Overbooked! So much so we had to bail after 11 holes because it was already more than three hours. We had a group behind us hitting into us for four holes straight with the group in front of us still on the green. They need to hire a ranger to keep pace of play and the entitled old farts in line. Cart was breaking down half way through so we had to swap out on the turn. Course was in good shape but all the rest of this overshadowed that. read more

Played here yesterday; considering the fall/cold weather the course was in REALLY good shape. Reasonable price, GREAT restaurant, cheap buckets for the range before we went out. Greens are pretty challenging. I will definitely come back in the spring, when there are no leaves all over the place. We really enjoyed the course and food though. Staff was also awesome. read more

They don't have enough carts. The carts that they do have are just plain bad. Had a11:58 tee time. At 11:40 was told that there were no more carts available and we had to wait until someone finished. There were 5 reservations ahead of us waiting for carts. This is the 2nd time in 2 years that this happened here. Will not even think about booking another tee time until I know that they have more carts. read more

We called the day before our tee time. We are from out of town and my partner needed clubs. We spoke to Jack, who was wonderful. Because my partner only needed 3 clubs, he said she could rent them for free. Greg honored that request, but despite clearly being told she was right handed, gave her lefty clubs. After using my driver, she found that out on the first fairway of a crowded course and continued using my clubs. He also made racist remarks about Hasidic Jews and Mexicans read more

I haven't been to Cream Ridge GC for over 10 years. I'm guessing they have new ownership now since this isn't the same course I'd played in the past. They were very busy to say the least. In our new normal of a COVID world, they require masks for patrons coming inside the clubhouse for purchasing their round or pro shop items------except for the young girls working behind the counter who didn't seem to have a mask in sight. You know when a course is in good shape based on how many golf balls you lose even when hitting on the fairway. I'm sure they can find time to maintain the fairways and greens. Maybe take care of the rough as well? It's not a challenging course and very walkable, but when in poor shape, makes it more challenging. For $55 per person, I would expect a bit better. read more

Played here today. Course is ok, not dire what the deal is with some long rite across fairways (drainage?), nobody seems to repair ball marks. We didn't even finish round because we got tired of waiting to tee off for 8-10 minutes on the last 3 holes of front nine, then a backup on 10 (a foursome 2 groups in front of us and a twosome in front of us. Now on my second year as a member at Cream Ridge. The course is in good shape right now for February, and will be in great shape come spring! Reading older reviews, none really since the new management has taken over. Bob has been nothing but gracious every time we've talked. The staff is very nice and are more than happy to help you out! During the peak golf time, there is always a cart girl out on the course. The food at the Roost is very good, great selection of beer and spirits and the staff is attentive when your making your stop at the turn to keep you moving on the course. The maintenance crew of the course is always cleaning up and this week they were trimming up the low branches on the trees. Can not wait until the weather breaks and the greens get cut to speed the greens up! Going to be a great season!!! read more

public golf course that used to have a bell that you rang when you were down in the valley so the next group knew you were clear. No longer there and a tower and a periscope, made it interesting but they were no longer there. Cream Ridge is like the definition of "middle of the road." I've played on much better, but I've played on much worse. Its a challenging little course though, as its just lousy with water hazards. I think the grass could be a little more manicured, as the fairways are a little wolly, but its a nice course for intermediate players like me. They are currently doing construction on their bar, so that might be nice when its finished. I can NEVER tell you about price, since I absolutely REFUSE to pay the ridiculously exorbitant "regular" golf prices, and will only book through golfnow.com, but it was $17 for my round, and that is more than ok with me. read more

Great course. Had an early tee time and flew through in about 3.5hrs. Course and greens were in excellent condition. Will be returning.

Play Cream Ridge about every two weeks. Played on July 28th. Play on front nine was extremely slow with a wait on almost every tee. Coming up the ninth hole, we could see no one was playing on first hole. When we got to the tenth hole was found that they had allowed two groups to start on the tenth hole even though play was backed up and they have a large sign saying that no one cam start off on the tenth hole. We had to sit and wait for three groups to tee off before we could play the tenth hole which made the back nine to be extremely slow. The round took more than 4 1/2 hours to play. When you have to sit and wait to hit every shot it does not make for an enjoyable round. read more

At $41 ahead with the cart a nice relaxing affordable yet challenging course definitely not great and the fairways are far from perfect. 18 holes with rolling hills which causes the ball to constantly roll down hill including on some greens. Water hazards may have a hacker loosing a few balls as I did. Driving and putting range. They do not allow alcohol but have a magnificent club house. The beer selection was astronomical in bottles and a decent draft selection as well. The apps are all under $10, had the lightly battered boneless chicken bites with multiple sauce options really good. The Reuben was sizable and a nice sandwich to share. I was told at the course you cannot book tee times through GOLFNOW for this course. When you pick this course on GOLFNOW you are automatically transferred to the Cream Ridge website without a message or warning. The course was a DISASTER! When you get there they tell you you have to pay even though you THINK you've already paid through GOLFNOW. The front nine was closed so we had to play the back nine twice. They told us that that there was some sort of blight/fungus on the greens and the greens were destroyed after we paid. The tee boxes were dirt with crabgrass on the tee boxes. You could not purchase any food the dishwasher told us because the cook didn't show up. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! read more

Got treated so rude here I will never be going back. Even though the course is in horrible shape for what they charge it's been my meeting place with my father since its half way between us. My father and I actually got told to get off the driving range because we were on it for 40 mins. I'm sorry, I didn't know there was a pace of play on an empty driving range! After the second time of them coming out to tell us we basically told him to get lost. When I go to the range I don't just smack balls, I take my time with every shot and actually pick targets out. Now I felt rushed because he said he was coming back in 20 mins and lost all concentration . We'll be going to hanover going forward. read more

Horrible management, we were constantly hunted and pursued by the staff, kept pushing, telling us we were to slow, I work hard all week and rush from project to project don't need that on the course!!! we're were paired up with a ten year old and his grandfather of 66 years of age, we are both operators of small businesses in the area. staff did not appreciate the young lad on the course, young players should be encouraged to play more Golf not be in the middle of a shouting match between staff and players... I was pushed to the limit from such behavior, by the staff that I called the office staff a bunch of assholes and was told to leave the premises. I used to spend lots of money on food and beverages there. I will not be a part of such establishment that pushes players like Gestapo SS soldiers, and the way they treated that young player a boy of ten years of age...!!! Shame on you Steve Rice for hiring idiots to run Cream ridge. And the ugly straggly haired woman behind the desk had no clue.... she was just yelling out of control and very rude... not a good way to treat paying customers. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. If I could give 0 stars I would. I used to be a regular at this course last season, but today was my second round at this course this season and it will be my last. There is something to be said when the course is dead on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in September. A day like today, it should have been packed. 80% of the holes are in absolutely terrible shape. I've never seen worse tee boxes and greens, especially on the back 9. The greens on holes 10 thru 13 are like putting on a slab of mud. There's literally no grass. There is no possible way to read the green and make an accurate putt when the ball is bouncing around in every direction as soon as you hit it. Most of the tee boxes besides a few are similar, no grass just mud. Not to mention how rude the staff was. I finished my round and there was nobody on the course (because nobody wants to play here) and I wanted to replay hole 9 because some idiot thought that he could have a practice hole before his round and just walked up to the tee box and shot up with me. It killed my rhythm and I ended up shooting an 8 on the hole and it completely destroyed my front 9 score. I figured since there was nobody there, I could just replay hole 9 after I was done. If the course had anyone else on it, I would have never even thought about going back and playing another hole. Since nobody was there and it was still relatively early, I didn't think it would be a big deal. Jim (the ranger) raced after me asking me what I was doing. I explained to him very nicely what had happened and he told me that I couldn't do it and I played my 18 holes and that was that. I told him that I was never coming back here, which he responded with "don't worry you won't be missed". Then as I was going to my truck he called me an a**hole under his breath. After that things got heated and he ended up arguing with me in the parking lot after I just paid him $40 for a round of golf at a poor conditioned course all because I wanted to replay a single hole while nobody was playing. Clearly I'm not the only one who thinks this because they don't even generate enough money to print real score cards. All of their score cards are on white computer paper. Go play eagle ridge, similar price and a far better experience. I won't make the mistake of playing here ever again. read more

The bartenders are awesome and are very helpful with beer choices and food choices. The space is great so you don't feel like you are on top of people. TV's are always in a sports channel. Food and beer is great, and nothing beats seeing the golf course during sundown. I would recommend it to anyone. read more

Would give this zero stars if I could. The back 9 is not playable, and after finishing we figured we would go in and ask about the possibility of getting some money back. We were greeted by a rude man in the clubhouse who ridiculed and laughed at the question! Unprofessional and had zero respect! You would think people in business would recognize the lifetime value of customers who are 20 years old, but clearly they don't which is why their course looks more like a beach than a golf course! read more

Great bar with a good draft selection - I'd like to see more craft beer though. The food is really good, I've eaten here several times and have not been disappointed. Try the angry clams! I would recommend The short ribs and tuna appetizer - The bacon burger was very good also. The only thing I tried that I wasn't crazy about was the lobster roll. They have a very nice patio overlooking the golf course for nice days and a comfortable spacious seating area inside. The atmosphere is casual and the pricing is very reasonable! Played the course today, October 5, 2018. Several greens are almost all sand and one "green" is actually the fairway. No one let us know of the conditions prior to forking over $39. Traps were horrible and the course is inadvertently wet condition. Not worth the money read more

Just played this weekend.... .the cart paths need to be re-paved...there were craters.....three greens were terrible with hardly no grass and there was one temporary green. I played there recently and was shocked at how bad of shape it was in. Well, I guess whoever it is that runs this course now (State or County?) really just does not care about this course at all. Swamps in the middle of fairways with a haze of mosquito's, crab grass on the greens, cart paths that need a 4 wheel drive to get over some of the uprooted paths. They can at least spend some money on chemicals to kill the weeds on the greens. I was a member here for 12 or so years, until joining Knob Hill (looks like Augusta in comparison!) years ago. Its very sad to see what has happened to this course since the 2 families that owned it sold it off. It used to be in much, much better shape. Honestly, its the worst golf course i have played at in NJ. Very sad. I think Gamblers Ridge or Hanover are not as much as a Goat farm as this is. This course is not for any real golfers. But it is good for beginners, hackers and people who don't have any golf etiquette. I am surprised there is any attire rules at all. Gym shorts and tank tops would be more appropriate. Perhaps the beer is cold at the bar at least. For what they charge for a greens fee, it is an absolute crime! $20.00 with a cart would make it marginally worth it, I was lucky to break 80 there today. No worries to those who like that course, I will not play there ever again. read more

Played here back to back Sunday's and my friends and I were impressed. Played ALOT of Jersey courses this yr and this one was nice. Great shape for February and challenging . Long par 5s and all the par 3 s are over water . People are real nice and the Roost has great food and taps w happy hr specials . They let you chip in the warm up greens which is rare for NJ and there's a range for $5/bucket. I can see it being a slow course in season but would def come back to find out. My review is for the golf instructor Carly Brooks, who recently joined Cream Ridge Golf Course. As a woman, I really wanted to work with someone who could help me understand the game of golf. This is my first time and she is an amazing instructor. I was intimidated by the game at first, but she completely takes her time to break it down. My family and I had a horrible experience at Sunsets. I felt it was understaffed and very slow. The word slow is an understatement. It wasn't even crowded! It would have been faster if I slaughtered the cow myself. Additionally, there was no manager or hostess in sight! This restaurant is desperately in need of management. Made a tee time for 1:56, but they wouldn't let us play until 2:30 because they somehow didn't have enough golf carts. Ridiculous. On top of that, they made us finish golfing a half hour before sunset. Needless to say the course is extremely poorly managed. The course itself was also in very poor condition.
