Amazing food. My favourite restaurant in Regina. I have been here thrice and have had a fantastic meal every single time. The ambiance, the food (in terms of taste, ingredients and presentation) and the service; everything is top notch. They have a 3-course menu for $39 which includes soup of the day or garden salad, any main up to $32 and a dessert. I have tried their soup/garden salad; sustainable salmon and Tuna main dish for mains; creme brûlée, Chocolate cake and coconut semi freddo for dessert and loved them all. We had a private room for our last dinner of a week of company meetings. It is set in a former private club that seems like it may have been an early 20th-century mansion. Lots of cool rooms and decor in the place. We started with charcuterie boards that had a great variety of pickled vegetables, cheeses, breads with hummus and other spreads, and plentiful oysters. They had a fabulous squash-based cream soup and a tomato salad with local ingredients for starters, and the choices for the main course were some juicy short ribs and - believe it or not - a tender and tasty yellowfina tuna. Everytime I come here they never have anything I order on the menu. The staff has selective amnesia, and i'm more than certain if I went into the kitchen there would be a row of bunk beds because everyone is tired, and slow. Also, I would love for just one place in this city not to play sports on big screen tv's in their "classy" establishment. read more

Don't try to be something you're not. Don't try to sell yourself as a five-star restaurant when you're a two. Had the soup it was amazing. Had the special and I was confused. The New York strip loin that was tougher than shoe leather. The building is unique and nice yet the patio was closed , for the life of me I could not figure out why. I asked the bartender he said it was because it was cold out. Wait a second aren't I in the cold capital of Canada. Anything above 7° would be warm. The menu claim the chef was an award-winning. Maybe he was an award-winning chef in a previous life. Overall I guess it's really not a bad place but it's just not what it tries to be. The Decore is dated the patios great the staff well, if I get called sir in a condescending tone again well I think I will have say something. Regina is apparently the restaurant per capita capital of Canada. If this is the case then how could this claim be true. The Crave came highly recommended and yet it was terribly disappointing. So if you're looking for a unique building with unique lines in a bar that's says look it's 2006 then the Crave is for you. The upside of the Crave. It has four separate rooms for four different sizes of parties which is a good thing. The menu is weak the presentation looks great for rush hour, taste is another thing. Not saying I wouldn't go to this restaurant again to discover more things on the menu because it does deserve this. I'm just saying stop claiming something that you're not. Please clean your BAR and up dated your most uncomfortable seating. I know my review is harsh but it deserved to be. I love a good meal but when my meal looks rush hour traffic. I wish there were 6 stars so I can offset the crazy low ratings here. Yelpers, you need to know that the staff including the bar folk are crazy helpful and super comfortable engaging customers. They made me feel at home even all the way for Los Angeles. The olive appetizer was exploding with flavor. The salmon special was quality. They were open late and the last time I came here I had the same great service late at night. You should go here... Flip across the street is good too, but this is darker and more enclavish if you like to just hide out, catch the game, or cozy in on a cold night. Oh and Olivia was my server both times and she was absolute perfection. Amazing service, helpful and all while having a good time. It's my new favorite place in Regina. Tried the lobster bisque and the saffron mussels. The bisque was fantastic. Mussels were a little bland, but that could have been due to the overpowering Lagavulin that I was sipping before. ;) Great service. read more

They must have changed things since the last reviewers were here, but I didn't experience any of the previous complaints. I went with a buddy, and had a very good linguine with pesto and shrimp/scallops. The scallops were a little cold, making them unappetizing, but other than that, the dish was flawless. The patio at Crave is not their strong suit. Some of the chairs are a little unsteady, and the mosquitoes took away from the experience. However, later in the night, the lanterns and open fire added a nice touch. Staff was a little above average. Not the most attentive I've ever seen, but extremely friendly... It was a bit pricey for the food I had. Not overpriced by any means, but I just felt that it could be better for what I got. The wait staff was friendly and attentive in the beginning, but I kind of felt ignored after they delivered the main course. No offer of dessert or to freshen my drink. I've been to Crave a couple of times and have had some decent meals there. I like that they have private rooms for more intimate dining experiences. They have a great wine and beer selection. My only comment for improvement was that the Brussels sprouts were pretty flavourless - they needed some honey or maple syrup to take away the bitter/burnt taste. read more

After tasting Jonathon Thauberger's food at the Gold Medal Plates Reception I was eager to see what he was serving at Crave. Since he had won the Gold in the Regional event with a rabbit dish I was very happy to see the rabbit roll on the lunch menu. I really enjoyed it. OK..this place needs a much higher rating! My Co-worker and i ate here 2 nights this week...i may go back for a third night. The wait staff is friendly, helpful and prompt. The infused Ketel One is fantastic as are the appetizers and mains we had. The first night i had the special which was a bison steak on beet mashed potatoes and vegetables. Fantastic! I wont itemize it all but everything we had was a pleasure to eat and the portion sizes were actually larger than we expected. I walked past some much higher rated restaurants and kept on going. I'm going to preface my review as a foodie who has had the opportunity to travel all over Canada and the world. I've eaten at many of the best restaurants that Canada has to offer. I'm originally from Toronto and come from an Italian family in the food business . If you know anything about Italians, you know that excellent food and wine is incredibly culturally important. This restaurant is a Hidden Gem in Regina and clearly misunderstood given the negative reviews on Yelp. I had one of the best meals that I have had in years at Crave Wine Bar. The service was excellent. The offerings on the menu are incredible. I spent a good portion of my evening looking at menus online and walking by different restaurants downtown because I was looking for the perfect dining experience to complete my time in Regina. I'm glad that I took my time because Crave Wine Bar was exactly what I was looking for. The chef clearly knows what he is doing. I will emphasize here that it makes total sense to me that this is an award-winning establishment. If I can suggest anything on the menu, the charcuterie board options were mind-blowing. The offering of raw and organic cheeses was incredibly exciting for me and even more impressive were the mini homemade breads that accompanied my cheese and The delectable Saskatoon Berry compote. This is a sophisticated establishment and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed my conversation with staff and I wouldn't hesitate to return. I was very happy that they offered an organic wine option on their menu. It arrived perfectly chilled which is very important for white wine. The whole experience was really quite perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. So my advice, ignore the negative reviews and make a reservation for Crave. Give this establishment the recognition it deserves and write a positive review if you've had as wonderful an experience here as I did. read more
