I wish I can give this man no stars at all. That's how bad the experience with him was. Hire him at your own risk! He talks a good game but cannot deliver and DOES NOT have the skillset for the job he advertises. For the number of years he proclaims to have been doing this type of work, the drywall patchwork he did for me does not support the claim at all. Paid him to get three less than 4" holes in my ceiling patched up and painted. First time he came, he took almost 4 hrs to patch up the holes, all he wanted to do was just talk. Now I have worked with numerous contractors in the past and know quite a bit about drywall, his method was not the most efficient. He cut out the drywall sheetrock and used the paper from the sheetrock to hold up the sheetrock in the holes. with the plaster.. very inefficient -- took way longer to do. and this resulted in one of the holes not coming out right. So the second day he came, he came with his Uncle to so call complete the job, had his Uncle sandpaper the two holes that came out ok, the third one, the Uncle tried to repair with additional plaster.. smh.. They both ended up leaving, saying that the plaster needed time to cure. First of all, I have had a drywall job done in the past, the work was way bigger, and the hispanic contractor took less than 1hr to complete the job, so I honestly did not understand why something so small was taking so long to complete. My frustration with him at this point was growing. I don't even want to talk about the confusion in the price he quoted me. The quote kept changing and he kept blaming his phone app. Saying its this app that he uses that gives him wrong numbers..smh.. Ok, so going back to the drywall.. third day he came, I had previously told him that I had an engagement about an 1hr away to get to so I couldn't afford to spend hrs again waiting for him such a simple job. He assured me that he would, as usual, convinced me to pay him the remaining balance without the job being completed. Always listen to your intuition, something told me not to, but I went ahead and paid him. Dude came back with his Uncle to complete the job, he was late as always, and was taking his time to get started. Job that he said was already done ended up not being done, he had to apply another plaster to the ceiling to smoothen it out he said and had his Uncle to cure it. After curing it which took a good 30mins, he sanded it, didn't sand it well as there was and is still a huge hump on the side of the ceiling from the all plaster that he and his uncle applied. After the drywall was dried, time for the paint, this man did not come with a roller brush. he instead brought a sponge up to paint the ceiling. I was like astonished. I was like no.. let me just go get my roller brush and have him use mine, which I did. He declined to use my roller brush and said his sponge should work just fine... Oh I got worried, because I already knew the result of it. He started "painting" with the sponge. This man was just circling around the ceiling with the sponge. I swear my mouth was just open because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I could see the shadow of the work and the lines from the smearing. I told him that what he's doing was not going to come out right, and that I was going to call him after it dries so he can see. He was adamant that when the paint dries that, it won't show. I got frustrated and just went off because I couldn't believe what I was seeing and how he tried to blame the poor work done on his Uncle. Said that his Uncle was the one that did the plastering, and all he did was try to sand it down. Not going to lie, that made me loose it. I was MIFFED! Paint dried, see picture below. I sent him the picture of the painted ceiling, and this man tried to blame it on me saying that I didn't give him enough time to do the job! Meanwhile he got to my house at 4:10pm and didn't leave until around 6:15pm. HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK! He still needs to learn the craft, doesn't know what he's doing and needs more practice. Oh and he's also a thief, so beware! He stole my ladder. Stole it when I wasn't paying attention, and refuses to return it. It's all good, the longer you have my ladder in your possession, the more loses you'll continue to incur.
Found additional damages he made to my house (see pictures below). I'm being told it will cost me $200 to repair everything he damaged & redo the work he did..smh.. Hire at your own RISK!! read more
