It is January 2023 in the middle of the storms and hearing water pumping out of our crawlspace is music to my ears! In 2017, Miguel and his crew dug out a french drain in our crawlspace, installed a sump pump, lined the crawlspace with moisture barrier. Six years later, everything is still working. I just checked the crawlspace and it's very dry after weeks of wet weather. The crawlspace in our fixer upper house we had purchased in 2016 would experience significant flooding. Moisture from below would bring mold and mildew through the floor boards and into our home. We lost so many shoes, clothing, rugs, etc after the first winter. Now, we've been dry ever since Miguel came and worked on our crawlspace. Thanks so much to Miguel and his crew. I also remember his team being very courteous. We got to test Miguel's work this week with the latest atmospheric river. Almost 3 inches of rain over two days, and both sumps worked all day on Monday. They are quite a bit noisier than I realized they would be, but it is a small price to pay for a clean and dry home! Our 1300 sq foot crawlspace used to be flooded with water to about 3 inches deep after any heavy rain, and it would smell so gross. Thanks to Miguel and his team, the space was bone dry and smelled completely fresh with no musty or swampy smells whatsoever. Amazing!!! Highly recommend this company. read more

Upon arrival he inspected the crawlspace and gave me an honest appraisal. Based on his inspection he did not want to oversell me with both a barrier and pumps. He offered to return for a second inspection to see if after the rain I would indeed need some pumps or not and just a barrier only. We had our crawlspace cleaned and sanitized after a rat invasion. Crawlspace Specialist, Miguel, came, assessed our situation and proposed cleaning out the mess, using a sanitizing spray, and putting down a 20 ml. vapor barrier. In addition, he improved our foundation supports, by replacing them with the piers, instead of the paving tiles the previous specialist used. He also recommended an electrician for installing power under the house for my sump pump who was equally nice and easy to work with. I had a sump pump with french drain installed as well as a vapor barrier. All the work was done very professionally. I like how the sump pump drains out into my irrigation pipe near the drain spout, very neatly. Miguel patiently answered all my questions and also had a reasonable price. I'm sure they do good work by looking at the pictures posted. However, my project never left the ground. I messaged Crawlspace Specialist and asked if they can look at my sump pump. It had been making funny noises. Miguel messaged me back and said they do not "look" at sump pumps. My reply; asked him what a new sump pump would cost. His reply: $1200 plus any extra work like a french drain. Told me to look at his website. I did not care for this interchange because no effort was made to assess work and advise what is to be done. Miguel and his team installed a sump pump and French drains for us last year. We've been very happy with it, and I highly recommend him! He communicated well throughout and was flexible and helpful about the specifics of the project. They carried out the installation itself very efficiently, and actually extended the drain further than specified without any extra charge. He also rerouted a pipe for us so it was even less visible outside the house - again more work for them, but he clearly takes pride in his work and wants the client to be happy. They left the site clean and it's a very tidy installation. The pump itself is extremely quiet (I've maybe heard it twice in total!) and did its job effectively through the rainy season. read more

He created trenches in our crawlspace, replaced a dysfunctional sump pump and fully encapsulated the area (which is a very cramped space). I have to agree with the other reviewer for this business. This is the best encapsulation company in the North Bay. If you have water or drainage problems this is the company you'll want to call. The owner (Miguel) came and was very professional and courteous. He listened carefully to our problem which happened to be that we had fixed our water/pump drainage but did a horrible job. He had to fix what we had already messed up. Our crawlspace was incredibly small which he had to run a pipe through and he dug and secured a place for our sump basin in the backyard in this solid adobe soil. This was a difficult job but he handled it with efficiency and grace. He backs up his work 100%. He came back to our house after the work was done to check on things and fix something that he didn't like - real integrity. We trust him. He's reliable, on-time, detail oriented, and comes up with good ideas for things that we may have not thought of. Bottom line, he's awesome! This is a review for a French Drain and Encapsulation completed in 2015. I should have got to this sooner. Pros: Quality is outstanding. I've had numerous contractors under my house for various projects. All of them have commented on the outstanding quality of encapsulation. Some even asked to take pictures so they could show their crews how to encapsulate better. Price. I got numerous quotes, Miguel gave me the best price. Ingenuity. I had a complex drainage issue and he figured out a good plan of action. Cons: (somewhat nick-picky) At the time (2015) he didn't seem as knowledgeable as I would have liked about how many crawlspace vents we should seal after encapsulating. Before, we had several inches of water in our crawl space in the winter and a stinky musty smell all year round. Since these guys did their work, it's been dry and much cleaner. We had some standing water and very wet soil under our house. My wife has asthma and is very sensitive to the odors that would come up when the crawl space was exposed or the heater came on bringing air up from underneath the house. I found Miguel's information online after a search for a sump pump/encapsulation specialist and found exactly that! We had a larger company come out and give us an estimate, which was very high in our opinion so we looked for others. We're so happy to have found Miguel for the job, whose estimate was substantially cheaper. My husband and I are expecting twins any day now and we were in a time crunch to get all this work done under the house. Miguel and his team were able to come on a weekend and got the job done in one day! Miguel was kind, helpful, and very professional in making sure the job was done correctly. We had two sump pumps installed, two french drains dug, and full encapsulation done, all in a very tight space under the entirety of our house. Miguel was also able to connect us with an electrician who he works with regularly. He came to the house a few days later to get the electrical work sorted for both sump pumps. We also had an issue with the insulation under the house and one of the gentlemen on his team who worked on the encapsulation also does insulation on the side and was able to come the following week to properly install that for us. Miguel and his crew did a great job on my house. Had them come May of 2015. They completed all the work which included: moisture barrier, 2 sump-pumps, french drains, and PVC pipe from the house down a 60 ft. trench to the street. They completed all the work in 1 and 1/2 days (and this was during the BIG fight). He and his team showed up on time, everything was communicated clearly, pictures were taken to show the completed work, and the price was half what I was quoted from a big corporate company.
