We have been regulars at Crazy Wok since we moved to Margate in 2019. It is a small, pick-up or delivery-only restaurant. Most of the time we choose delivery, and they are always friendly on the phone and arrive sooner than quoted. We haven't really had a bad dish here, but our favorites are the BBQ Ribs, Chicken Wings, Gyoza/Pork Dumplings, Fried Rice, Wonton Soup, Egg Drop Soup, and Eggrolls. My only complaint is that I wish the Eggrolls didn't have shrimp, but that is just my personal preference. It could definitely be an issue with an individual with shellfish allergies. This place is just around the corner from us and we never knew. A good friend recommended it so yesterday we ordered carry out and man am I glad that we did! The food is wonderful and authentic Chinese not some Asian fusion substitute. Since it was our first time we ordered some of just about everything then my wife and I had a "Taste Testing" party and it was ALL amazingly good and wholesome. They make chicken, corn soup (a favorite of ours) and it was some of the best we've had, in fact everything was tasty and delicious. I'm always in search of a good Chinese take out place so I decided to give Crazy Wok A try. There is nothing crazy or inventive going on here. It's your standard Chinese take out joint like so many others in the area. They have a few tables if you want to dine in. I ordered a sweet and sour chicken combo with fried rice and won ton soup to go. The verdict was the chicken was rubbery and there wasn't pork in the fried rice. I always measure a Chinese restaurant by their fried rice. If the fried rice is good, you have a great chance the rest of their food will be as well. Crazy Wok has very good fried rice. I ordered a large beef fried rice, which wasn't seasoned as much as I usually like, then again I'm from New Orleans. The price was less than $10 with tax and it was a good size portion. I didn't stay to eat; however, the staff seemed very friendly and helped me right away. It is small, but the atmosphere was very pleasant and extraordinarily clean. There was nowhere to sit, not even outside. We asked if the meals come with fried rice. They said yes. We were charged $13 extra for fried rice. The wonton soup was extremely bland, like lukewarm water. The Kung Pow chicken was not at all what I expected and not good. The only thing I cared for was the fried rice and orange chicken. Somehow our two $8 meals plus one soup added up to $42 on the receipt and we couldn't even eat it there. I asked for hot chili oil and they said they would give me some. The fried rice was pretty good- a little greasy but overall I liked it. I was not a fan of my sesame chicken. The chicken had a lot of fat to it; a lot of uncomfortably chewy spots. The sauce was not standard sesame chicken sauce. It tasted more like bourbon chicken truthfully. I tried some Rangoon which were good. There were large hunks of onions in them for those weird onion people. Soda comes in cans and they keep their plastic ware in this bin with an awkward lid that sticks; this is at the same table one of the employees was sitting playing what sounded like candy crush. Crazy Wok has been our go-to for Chinese takeout for years. They have a few tables in the restaurant but it's mostly take out/delivery. The food is always consistently good. When we call for delivery, it's always delivered quickly and the food is still hot when it arrives. They automatically give you the packets of hot mustard but they also make their own, which you have to request. It's a lot spicier than the packets but that's what we like. This might be my new favorite Chinese restaurant in the area now. The food is very flavorful and full of items. Let me explain what I mean. So I got the wonton egg drop should and first of all I got 8 good sized wontons in the soup and usually you only get 4 now a days but this place gives you 8. They all added a good amount of pork and vegetables to the soup which I've never seen before but it was soo good. Then I got the special lo Mein medium size and it was packed good for 2 people.lots of pork shrimp and chicken. My family got combinations and their food looked good too they all liked the eggs rolls and fried rice. The only reason I can't give them a 5 is they use the styrofoam containers and they overflow each meal with juice and it overflowed in the one container and made a mess on the items. They do give big portions by the way but I found them to be a little more pricier then regular Chinese Restaurants.
