GETTING HERE:…read more Located at the Linq Promenade in Las Vegas, near the Flamingo and Linq hotels. REVIEW: I forgot pictures because I was locked in! Ghirardelli is the only chocolate I eat, sorry not sorry. :) It just tastes *different, and since I was a first timer to this location I had to take it all in. :) Service was OK enough. There was one employee who seemed to be manning the front entrance, greeting customers, etc., and then once he got them inside he would direct another employee to ring up the order. I only have been to the location at California Adventure, so I didn't have a lot to compare it to, but this was very good time as well. If you're at the Linq Promenade, you have to make a stop here. At least for one square to give you sustenance for the tables and slots!

I've been coming here for years, and the Banana Split is still one of my all-time favorites. Their chocolates are top-notch, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a nice stop while walking the Strip. Update from today: I tried the Dubai Chocolate Sundae, and it was absolutely amazing! Rich, delicious, and definitely worth trying. The staff was super friendly, and Tara was amazing -- very kind and made the experience even better. Seating is limited, but the experience and desserts are totally worth it!

Sadly, did not love, Lu-It custard. While just off one end of the strip, like every other down town…read morearea in the US (outside of the strip) it is located in a sketchy area. On our visit, there were several sketchy people in the lot and some going to the adjoining liquor store. While most of the customers were nice family looking people, a few of them were on the sketchier side too. If this were the only issue, we would go back, but there were other issues as well. However, for the positives, parking was limited, but sufficient. Business was good and there was both a line and numerous people waiting for their food. The order area is well lit at night. Most of all, the servers are very friendly, helpful, and patient. Unfortunately, the rest of the downside are the most important things. The serving cup size is good, but the ratio of custard to hot fudge/toppings was way off. Most places do not give enough fudge/chocolate sauce/toppings, but here the ratio was half and half. This MIGHT have been ok if the fudge and toppings were layered as at other places that do not skimp on toppings, but here the fudge/toppings were the top half of the cup and the custard at the bottom. This made it difficult to get the custard and to get a proper ratio of custard to topping. Kind of like rationing your meat and rice or potatoes so you have some for each bite--you could not do this with the custard and toppings here. The custard quality seemed like it might be ok, but it was hard to tell due to the ratio and serving structure. Overall, Nielson's custard has the more standard concretes with mix ins and a larger portion size than Luv-it. Freddy's frozen custard, although not as good as Nielson's was still also better than Luv-it. If Luv-it could either layer its toppings and you have concrete custard consistency, then it could be rated higher. As is, you are better off driving the distance to Nielson's or just going to Freddys. Still, if you must go to Luv-it, just be aware of your surroundings and you will still get an ok dessert.

So I was in town for an old friend's combination Anniversary/Birthday celebration, and as someone…read morewho grew up on a Midwest cattle ranch I was itching to sample some excellent beef. So I ducked into Black Tap at the Venetian after seeing a Wagyu burger on the menu. Being a lifelong space cadet in both profession (in my 23rd year at NASA,) and mental inclination (no comment,) I'd totally forgotten that I had a hard-and-fast obligation I needed to get to, stat - after having already ordered the Wagyu burger - so I asked the stunning waitress if I could change it to a "to go" order. The staff did not miss a beat, and a done-deal without a single hiccup and I was outta there. I did not have time to eat it so I had no choice but to actually let it sit in the hotel room getting cold - *gasp* - until I could get back to it. Sacrilege, I know, but... no choice. But even eaten cold (thanks TI for no microwaves in the rooms - though microwaves tend to kill flavor so maybe a good thing anyway,) it was seriously tasty and... a tantalizing draw. So the very next day I went back with no obligation hanging over me, and had the exact same thing, this time nice and fresh and hot. And it was, in a word: Sublime. - Cooked to perfection; - Juicy as small-town gossip; - Exploding with flavor in every direction like a Tears of Tragedy guitar solo; - And from a guy who grew up eating hamburgers that were walking around the pasture just a few days earlier, I can tell you with zero exaggeration that this is some truly righteous, farm-fresh beef. On another visit to Black Tap I sampled their chicken nachos - being a gym-rat, nachos are something I hadn't had in years but... it's Vegas and therefore WTH. And that - their nachos with chicken - is another to-die-for thing these people do absolutely excellently. So now I'm back in LA and Jonesin' in a big, big way and... they've got a location down at Disneyland. A bit of a drive but I'm thinking I could be a regular. Folks, if you're looking for some brews and some truly righteous food done excellently, look for this place. Not to be missed.

However the night quickly turned sour when we tried to exit. We came in through the ally in the back because we purchased a special ticket for Juneteenth. We came in ordered a drink and then went upstairs. Music was great vibes great. I always wondered why my job was soooo big on a "notable farewell" and now I get it. We tried to exit the through the same area where we entered. It looked like an entrance only area so we saw an exit sign to the left of the bar in the back. We walked over but we saw it blocked off. We 100% WERE NOT going to try to get past the blockage however the Asian, woman, bartender in the back promptly approached us shaking her finger and rolling her neck telling us we could not exit there. Well to us that was very obvious. When we asked her where to exit she blatantly ignored us and started flashing her flashlight at the security. Never helped or guided us at all! I get it she might have been tired of telling people that they cannot exit there all night, however it was out first time trying to locate an exit and for her to flip out on us like that is unacceptable. We eventually made our way to a security guard who told us to exit in the front. AT NO POINT did ANYONE tell us "be sure to exit out the front". Maybe adding that line when entering through the back would be helpful. All in all I had a good night until the bartender in the back threw off the vibes of an otherwise successful Juneteenth.
