There is a coloring station, chalk area, watercolor painting, and a small indoor play area. It is a nice indoor area to take kiddos to beat the outdoor elements and still have fun. I would recommend getting the annual pass. The general admission is about $27 verses annual pass about $45/person. It's an easy activity for the children and there's lots to do inside. It does get quite busy on the weekends. As you enter, you receive two coins - customize a crayon or get playdoh from the vending machine in the middle of the facility. The crayons make a cute gift for all ages. I made one for my husband and a friend and they absolutely love it. The activities we have today is nothing compared to how we grew up! Came here with my four year-old daughter and she had a really great time. My husband and I also enjoy coloring. Did you know coloring is very therapeutic and relaxing. To be honest, we regret not getting the annual pass sooner. We brought my two year-old here with a group of friends and absolutely fell in love with the experience. We only took two days to decide to go back and get the annual pass for both me and my husband since my two-year-old daughter was still free. Ultimately, all I can say is every single time you go in you get scribble, pet vouchers, and coins to redeem for customized Crayola crayons or the model magic clay. Both of them are absolutely fantastic. The staff here is extremely friendly , Luz especially is a 10/10. We recently moved states and now the closest experience is about 2 1/2 hours away in Orlando. We will be visiting, but it won't nearly be the daily visits that we've gone for the past two months to the one in Plano being only about five minutes away from our previous home. I am so grateful for this experience . One thing I will say is be prepared for a little bit of heat because currently the air conditioning system is not fully pumping cool air into the Plano Crayola experience. I know it's not the staff's fault, but I really do hope that the mall gets their stuff in order to be able to resolve that for the entirety of the mall. Even without the air conditioning blowing at a nice cool 70 it's much much much less hotter than it is outside in Texas right now and this has been a game changer for allowing my kiddo to get out access energy without being under the scorching sun. We have had a pass for the past two years. If you're interested in a yearly pass, waiting for Black Friday is an excellent idea because they have great deals on memberships. With that said, we have been coming here a lot over the last two years and EVERY SINGLE time we are here there is something that is closed, or broken. There never seems to be anyone available for these types of things. Employees?, what employees? lol That said they have a great popcorn and soda deal if you buy the souvenir buckets and drink cup. It costs like 3$ to refill and you can bring them back over and over again. They give you vouchers and coins to use the modeling clay (basically play-doh) and a little scribble scrubbie animal. Despite some of the lower ratings of this place, I found it to be quite cool and entertaining. When going there on a hot summer day, you'd think it'd be packed, but that wasn't the case. The Crayola place itself was just, but not packed. The mall itself was a ghost town. Starting off, the place as a whole is indeed expensive. Just like everybody says. You can save some money doing online tickets, but I got mine even cheaper through a perks thing online, but I also saw you can get a Groupon for it. The gift shop is pretty expensive too. Just a couple of things and you're looking at $100+. I did not partake in the concessions, nor would I want to, but I did notice they were pricey. Inside of the place, they have so much to offer. They had dressed up characters standing at the front for the kids. They have so many places to sit and so many interactive stations for kids to enjoy. Most people from reviews say that alot of interactive things weren't working when they went. There was only one thing not open when I went and that was the hand molding station. Everything else was working just fine. The staff running the stations don't really seem to care, but they at least know what they are doing and will walk you through it. The decorations and the things we saw was cool because there were the less crowded areas because of the seven summer camps that were there but there were two employees laughing and cussing in front of little kids. I bought my 5.5 year old niece here for a fun morning and was disappointed. The pricing is the same for adults and children, and it was almost $70 for the two of us. I can't imagine how expensive a family would be! Your ticket buys one Scribble Scrubby pet (about the size of a half dollar), two tokens (can be used to get Model Magic or make a crayon with a custom wrapper), and access to the experience. They are severely understaffed and 90% of the machines for making crayon art were down and not being worked on. Lines were long (almost 45 minutes for some stations), and the place was overrun with daycare and field trip children. My niece felt scared to play on the indoor playground due to the rowdy children. The gift shop which can be accessed from the mall was her favorite part. We bought a plushie and a pack of gummy bears, which was much cheaper, and she had a better time looking at all of the stuff in the gift shop than the actual attraction! Save your money and take your little ones to something less expensive that runs properly. Bass Pro Shop or Scheel's is free and kids love wandering around in there. read more

Connected to the Crayola Experience is The Crayola Store. It's located right around the corner and also when you leave the Crayola Experience it funnels right through the store. Fun place! We came on a Thursday morning around 11am and it was busy due to a field trip. It's located in an empty mall, very sad to see the state of the mall. Don't come expecting too much and the experience will be great. I would see if you can get discounts online since we were able to get the black friday tickets that saved a bunch. My 5 year old had a great time and this place kept him busy for 1.5hrs. Two of the stations had a longer wait than expected, but I was able to stand in line while he went to explore. As an adult, I don't want my own crayon or scrubbie or do the activities geared towards kids, yet the pricing is the same for everyone 3 and up. & there were 5 of us! Out of all the little activities to do, my kids enjoyed the playground the most. I could've just taken them to an indoor playground and spent a lot less. I'm guessing this place was probably a lot better when it first opened but it just looks sad and dirty now and you can tell the employees don't want to be there. We had season passes pre-covid when they first opened & had a deal where the passes cost the same as a single visit. They changed their passes since then. Our oldest kid, a teen, wasn't interested in much other than sitting & drawing. Our youngest liked the various stations ... crayon drip, make a shaped crayon, name your own crayon, etc. We enjoyed the how to make crayon show but unfortunately learned during a recent field trip with our youngest kids school & coming up for a promotion that now they just play the show on a tv. Getting to see the machines in use was really neat for our kiddo who likes seeing how those kind of things work. With our youngest being 8 we don't know how much longer he would be interested in going, outside of going with a friend to play in the play area they have. Been here twice and have enjoyed it both times. Kids between ages 4-6 loved doing all the things here, we could easily spend a whole day here but it really just depends your kids. My kids love all things crafts, coloring, etc. Regular priced tickets can be expensive. Annual passes are great for those that live close by. Unfortunately for us, we don't but we were able to snag discounted tickets and it was so worth it. On our first visit one of the stations was down and they immediately gave us comp tickets to come back another day and within a few hours the broken station was fixed. We came back for the second time with our comp tickets and had a blast again. You can name your crayons, spin art is fun, they have coloring and painting activities that correlate with whatever holiday is approaching, there's an indoor playdate for those who need to run and get their energy out. Family restrooms and nursing rooms. A snack booth, looks like they have a cafe but for whatever reason it hasn't been opened in the two times we visit. They do seem thin on staff but I did notice the staff diligently cleaning and organizing the stations. Many places these days are short staffed. You get two coons with every admission that can be used for naming your own crayon or molding clay, a every time we had an issue wrapping our crayon or picked the wrong clay, the staff without hesitation gave us extra coins. My husband and I brought our daughter (22m) here for a fun experience, as we're from out of town and don't have one near us. She had such a fun time!!! There were many activities that were a bit too old for her, but she loved coloring the different sheets and climbing in Toddler Town. We made labels for her favorite colors of crayon with her name and her favorite things as the color names, which made her laugh. You can take pictures as a family and turn them into coloring pages which she was so into. The scribble scrubbie you get for free was a lot of fun, and she was quite happy sitting for a while coloring that. There are interactive games to play that she was able to do. A few things didn't get her interest, but I think we'll try again next time we're in town. I wish we had one closer to us, because we would definitely make this a regular outing for her! My 6 year old daughter went here with her school, and had so much fun she wanted the whole family to go... $150 later and I have SERIOUS buyers remorse. Several of the exhibits were having issues, or were out of order. There really isn't all that much to do. And for $150 bucks there should be nothing that requires extra fees. For the price of entry, you get two tokens, and a voucher for a pet. We tried using our first token on the creating a custom crayon. We tried multiple stations, but the printers didn't seem to be working. The staff was apologetic, offered us free tokens, but there really wasn't much we could do with them. After that my daughter showed us where we could buy a small package of clay with the second token. The vending machines worked fine, and we got the clay, but again... nothing you really could do with it there. Next we stopped and got our pet that could be colored/decorated. The pet is surprising small, like it fits in the palm of your hand small. There were multiple coloring stations, a drip art station, a wax mold station, and a few other things you could do, but they really weren't very time consuming or fun. After we visited all the stations my daughter went to the play place until we could see the show they offer. The show is really nothing all that special... our was not live, and was prerecorded. It does show how they make crayons, but I swear Mr Rogers did it better. While my six year old did have a good time, I really don't think that this was worth the money. I would say ages 5-10 would be best. They would take full benefit of every activity. This has lots of creative activities. Not sure if this placed has been cleaned since COVID began. I barely spent 30 minutes here with my 2 kids today because it was just so bad. This is just a small glimpse of the bathroom stall - covered in dirt & dust. The bathroom itself had a employee cleaning but I'm not sure that helped. The sinks and mirrors and walls had mold. Gross!We really didn't spend much time in any of the exhibits since the lines were so long or they cost extra $. There was a cafe but it was closed. My family and I went on a rainy day and it was actually pretty fun for all of us. We were all free because they had a military special, nurse special, and our kid was under 2 at the time. Everyone starts off getting 2 " coins" to use throughout your stay to make various Crayola memorabilia. One of those things are crayons. You can make your own personalized crayon which includes choosing your own color and personalizing the wrapper. There's several colors to choose from. Another thing you buy with your coins is a bag of modeling clay of your choosing and there's stations to mold it into whatever you like along with stencils. You can find out how a crayon is manufactured. You can take a black and white selfie with various backgrounds for you or your child to color in. (my fav part) You pick out a crayon to melt into the form of a racecar or ring. You can melt 2 different colored crayons to this spinner that makes a cool creative art piece. There's a huge playground in the middle of the place as well as a cafeteria. There's also a chalk area to play around in. You can also color a picture and make it come to life once scanned and your creation appear on the screen, but that one didn't work for us. It was easy to spend a good 2-3 hours there, so we even had fun as adults. The tickets seem pretty pricy though for what was available, so it would probably be a while before we went again. The annual pass in this case would be worth it if you go often. read more

Is it expensive? Sure. Did it keep my 5 yr old niece, 4 yr old niece, and 1 yr old entertained for 4 hours? Absolutely! They have a few fun take home souvenirs that the kids were able to create. When they weren't making something, they were dancing/playing, eating, or coloring! We went early in the day, before it got crowded. There weren't a lot of other people around so we had space and time to do what we wanted. What surprised me was that the food at the cafe was pretty good for kids food! We got 2 kids meals - chicken strips and pizza. They were both pretty tasty and hot right out of the oven! Awesome part is that as a teacher, I got a free annual pass, which included a slight discount for everyone else. If you work for the government, teach, are a first responder, or serve in the military, check out their deals. They also had a deal for Father's Day and they let you in free within 7 days of your birthday! Would I take my older nieces and nephews? Probably not. But the little ones loved it! read more

You could say that the prices are Cray-Cray. It's still a cool concept. What an Innovative idea. The Crayola Experience is to kids what the wine and painting experiences are to adults. Or maybe the painting with your body experience but that's another story. We didn't stay but we had a quick look and it's something which I think a lot of kids would enjoy. I did not enjoy the crayola experience and here is why: 1. You pay a hefty admission fee just to enter the facility. Once you are inside, there are many games and activities that require you to pay more money! There is an arcade in the middle of the facility that costs extra as well as a mining for gold activity and wax hand activity that all cost more in addition the admission! 2. The activities were not innovative and cheap. Again, the admission was fairly expensive , $24.99 a person. The activities weren't very interesting and the souvenirs you received were not memorable. Yawn. 3. The staff were young and disorganized alot of the time causing lines for the activities to become longer than necessary. Sigh. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because my son did have fun with the kinect activities. It kept him entertained for 30 minutes straight. I also saw lots of staff going around cleaning the tables. It is clear they cared about covid and followed specific protocols. I would never suggest the crayola experience and laughed heartily when I was asked if I wanted to upgrade to an annual pass. There was no chalk in the chalk drawing area near the dining hall. Had to ask several workers before things started getting fixed. Though when we left, the Kaleidoscope section was still malfunctioning so it's unclear if even when we asked, the workers did or knew to do anything at all. One time there was nobody manning the check-in station when we entered. Workers were at the register and saw but did nothing until we raised it. I'd be very disappointed if I visited from out of town and had this in my to-do list to visit. read more

Is this place just for white people? I was very disappointed due to severe racial discrimination. I visited with my child. However, a white female employee working at the magnetic section, specifically with bat-shaped toys, was extremely rude and discriminatory, which made me very angry. Even though there was no one in line, she instructed me to stand in the line but deliberately didn't press the start button and, after asking questions, continued to stand without doing anything. It was only after a while that she finally pressed the start button. I felt terrible and left, and to the next white customers, she explained things with a smile and was very friendly. Even when my child loudly said "thank you" to her at the end, she didn't acknowledge it and avoided eye contact. Her expression was consistently stern and angry during our time in that section. The Crayola Experience is inside the mall. The mall is marked very clearly from the outside with plenty of colorful signage. It is absolutely easy to figure out where to park. The parking lot that the signs point you two has the entry to the Crayola Experience right inside the doors, it was incredibly convenient not lugging the kiddos all around a mall trying to find the business. We went on a Wednesday, in the summer. We got there 5 till opening and very thrilled we timed it like this as we had the place almost to ourselves for 40 minutes and that full first hour was pretty quiet with no lines to do anything. We did leave after an hour because we saw daycares rolling in and knew we needed to not deal with that. This was our first time doing this so we learned that the season passes are only $5 more thank the day pass, there are activities inside that are not included and need to buy the arcade games, water thing for gemstones, and a couple other things. Activities: At the entry you get some coins, a paper business card size vouche, and a bag. You need the coins to make your own crayon label and molding clay. We felt it was better to have the molding clay but it was our first time do we didn't know any better. There are two activities where you use a machine to heat up the Crayola and if pours into the mold, a couple of the areas were not working properly so I can't speak on Thoes but I hope it was s fluke thing and I hope they work next time we go. The facility was clean, restrooms were clean, the staff was friendly. There isn't a ton to do here so older kids (7+) will bore quickly. The 3-6 yo would really enjoy this. Nothing really for the 2 and under group that would fit their skill set and the playground would not be safe for the under 3 group bc the kids in there haul it and would knock a little one down on accident. Overall I liked this place, kept the kiddos engaged for 45 mins and by the time they were saying they were bored the daycares were coming in anyways so it was fine with us.
