Due to my recent childbirth, I was unable to visit for several months, yet she remembered exactly what I wanted and made me feel comfortable. Sonya listens carefully to my requests and truly understands my style. As someone who is quite picky and sensitive about my hair, I have visited many places looking for the right stylist who can deliver the look I envision. When I arrived they were very busy (new years eve's eve; everyone wants a cut rn) but i and another girl were offered waters and macarons. We also received a complimentary Olaplex service for the wait. I nearly fell asleep during that service lol it was very relaxing and then my hair felt amazingly soft afterwards. Paula was incredibly caring. She took the time to really understand what I want and paused to ask me questions throughout. "Speak from the heart," is what she'd tell me to really make sure I was happy. She maintained my length, understanding how precious it was to me, but somehow gave my thinner Asian hair more volume with the U-shape cut technique. The layers and face framing pieces were soft and cohesive, blending into my hair naturally when unstyled. She did this intentionally because I mentioned I don't really have time to style my hair. But if I decide I do want to style my hair, the layers are there to play around with. I also struggle with flat hair, and she managed to give me volume around the head (unstyled!) with her cutting technique. Then at the end, she took notes on the cut I received to remember for the future. I just loveeee the attention to detail, the expertise, and how cared for I felt here. I think I've found my go-to salon now, finally.

This review is for Libby…read more I've been seeing Libby for over two years and actually travel back to the Bay Area just to have my hair done by her - that's how good she is. She's a true color magician. She helped me transition through the awkward grey stage at exactly the right time, and later brought me back to light brown in a way that blends beautifully with my fast-growing greys and grows out naturally without constant upkeep. The moment I knew I could fully trust her was when she gave me a short haircut, something I'm usually very hesitant about and absolutely nailed it. Finding a stylist who is genuinely excellent at both color and cutting is surprisingly rare, and Libby is both. She listens carefully, understands the science behind how color and texture behave, and designs styles that actually look great as they grow out not just the day you leave the chair. She's also warm, funny, and incredibly easy to be around. Even my husband, who normally avoids hair maintenance altogether, got a cut from her and loved it. If you care about grey transition, natural grow-out, or just want low-maintenance hair that still looks polished, Libby is the one.

Anyways, the place itself is pretty convenient since it's located by the freeway. The place is surprisingly pretty big and spacious and my mom's hairdresser is always patient and polite. I will admit probably for my mom's next visit I'll have to stick around a tad longer and help my mom and her hairdresser when my mom gets her hair washed. So not everything there is I guess ADA available, but it's a minor thing for now since my mom has very limited mobility but can move with some assistance. As for the hairstyle, mom is always happy and I personally think makes her feel as normal as she can get these days and being content let alone having another outside interaction besides with me is always a good thing!

I went to this salon about three weeks ago based on reviews here on Yelp, ironically. I was a little alarmed at how unskilled the assistant the stylist had working with her was, and I think she may have left the toner on too long because she rushed me to the wash station. In the end after I got home and looking in the mirror, I was shocked. They completely gave me an incorrect shade of blonde and over the past few washes the toner has left it looking like a drab Dijon mustard color. I had called the salon immediately to let them know. I really wasn't happy with the color and I was considering going back for a fix. However, it occurred to me that if they messed it up the first time they likely would not be able to fix it. I'm planning a tiny wedding on a tiny budget for later this year and saved up $500 for my hair. It was the worst waste of money, I hate my hair, and now I'm I am going to go to my former Los Angeles stylist before a business trip because it's the only option I think I have. I would avoid the salon if you're a blonde. I'm still stinging over the $500 (!!! Insane!) I wish I could get it all back.

Not recommended. way too strong for the color chemicals. no cover at all. meaning after they applied the chemical to your beautiful hairs, it just left in the open. anything in your surrounding will have a chance get to your hair while waiting. especially you catch in a busy time. not sure why they don't put some kind of plastic film, shrink wrap, or that head dome just to protect your exposure from other debris like people haircut or something. I would go somewhere else to color or anything other than basic haircut. also, for some reason they don't wash your hair before or after the cut, even I asked, prior to apply the color. even they have the washing stations for whatever purpose they used for, or for some kind of special guests only.

What better way to welcome change than to get rid of the old hairstyle and take on a new look. Definitely need some getting used to, but I'm totally digging this color: Medium Neutral Ash; along with my new chopped hair: Drastic V-Line Bob. Overall look is great and feels great. Yet again, Maya has steered me in the right direction. After what feels like over a decade, Maya seems to know what I want and need more than I know myself. Whenever I'm indecisive or uncertain, she knows and she's right. This obviously comes from years and years of experience. During all my visits, including this one, I always felt good and happy knowing that she genuinely cares for my benefits. Yes, money is a factor as we all need to hustle and bustle to make a living in this crazy expensive state, but truly, her motives are not entirely geared towards that. It takes a lot of planning and commitment to make sure not to damage my hair even more so than they already are. She really looks out for the best interests of her clients, foremost than her own. Myself, my sister and my mother have had wavy/curly hair types that Maya has expertly worked on for years. I recently wanted to embrace my actual wavy hair texture and so I asked Maya for a super short cut and couldn't be happier. I absolutely love the curly shag I rock because of her amazing skills and have truly fell in love with my natural hair texture thanks to her skills. I have not used heat on my hair for over a year & am super happy with getting my bangs trimmed every few months. Maya is also booked by appointment only and it says so on her Yelp page as well so all reviews that mention her not taking walk ins have reviewers that unfortunately don't know how to read.

Since the shop is located next to a restaurant and a convenience store, parking can be difficult especially during peak hours and on Saturdays when spots are very limited.
