After about 6 months after my first haircut with her, and the tips she's provided, my hair is low key thriving! Let's start off with location... She's located downtown Hayward off B Street. Although, parking kinda sucks, and it is the Main Street with so many cars, her place is so cute! Inside her place, there plenty of seating, and a lot of chairs available. For the most part, whenever I go see her, I'm probably the only other client inside - just incase you guys get nervous for Covid reasons. Nancy is so welcoming. She starts off asking you what you want to do with your hair, and she observes and starts framing your face to see if you would like it and gives out suggestions as needed. Then she washes your hair, and then she begins the cut. She's so knowledgable in the industry. She given me helpful advice on how to maintain my hair. For reference, I've always had to wash my hair daily because it's always getting so oily. So she's given me tips on how to prevent it. And after 6 months of following tips, and seeing what works for me, my hair is fuller, healthier, and thriving as I've mentioned. We also received a complimentary Olaplex service for the wait. I nearly fell asleep during that service lol it was very relaxing and then my hair felt amazingly soft afterwards. Paula was incredibly caring. She took the time to really understand what I want and paused to ask me questions throughout. "Speak from the heart," is what she'd tell me to really make sure I was happy. She maintained my length, understanding how precious it was to me, but somehow gave my thinner Asian hair more volume with the U-shape cut technique. The layers and face framing pieces were soft and cohesive, blending into my hair naturally when unstyled. She did this intentionally because I mentioned I don't really have time to style my hair. But if I decide I do want to style my hair, the layers are there to play around with. I also struggle with flat hair, and she managed to give me volume around the head (unstyled!) with her cutting technique. Then at the end, she took notes on the cut I received to remember for the future. I just loveeee the attention to detail, the expertise, and how cared for I felt here. The color was not the same, the style was uneven, and my hair ended up damaged. I paid almost $400 for this service, expecting professional results, but the quality did not match the price at all. At the very least, I would have appreciated honesty if the desired result was not achievable. I left feeling very unhappy with the service, and now my hair needs repair. I was told that I SHOULD NOT attempt to go blonde and wait until I have virgin hair again which comes around once in a life time for us girlies.
