's inadequate packaging -- Lindsey doubled down. She dismissed my concerns, stating the packing was 'just fine' and that there was nothing more she could do. The irony, of course, was hard to ignore: if the packaging had been fine, I wouldn't have been standing there. Indeed, I had purchased the ceramic snowman late on Christmas Day, fully aware it was a final-sale item. But "final sale" should not mean customers are left to deal with broken goods. I made this purchase under the reasonable expectation that Crate & Barrel would deliver the product in good working order; what I ended up with was pottery shards, poor customer service, and a credit to a store I don't even like anymore.

When it comes to Crate and Barrel stores this location takes the cake. The store has an elevated shopping experience consisting of multiple floors that contain an expansive inventory selection. They have a plethora of displays from indoor and outdoor dining rooms, living rooms, children's rooms, etc. You're surely find whatever you're looking for however if you need help just ask one of their friendly sales associates. Our wait at the checkout was very minimal, however, if you prefer to skip the line, they also offer curbside pick up for your convenience. If you opt out of curbside picking, there is ample free parking available in the lot outside the store.

Firstly, I do want to say that the customer service here is excellent, all except one, you know who you are, lady who keeps lying. here's my experience with this location. They don't manufacture their own products, they are basically wayfair except more expensive because they stamp their logo on everything. Many of you probably know this but, I didn't know until I received a sectional completely different from the one I experienced in store. But because it took a year to actually have my piece delivered, during the time, they've taken it down their site so there's nowhere for me to go to find reference for the original specs. After discussing it with their manager, initially we agreed to have a replacement. Which took another year. And when it's finally time to schedule delivery, the store would call to schedule and the warehouse would call to cancel on the day of because they don't have the full thing. And this just repeats even after I asks the lady who called from the store to schedule the delivery to double check with warehouse which she refused and later lied to me saying she did. So after I cleared out my living room for again, the dispatchers just stops calling me and just shows up. Then left telling me they don't have the whole thing and they are going to call and ask what happened. Which I never foundout. after such a frustrating cycle of having to deal with the games they play, they finally agreed to a refund and have the couch stored at my apartment picked up. when the movers came, they had nothing to protect the couch with and just rolled it down the stairs. while getting it out of the apartment they also pushed it through the living room floor. then they started circling whatever excuses they could saying "oh there's A LOT of hair on the back of the couch". yeah because you pushed it through the hair that's on the floor. how else can there be hair on the couch. If you buy anything thing big, make sure you don't see it anywhere else online because it's the same just more expensive. If you do go through with purchasing, take photos, screenshots, asks for written documentations for everything, and I mean everything. hopefully my case was just due to covid and all the resource shortage and what not. But oh man, it's like watching living through a scam furniture shop 101. I would have not expected a $4k couch to become a 2 year problem but it did. Thankfully it's out of my apartment now. Hopefully the refund doesn't become a dreadful game as well.

Love the help from Sophia K! Thank you! May 2022

I stopped in here looking for summer acrylic cups and stemware-I was immediately greeted by team member Sophia K! Sophia took me to the area where the merchandise had been moved and showed me the different styles and options. I loved the Blue Tint! Plus the Plain-as she said-"Really they look like real glass!" It IS TRUE! Better acrylic in the summer! Outside! Anyway, Sophia also got me a basket and since it was my birthday weekend I also purchased two bowls with chopsticks. Everything worked out perfectly. I love this store-but SOPHIA K is STELLAR.... Brick and Mortar Stores should continue to hire people Like Sophia K and reward them. She was honest, helpful, kind, professional and when there was no one else to ring me up due to the line-she stepped in to help! Thank you SOOOO VERY MUCH! Loving my purchases-immediately prepared to use all of my purchases this evening! Thank you for making my BIRTHDAY COMPLETE!

Crate and Barrel is known, at least in my opinion, as a decent place to buy some inexpensive or reasonably priced kitchen items. However, over the years, they have expanded to selling decent quality small appliances and furniture. I'm not a huge fan of their style. I typically opt for stores such as West Elm. However this review is not really about their style as taste in furniture varies widely from person to person and is often without logic. What this review is about is the helpfulness of the employees and general costumer service of this store. On the first floor of this store is mainly kitchen gadgets, small kitchen applies and flatware with some dinning room tables and chairs mixed in. The service on this floor just ok. There are plenty of employees, but they often seem too busy or too disinterested to help. On a recent trip to purchase four dinning room table chairs I had a mixed experience. I found four chairs that I liked and felt they were priced well. I was direct by the staff on the first floor to arrange purchase on the second floor. I took the info from chairs and to register on the second floor. There was a group about four men starting around and behind the counter. At the time, they were all talking to each other and my approach seem to bother them. After I got their attention, they attempted to assist me with my purchase. After several failed attempts to find the correct chairs and sign me for a Crate and Barrel credit card I finally was able to purchase the chairs. Throughout the process I feel that they more concerned about gossiping almost themselves that helping me.

Chloe couch. Doggo seems concerned lol

Only wish they had more of their online store available in person, but somehow we convinced ourselves to purchase a couch without ever seeing it in person. Talk about risky. Anyways couldn't be more happy with our new leather Chloe couch and delivery to our place was a breeze as they brought it up the stairs and took all the wrapping and packaging with them. Anyhow, compared to other locations I've been to in the past, this one seems to have more on display. In terms of quality, I've never been disappointed with the Crate & Barrel items I've purchased in the past. Their customer service is pretty good. One of the bar stools we had ordered recently came damaged, and there was no issue getting another one ordered and delivered. Additionally, they were nice enough to price match went the same bar stools went on sale a few weeks later after we had purchased. Some final things to note here... the store itself is doggo friendly, so feel free to bring along the furry friend while you shop. Their credit card is quite the deal if you plan on purchasing big items. The cash back is totally worth it. Lastly, this spot does have it's own parking lot so feel free to drive in without have to worry about finding parking on the busy street. 'Til next time, cheers!

Stay at home too long, almost forget it's holiday season! Thank you Crate & Barrel!

I have been here so many times haha. Just like the feel. People are nice inside. I don't see any sales items yet, guess more people are shopping online, but I still prefer the old fashion way.

I had a Kilim carpet bag which needed repair. It wasn't in an obvious spot (under the main flap)…read morebut I knew it would worsen and denigrate the bag over time if not addressed. I went to Tribal Looms for advice and perspective remedies. The elderly man who seems to run the shop was honest. He stated that he most likely could not replicate the weave but could stop further damage. That was my goal. I agreed to the price and left my bag. I was told that it should be ready about a week after our evaluation and discussion. Approximately 3 days later I received a voicemail from a woman "concerning my bag". I called back (assuming it was regarding the fact that they couldn't repair my bag-- due to the timeline of the response.) The next day I received a message from the same woman urging me to pick up my bag because the work had been completed. I called for a week-- trying to arrange a pick-up time. We finally connected and met again in person. This appears to be a small, specialized, family business. Hours are general and vary upon workload or appointment. Upon arranging and picking up my bag, the work and craftsmanship was AMAZING. Although my expectation after our discussion was a basic stop gap (can't replicate the weave but can prevent further damage)-- he went above and beyond to replicate the pattern and prevent further harm. His craftsman shift was spectacular! I would FULLY give this 5 stars if it wasn't for the ambiguous hours and lack of response.

We just bought our second rug this year from Caspian Rug after a major apartment renovation…read more Exactly what we wanted and for a very fair price. Working with Lazar and Kamal is a wonderful experience. No pressure but they worked to find us what we wanted. If you are looking for an Oriental rug Caspian Rugs has a great selection. They all carry more modern rugs, but that isn't our interest so I can't comment on that. However, before trying anywhere else, give Caspian Rugs a visit. The quality, service, selection and pricing can't be beat.

Was in the market for Persian rugs to replace three I currently have…read more Went in looking for rugs of three different sizes to replace current ones that are a bit worn. I was assisted by two men, who insisted that central Asian rugs were the most popular (perhaps so, if one isn't willing to spend $$$ on a Persian rug). However, I asked only to see their finest rugs (Persian Isfahan, Tabriz, or Qum origins), as all the rugs in my home are traditional/fine Persian rugs. After getting the run-around for 25min, the men finally conceded that they have mostly central Asian and Eastern rugs, which I did not wish for. If you're interested in Far Eastern rugs, this store has plenty. There were only two Persian rugs that they had to show: a 12' x 10' and a 14' runner, both too small and humdrum. Went to Isberian immediately after, and found a trove of fine and traditional Persian rugs for my home. While I didn't find what I was looking for at Caspian, they do have a vast variety of rugs at reasonable prices.
