First, let me write that me and my husband have eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the US…read moreand abroad and the River Grille in Bentonville, AR is a GEM! Brenda, the owner has created a spectacular place with ambiance, service and a beautiful experience! Lou, the pianist is there on Friday and Saturday nights and is very talented! Zach and Adam are experienced waiters whose timing is perfect and their rapport perfect! And the food delicious! We'll take River Grille over any steak house in NWA anytime!

We chose River Grille for our anniversary. Saturday evening, and had to take the 5 pm spot…read more Over the years, if asked about best filet in town, without hesitation , River Grille would be our recommendation. The restaurant is tried and true, understated elegance , attentive service. All those things are still true. My husband ordered the wagu special. The meat was very very tender. I had the 7 ounce filet. As usual, we shared tastes, and we really couldn't tell flavor difference between the two meats. The filet is still that good. I also ordered the mushrooms as a side. A very generous portion came and they were fine. Not amazing, but fine. Our waiter treated us to a lovely strawberry cheesecake and we really liked it. It was light and flavorful. A nice end to a heavier meal. We like River Grille. We truly do. But there was something that didn't resonate as in the past. Maybe the addition of so many other restaurants in the area that also offer wonderful food has shadowed the specialness of this place. Maybe it was a few things that didn't show attention to detail as we were accustomed. We will go again? Of course.

Got takeout. Food is great, but a little overpriced in my opinion. I paid $57 for all my items…read more(after tax, before tip) but would've been more comfortable with $49 or less. I got the 3-dip starter, combo gyro, briam platter, tiramisu, and a drink. Out of those first 3 things, the combo gyro was definitely the best, and it's only $11 - even less than the appetizer. Great flavor, and a textbook gyro. Also came with crispy peppery chips. In comparison, the briam platter was just okay, and it's a whole $5 higher. But I will say the seasoning on the meat was better here; more savory. But I still think you get more value out of the gyro. 3-dip sampler was great, but $12 seems high for an appetizer, especially since the dips probably won't last through all of the pita slices they give you. They were real good (hummus, tzatziki, baba ghanoush) and the baba ghanoush was actually a pleasant surprise since I don't really like eggplant. Tiramisu is $9 but tasted great, so I guess I'm not too mad about that one. And soda was $3. Wait time was 20 minutes, which isn't too bad, but also slightly long since I was the only one there, before others started coming in for lunch hour. But the lady at the front was really nice and even refilled my cup before I left.
