I was able to make an appointment through yelp and was booked with Mercedes and she was AMAZING. She was actually one of the stylist I was interested in on their website based off of her profile and the style and cut I was looking for. She is very knowledgeable and was able to give me solid advice on my hair (It's gone through a lot this year). She is going to help me get my hair back to a healthy place. After posting my initial review, I've found even more butchered patches. The photos are extremely generous. They look much worse in person. Due to the short pieces at the top of my head that stick straight up, I've had my hair in a ponytail all day as leaving the house with my hair down would look ridiculous. Unfortunately, I've come to find that even in a ponytail, there are patches of 1 - 2 inch strands that stick straight out of the sides of my head. Since I can't wear my hair up now, I will be wearing hats for the next six months while this grows out. This is beyond upsetting and so embarrassing that even a ponytail can't hide this hack job. I've never experienced anything like this. It looks like my 2 year old took scissors to my hair. read more

I'm writing this review for my mom (she has dementia)and these are my thoughts and observations. For one, this was the first time here because my mom's hairdresser lost her place in Dublin, so she found a stall here. Anyways, the place itself is pretty convenient since it's located by the freeway. The place is surprisingly pretty big and spacious and my mom's hairdresser is always patient and polite. I will admit probably for my mom's next visit I'll have to stick around a tad longer and help my mom and her hairdresser when my mom gets her hair washed. So not everything there is I guess ADA available, but it's a minor thing for now since my mom has very limited mobility but can move with some assistance. As for the hairstyle, mom is always happy and I personally think makes her feel as normal as she can get these days and being content let alone having another outside interaction besides with me is always a good thing! read more

This review is for Libby. I've been seeing Libby for over two years and actually travel back to the Bay Area just to have my hair done by her - that's how good she is. She's a true color magician. She helped me transition through the awkward grey stage at exactly the right time, and later brought me back to light brown in a way that blends beautifully with my fast-growing greys and grows out naturally without constant upkeep. The moment I knew I could fully trust her was when she gave me a short haircut, something I'm usually very hesitant about and absolutely nailed it. Finding a stylist who is genuinely excellent at both color and cutting is surprisingly rare, and Libby is both. She listens carefully, understands the science behind how color and texture behave, and designs styles that actually look great as they grow out not just the day you leave the chair. She's also warm, funny, and incredibly easy to be around. Even my husband, who normally avoids hair maintenance altogether, got a cut from her and loved it. I follow a CV community page on FB and asked for a good stylist recommendation for my son's first haircut a couple months ago. I was recommended Danielle from Rachel Grace as the person to see. She was very patient with my wiggly 8 month old and an overall pleasant person. She even offered to save a lock of his hair, which I almost forgot to ask for. My son had a lot of fun with her and I was so pleased with how comfortable she made the process for my son and I. She said she's been cutting kid's hair for over a decade when I asked her. Her experience is impressive. Today I just got back from my son's 2nd haircut. Our experience was just as delightful as the last time. My little guy looks so handsome with his new style! Growing up in AZ I have a hairstylist that I've gone to forever. My husband works for Southwest so we always flew back home whenever the kids and I needed haircuts. I've looked for a local salon on and off throughout the years. It's crazy, but when you have that one person that knows your hair it's hard to trust anyone else. The kids are getting older so life is hectic and not as easy to fly back home. I brought my daughter to another stylist a couple months prior. The stylist started dry cutting my daughters hair. I almost had a heart attack watching her butcher the perfect cut she had. Fast forward to the new school year. My daughter says I really need to get a haircut, but we didn't have time to fly down to AZ. I use Yelp for everything and after looking long and hard I saw Rachel Grace Salon. The reviews were good and I saw they had a website. I like to check out the stylists and bios. I didn't even realize the owner Rachel's daughter goes to school with my daughter. lol I reached out to Rachel to schedule an appointment. When arriving to the salon the decor was very cozy and inviting. Rachel talked to my daughter about what type of cut she wanted and her concerns. My daughter mentioned some damage from a jacuzzi that really dried out her hair. I also mentioned how her hair was and wanted the layers to flow. My daughter got about 4 inches cut off. Rachel did an amazing job on the cut. She also recommended a hair mask help repair damage and hydrate. Most importantly my daughter loves it. I think we finally found our new local salon :) read more

Disappointing Experience - Not Recommended for Curly Hair I came to this salon hoping for a haircut that would enhance my natural curls--something that would add volume and make my hair look healthier without taking off too much length. I was booked with Janette Reyna, who told me she had experience with curly hair. However, based on the photos and my experience, it seems she is more familiar with wavy hair, not tighter curl patterns like mine. I arrived with dry hair that hadn't been washed in a few days, and sadly, I left with it looking even worse. My hair ended up uneven, much shorter than expected, and with an odd shape--almost like a small tail in the back. It didn't look layered properly at all. I left feeling embarrassed and extremely disappointed. I returned to the salon to speak calmly and respectfully with the stylist about the result. I simply asked for a small discount due to the outcome. Unfortunately, Janette was not flexible and only offered to make my hair even shorter. Then she called a colleague, who unexpectedly joined the conversation and was very dismissive and confrontational. Despite my efforts to remain polite and kind, I felt talked down to and gaslit. They implied my hair only looked good before because of the products used at a previous salon, completely ignoring my concerns about the cut and shape. It felt like they were more focused on defending each other than listening to a customer who just wanted some understanding. I wasn't aggressive or rude--I just wanted someone to acknowledge that the cut didn't turn out right. In the end, they said the best they could do was waive a $3 card processing fee. I left feeling not only unhappy with my haircut but also disrespected and dismissed. If you have curly hair that needs specialized care, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere( as Janette's friend said that salon was not right for me). This was not a safe or welcoming experience for me, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same. read more

I was turned away from other salons due to my damage. But April was down for the challenge and she was so amazing. She took the time to listen to me describe how damaged my hair with boxed dye was and the color correction i needed, what i wanted to achieve, and she definitely achieved it. she got my hair back to its natural color, brought back its natural curl, got rid of my frizz, and was the kindest sweetest stylist i've ever been to. Love my hair done by Karina! I can tell she really loves what she does as she works like a well oiled machine. I have super long hair and she worked so quickly and efficiently. I asked to start the process for grey blending and she was very honest and up front about how to transition to get to that point. She gave me highlights and toned it as well as a beautiful layered cut. She also sent me home with knowledge about at home hair care and what the next steps would be. Janette is literally THE BEST! I've never had a hair cut as amazing as the ones she's given me. She takes the time to really understand your vibe and want you want. She's a delight to chat with and overall an extremely talented stylist. I also love that Janette informs me of every product she's putting in my hair, why, and what it does. I had questions for her about how to style my hair and she showed my different ways of pulling it up. My last appointment with Janette she suggested I use a different blow dryer (a pressurized one instead of a heat one) and to start using a mask once a week. My hair health has drastically improved based off of her recommendations. In fact, my hair grew noticeably and significantly more in just a short 3 months between appointments when usually I'm a 6 month hair cut type of person! The service was exceptional, the salon is beautiful and clean, the conversation produced lots of laughs and I always leave with beautiful, healthy hair with my length still in tact. I went here 2 times and both times, I did not get what I asked for. The first time, I wanted to shorten the overall length of my hair only a little bit so that it would sit just past my shoulders, she cut me a bob. I was devastated. The second time, I felt like the girl cutting my hair didn't really know what she was doing and a day or so later, I put my hair up into a bun and I wanted my bangs out and noticed that they were uneven. I've never been happy with my hair after going here and it's way too expensive for the quality cut that I get. Sorry to say but I will not be coming back here to get my hair cut again. read more

No one was there when I first arrived. Store front locked. I got a little panicked since I set this appointment up before a conference I was attending. I sent a text and April replied quickly - she was on her way. Once inside, I explained I wanted some highlights and a trim. She told me it would be $340.00. I said ok and hoped for the best. At the end of the many hours I was there, my hair looked ok - not bad but not great. She played it safe with the color which for a first appointment was good. The cut was the worst part. She didn't cut much but the way she cut my bangs looked horrible (short and puffy). To her credit she asked if they looked ok. Since I didn't think she understood how I wanted them (choppy not puffy), I said sure and got the heck out of there. I knew I could fix them when I got home. With tip it was over $400. If it had looked great (or even very good), I'd be back but it doesn't so I won't. read more

Janette is AMAZING! I've been going to her for YEARS and when she moved to Rachel Grace Salon, I was so happy she was closer to me! She really listens to what you want and will work with you to get that perfect look. While she does incredible vivid and pastel colors, she's also a pro with the natural colors too. I just went from blonde to brunette and couldn't be happier! Also, the salon has such a cool vibe as far as decor- neon signs and big vintage mirrors. Finding a new stylist is a bit nerve wrecking. You don't know how it's going to go, if they will vibe with you, etc. Not at this salon! I made an appointment online for the same week. Communicated directly with my the salon owner and then my new stylist via text. She asked great questions to be prepared for my haircut. She did a great job cutting my hair, we struck up a conversation and it went dynamically. I love my haircut. I had a moment where I thought it needed some correction and she was more than willing to fit me in within a couple of days. I was wrong, it did not need correcting. She was as great at all aspects of the process. Everyone at the salon was happy, upbeat, cool music, relaxed vibe and nice setup. If you want a really good stylist, I highly recommend checking this place out. It's on the high end for pricing but well worth it. They are busy, which means they are good, so bookings could be 2 to 3 weeks out. read more

I've been going to Libby for a good amount of time for my cuts and numerous colors, and I've never been disappointed with the fantastic work she does. She is always super helpful and informative regarding aftercare, as well as being very professional and polite during every one of our appointments. She was one of the main reasons I felt comfortable enough to give non natural colors a chance, and I've been so happy with the results and I always look forward to scheduling my appointments with her. If you're on the fence about trying out a new style or a new color for yourself I think Libby would be a great point of view to help you decide! I really don't know what I'll ever do if she decided to leave the hair industry, but I'll put that thought to the back of my mind. DREA made my Victoria's Secret hair dreams come true!! I had my hair short for a while unable to get the length I had a few years ago. My hair was blunt and a natural black and I have been wishing for long black hair. After winning her IG contest, I was able to get into seeing Drea before the holidays. She walked me through every step of the install and made sure everything was comfortable. Drea put in a row of 22" and 24" extensions using the Luna method. In my opinion, having a kind and friendly hair stylist and dentist are incredibly important because you're stuck with them for hours until their done working on you. I've lived in the bay for 11 years and in all that time, I've never found a hair stylist that I actually felt like they cared about me as a person...until I saw Libby at Rachel Grace Salon! I am a passive person so I have a hard time knowing what I want, asking questions, or saying something when someone is doing something that I don't like. The last hair salon that I went to before Libby was horrible: the lady didn't talk to me at all, seemed unhappy the whole time, shamed me for having oily hair, clearly made a mistake without telling me and so had to wash my hair twice, it took 5 hours and my scalp burned for days afterward but I was too afraid to say anything in the moment. Libby was the opposite. Libby was so friendly and easy to talk to. She wanted to know what I wanted and I felt safe to ask her questions, she also explained what she was doing. It's been a week and a half since seeing Libby and I still love my haircut! My balayage and partial highlight look pretty good although it's a little too subtle, but that's my fault because that's what I asked for and what I thought I wanted. I am so happy that after 11 years of searching I finally found a hair stylist I absolutely love that treats me with kindness and respect, it was actually a healing experience after the dehumanizing one I had in the past.
